I’m so happy you enjoyed my country!! It was amazing hearing the Aussie accents!! I plan on taking a trip on the Ghan next year 🎉
Kuga-san, have you started replying to channel comments? Or is someone impersonating you? :/
1920 AUD for the total fare!!! I took the exact same route as you in 2011 in Economy class and the total fare cost me 414 AUD!
Edit: It's a shame they removed Economy class 😭

My wife and I have travelled on 'The Ghan' some 27 years ago now. Our compartment contained two foldaway bunk beds and washing facilities. The economy class coaches were in use in those days and the train only went as far as Alice Springs. The track was not well maintained and as a result the train speed was limited to 40mph. We were in Australia for a month and visited Sydney, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Cairns and Brisbane, as well as the small town of Maroochydore. It was for our 25th Wedding Anniversary. A truly wonderful time. My wife and I are still together.
Congratulations... for the long life and long marriage😊
If you visited Victoria, you would have loved it.
We had our 50th, on 20th October 2023, and I'm not 70 yet🎉
God bless you
Be together forever ✨️ 💐
Iam from South Australia and glad you enjoyed your trip
Hi Kuga!! Finally your Ghan video is here! Sadly, you didn't travel with my crew 😢 but that's okay! You'll just have to keep riding our trains until you get to meet and hang out with the best attendant 😉
Would you believe I watched your video while ON the Ghan?! We're in Alice Spring right now! I finished my work for today, and now I'm sitting in the dining car. Tomorrow well go to Coober Pedy! But tonight our whole crew will eat dinner together, we call this our family meal ❤
I hope you enjoyed the sunrise! It's truly so special to see the sunrise in the outback, and I consider myself very lucky to see it every time I come on the train 😊 And I find it funny that statue was your highlight, I often forget it's there 😅
Thank you once again for travelling with us! Every time I see a guest smile, I feel so proud and happy! I hope to continue being a great representative of my country! Please visit us again!! 🇦🇺❤
For those complaining about the price, its a luxury tourist/ritiree holiday train, not a commuter. Yes the interiors are dated but you get 5 star meals, service and everything is included, such as off train excursions, meals, drinks, including alcohol, and free transfers. Its much cheaper (usually) to fly and way quicker if you just want to get from A-B
These people expect a train like this to be really cheap, *_and_* they also expect there to be HSR across Australia as well.
THE PRICE IS GOOD BUT THEY LOST ME AT NO PRIVATE TOILET🤭
@@Neville60001 These kinds of trains are more like cruise ships on rails.
Thank you for the explanation. But, still not enough to do it justice. Sorry 😊
@@1PlainOne Gold Twin cabins have a compact en suite with toilet, washbasin and shower.
The bonfire early in the morning, as the sun rose, made this my favorite train trip that I’ve ever watched. I would absolutely cherish and drink in the moment.
Thank you, Kuga our videos continue to inspire me. Gentle humor, respect, and gratitude are all humbly present in the background. You set a fine example for us all.
Well said and my sentiments exactly.
Welcome to Australia Kuga san! I hope our trains bring you as much joy as I get watching your videos on Japan’s trains.
@@Kugas_Travel. I hope you come back to Australia again 😀
4:42 a cuppa, youre practically Aussie now Kuga-san!
@@Kugas_Travel. A fake Kuga-san has appeared!
one thumb-up for the alien-distance
🖖
Oooh! Here it comes! Looking forward to this one Kuga-san!! 🎉
Again, thank you for another lovely video, Kuga! 👍!!!!
I HAVE MISSED YOUR VIDEOS AND GOOD HUMOR. I HAVE TRAVELED WITH YOU IN ALL OF YOUR VIDS. THANK YOU FOR SHARING TO AMERICA WHERE I LIVE. I WILL KEEP FOLLOWING YOU WHERE EVER YOU GO...
Great trip. Finally you try The Ghan, every train enthusiasm wishlist.
I love how you throw yourself into your train journies it gives a real sense of your true feelings as you travel. Your comments are simp,e and to the point .. no embellishments just factual and informative. Grest to see you enjoying out outback or as we refer to it as the bush. McDonalds to us Aussies is Maccas or The Golden Arches Restaurant and you are spot on they can't do breakfast like you had. Fantastic to see you loving your experiences in Oz the same as I enjoyed mine in Japan. Enjoy the rest of your stay with us. Bushyboy Oz.
During the Summer months The Ghan becomes the Great Southern. Nice to see you have our lingo down. 😊
OMG! Cliffhanger! I thought it was going to end with Kuga-san stranded in Alice Springs after checking out Uluru and having to hitchhike on a roadtrain or something!! Looking forward to the next instalment! 🎉🇦🇺
I have Australian friends that have never seen Uluru. They suggested that far more tourists visit it than native Australians.
@@RoulinBrooks I fall into that category, I can guarantee that more Australians have seen the Big Banana than Uluru.
@@RoulinBrooks it is a difficult and expensive place to get to. For many Australians (though I have to admit, I'm not to worried about it myself) it's somewhat of a bucket list item. Australians tend to leave Australia until later in life though. Many of us prefer travelling overseas in our younger years. I am just a couple of months back from 6 1/2 weeks in Japan (my sixth trip there in the last decade, and doubtfully to be my last).
I’m so thrilled that you’re here exploring Australia! I hope you have the best time. I fell in love with your videos during many covid lockdowns as it gave me the sense I was still exploring the world and leaving my house haha AND NOW YOU’RE HERE 🇦🇺
The Ghan is on my wishlist of trains to get one day, what an amazing journey.
Me too or the Great Southern
$4000 for 4 days! Overpriced!
Im glad you are enjoying the travel here and the food :)
I think it is the first time I see the man himself behind the videos! Grtz from Belgium
Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful trip. I love it. As i will never be able to this myself. Thanks!
Hey kuga , glad you enjoyed more of our country and please feel free to forward any hospital bills for diabetes treatment 😉
I have been enjoying your travelogues and wicked sense of humour. Hope you have enjoyed my country, Australia. Also good to finally see you in brief cameo appearances. あなたの旅行記とユーモアのセンスを楽しんでいます。僕の国、オーストラリアを楽しんでくれたかな?また、短いカメオ出演でようやく君に会えて嬉しいよ。
I love traveling by train. This would be so much fun.
Thank you. Couldn’t imagine a greater contrast from Japan. 👍🏻🏴🇬🇧🇯🇵
👍🏻❤️
I traveled to Australia in 2016, spent over a month there just south of Adelaide, you need to ride the excursion train that runs south of there at Victor Harbor. Australia has the best food!
I just did gold single cabin class on the 21st-23rd from Adelaide to Darwin recently & I loved it. The food was very good, I would give a 10/10 rating. The sunrise was stunning in Marla & the off the activities were awesome.
I spent a night in Alice Springs many years ago. It took about 4 days to get the fine red dust out of everything I had brought with me. The motel unit was clean when e arrived, but by the time we had opened the door a few times, the red dust was every where.
Dude! I laughed out loud at your Aliens and Light Years comment!!
My sister and I are huge fans of both of your channels. Love your humor! And, yes, sitting with strangers is painful. 🥴😂
Im from Nepal and I like Australia very much.
Looks like a 5 star hotel on wheels with amazing 3 course meals and the service!
You can get kangaroo meat from any supermarket here in Australia but I don’t eat kangaroos unless we go out for special dinner or something but it’s really good for you 😊
thank you Kuga san for trip, i like travel with you :-D
Wow, you showed your face. I'm impressed!
He has before.
@@englishatheartI do wish other video makers would do the same, it is good to see who is entertaining us. Thanks for this, I have enjoyed all your trips.
I don’t know much about Australia but even less about Alice Springs? Seems like the ultimate middle of nowhere location. What a journey though! 👍
I feel your pain on the shared seating in the dining car. I also prefer to sit alone in public.
Travel is better if you make an effort to talk to new people. Be brave.
@@fartaroundfestivalit’s not about bravery at all it’s about wanting to soak up the experience without distractions.
Expand your mind.
Only the loneliest internally need constant outside distractions and chronic attention.
It’s an art form to be comfortable in your own skin and like your own company.
Also who wants to sit next to a boomer bigot.
I get I however sometimes it works but it is bad when it does not
And people prefer you sit alone.
I enjoy the opportunity to meet people from around the world. Yes, sometimes they are not good table mates, but usually we can share our train experiences.
thank you for making the distance clear to us 👽too :D
I’ve been waiting for this vid, well done
What an amazing trip! Thank you for sharing it with us!
What a great journey!
Welcome to Aussie mate, a gr8 video, glad you enjoyed the trip
I've known ppl who have caught this train, and it's no wonder they call it "The Sleeper". If you are fond of counting trees and scrubs, this train ride is for you.😃
Oh, if you really look into the landscape you'll see much variation in colours and textures. 😊
Fantastic video as always Kuga san ! Great to see you are exploring trains all over the world ! I hope if you have a chance you can come to New Zealand for our spectacular scenery trains the 'Northern Explorer' and 'Tranz Alpine'. Only 3 hours flight from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne to Auckland, Wellington or Christchurch !
It's The Ghan!😁
wow you came to australia !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! love your japan videos love the japan travel vibe.
ive been living here for a long times now but ive never took such a train travel here before. cant wait to see.
He did a vid of the Indian Pacific, Sydney to Adelaide before this
What a trip! Thanks for your report, Kuga! Hope you enjoy your following journeys! :)
Another Excellent video.
Australia es una maravilla de pais una naturaleza distinta misteriosa y enigmatica pero es un pais del primer orden cariños para australia😊 ❤
I did the Indian Pacific from Adelaide to Perth. Two nights. And that was when they still had economy seats. Which is where I was sat. ........
I'd go to the lounge car (where passengers weren't supposed to sleep), sit on a banquette with my legs up, open my book on my lap, and pretend I accidentally fell asleep while reading.
Don't regret the journey at all. How many people can say they've been to Cook, South Australia? And I had kangaroo steak in the dining car.
Very, very good presentation! Congratulations for your video!
Hi from Canada, some beautiful scenery, the food looked amazing as well.
So glad you have lost of journeys and I am looking forward to many more with you ❤
The table sharing though, not for me! I'm too introverted! Awkward!
lots
Thanks a lot for this beautiful journey.
Had I known you were coming to Australia, especially South Australia, I would have met you at the Port Augusta platform as I believe the train stops for a moment 18:12 I live near only 80kms down in Whyalla. It would have been my pleasure to see you and welcome you to South Australia.
Wow. I thought North Dakota was FLAT. Outback Aussies OWN flat!
It was a pretty amazing trip. I am also a train enthusiast from Indonesia. Greetings from RAILFANS INDONESIA... 😉
Well, that is going right on the bucket list, what a beautiful country.
What a wonderful trip
My Father worked for an American Railway in its "hay day". We went everywhere on a train. I loved looking out the window and seeing the scenery pass by. Those were the days of travel... Thanks for bringing back the memories..
I noticed that in the last few videos we can actually see who you are. Nice change from just hands :)))
Typical Japanese fellow
Thank you for the wonderful video.
"for the aliens out there" 😂 love the humor!
Oh, I remember studying about this train from an excerpt in my English grammar book when I started high school! And even then, I did feel intrigued at the level of services The Ghan offered.
Oh what fun it is to ride on the trains.I lived in Australia ,first in Perth ,then by the time I was ready to go home I traveled across the Naulabar Plain. On the train. It was a long trip,All day,all night into the next afternoon.I loved it all. But was very tired.😂🎉❤
I think you might be confused about The Ghan, as we have a train called The Indian Pacific which is the longest train journey in Australia. The distance from Adelaide to Darwin by rail is 2,797km, whilst the distance from Sydney to Perth by rail is 4,352km. They are both exceptional train journeys.
I think he meant the train was long, not the journey. He traveled on the Indian Pacific in his previous video, and he mentioned the length.
Best of best wishes and congratulations for remarkable journey
19:50 correction, Australian tourism THINKS that all international visitors want nothing more than to eat kangaroo - its not a staple, but you can buy it in the supermarket.
I just don't want to get beat up by one.
@@areareare9953 those back legs can kill...but you could think of them as gigantic drumsticks
I tried it not a fan especially when I get the Roos in my yard. I do invite them for cuppa and a biscuit.
Too chewy for me, like rubber.
Excellent video. Thank you for sharing. Cheers.
Thank you Kuga, such amazing scenery, and that food really made my mouth water, very nice video.
Great video!
really nice video, thanks for your hard work uploading this and your other content.
That was great! Thank you!
This made me laugh so much. Gold! 😂🙏
Really enjoying your travels Kuga! Thanks for always bringing us along 👍🏻😊
If you didn't take at least one night in Alice Springs to look up at the sky, you missed a great opportunity. That is probably one of the best places on earth to observe our Milky Way.
Wow...! It's Awesome and Looks interesting! :)
This is only my 2nd day of watching your videos as I am new to the channel but I was a convert before I ever finished the first one. I like the tone of your work and I like the content.....I am looking forward to catching up on your work....thanks for making a senior citizen part of your world
Once again an excellent video! The room, the food, and the smooth skies....Interesting to see an active K-Mart in Alice Springs!
I like the serpentine hallway in the sleeping car.
Ok, you got me hooked! 3.1488x1e-10 light years! Bwahahahaha! Most people won't have a clue what that means! Well done! I love that!
Ageless Budd cars look shiny brand new.
The Ghan has nothing to do with previous nickname. The route is named after the Afghanis who emigrated to Australia and moved goods on camels on the same route. Fun fact - Australia has a LOT of feral camels.
Yay, you got a forward facing seat! My one fear of going on a the Ghan or Indian Pacific is that I will have to sit backwards :(
Thank you for translating the distance to light years. We aliens have trouble understanding the units of distance you Earthlings use.
Very good elucidation of the long train journey in Australia.
Thank God !! that 3.14881e-10 light-years...really puts into perspective...Thank you.
As a German i prefer Morr for Cuises, he is speaking fluently and very sympathetic, but next comes You!! Your humor touches me, go on with your journey around the world. Bei shure, i accomponie you!!
Hello Kuga,
thankx for this nice informative video and it was good to see you this time in person. I bet you were the youngest passanger when I saw al die oldies getting in at Adelaide.........

The "Ghan" single room is much nicer than the roomette on the "Canadian" I rode last month...though I prefer a private toilet.
Best wishes
Great Video
As an alien fan, thank you for putting kilometres into light years! Beep boop (that means 'I'm a big fan' in alien).
Fantastic
I love sitting with strangers and hearing their stories, even though I’m quite introverted.
3.14881e-10 light years, Thank God I have a bicycle. I packed a sandwich too. 😊
