Steve Perry was born and raised about 25 miles from where I live. Journey has been a part of my entire life. Great to see a Central Valley boy heard all around the world
Great reaction. Your Journey into Journey has only just begun. The Journey rabbit hole is deep and vast. Steve Perry lead singer here with Neal Schon on lead guitar made some incredible music together. Journey On.
MALADYETS!! You're the first reviewer/reactor of this song to make mention of his Stellar vocals during the guitar solo! I'd really love to hear a voice coach talk about the vocal technique and difficulty level of that bit.
Great song, a classic. One of the guys who wrote this song, Robert Fleischman, came close to blowing the speakers in my car when I was giving him a ride to the airport once. Worked with Journey a few times back in the day, concert production.
I have to give you kudos for being one of the few to notice that Steve was singing those notes that took you to the stratosphere during the guitar solo.
Rik Emmets voice is a high falsetto. He was lead guitarist and one of two singers of the 3 piece power trio Triumph of Canada. A live song is best. I recommend Fight The Good Fight from the 1983 US Festval in San Bernadino, California where they performed in front of 350,000 people.
Your little Frenchie lol Listening with headphones, I hear so much snoring 😂 Journey is legendary! You’ll find very few songs you dislike. Steve Perry was an incredible singer.
The Lead Singer is Steve Perry AKA "The Voice", He was just Playing here! Check out "Mother, Father", "Open Arms" "Who's Crying now from their Live in Houston 81' concert. Remember this is live, before auto tune, and yes, Journey is best seen Live.
Journey is actually going on tour soon with another legendary group: Toto. Steve Perry (the lead singer) has pretty much retired since but their new lead singer Arnel Pineda has an amazingly very similar voice. Also a very inspiring story: he was very poor living on the street at one point, but was discovered singing Journey songs on UA-cam while the band was looking for a new lead singer.
Journey is a real mess right now. They fired Steve Smith and Ross Vallory not a long time ago and now there is a lawsuit between Neal Svhon and Jonathan Cain. There were rumors, that Neal Schon wanted Steve Perry back in the band, but I don't know if it is true and if it is possible at all.
@@martinmarenov7460 I'm willing to believe Neal wanted Steve back, but I don't think Steve is interested. He turned down the chance to perform when they got inducted into the R & R hall of fame, I get the impression he'd rather be out of the spotlight at this point and go out gracefully. He's 73 and I think he's starting to lose his voice. It happens....🤷♂️
Please try Journey “Faithfully” and “Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin” for an even more epic performance! BTW love your content snoring dog in the background!! Cheers!
Irina happy you continue to explore older music and enjoy and appreciate it. Even more amazing your mom was born in 1978. Would not have guessed that. I bet when you are together it is quite a site. Obviously she raised a smart and beautiful daughter. Keep up the classic rock reviews. Спасибо большое.
New subscriber here! You are awesome as well as beautiful Irina! I am American and yes I have been to Russia. It was back in 2006 before all the madness in RU started! Journey rules!
Hi Irina! I really enjoy your reactions. You asked if there was a singer that you should react to? If you're wanting a vocalist, I can offer two. Dimash Kudaibergen, S.O.S. Diana Ankudinova, Can't Help falling in Love. They are two very incredible singers.
So this is the first time you've ever seen anyone perform in a robe? You haven't delved enough into early 70's music enough yet. One band that performed in robes was 'Rush', back in the mid-70's. Not sure if you'd like them, as they were a Progressive Rock band with a heavy sound (all three members were masters of their instruments). But, if you ever want to give them a listen (and see the robes), check out 'Closer to the Heart' or 'Xanadu'.
after this...try react to Angelina Jordan, i put a spell on you,9years old, black and white version, the barefoot princess of jazz, but she can sing any genre of music, this is a shocking one,Angelina in beast mode, many great covers, some originals..all on YT,next superstar
I think it would be cool if you explained to us some Russian music. I like to listen to Kino a lot, as well as some other Russian rock artists. What do you think?
Would you please do a reaction to one of the best bands from Romania, they are Shut Up and Kiss Me and they are performing "California Dreamin". It's really good....
What you should do, to really hear Steve Perry? The song "Faithfully". Here's the link- ua-cam.com/video/OMD8hBsA-RI/v-deo.html However, to go the other way, compare him with this gentleman, Felix Irwan (ear-wan), doing an Adele cover, like you've not heard before. He's from your generation- so the old ways aren't dead yet... lol - Here's his link- ua-cam.com/video/LlcqsFOIRmc/v-deo.html Liquid gold does describe Steve Perry- I've seen Journey several times, live- He was EXACTLY the same live, as on his album. Felix? Goes the other way, lower voice. I think you're treally going to enjoy this one as well.
Greetings 💕 I've been watching your videos and I've loved them a lot, I want to suggest a talent from my country 🇻🇪 called LR96 - Con Un Blunt, blessings to you!
6:38 I'm not sure if this is what you were talking about but as a musician what I think you might have been referencing, which I'm not sure 100% applies here because I don't think there was a mistake, but the idea in general if you're just jamming or coming up with something or in a live performance even if you do something different on something you know really well, but if it's a flub of any sort but you're really into it as a musician? Doesn't matter even floods are going to be representative what you're feeling musically and so yeah repeating it is an old Jazz trick that at least goes back to 1930s probably older. And then you make it a motif. How many great songs do we know that that is what gives the song The personality. That is where it's strayed from the standard path and that's what makes it stand out to us and remember it. But yeah great observation!
thanks so much for the reaction. you are one of the few reactors who noticed Steve was singing during the guitar solo - which was amazing to me. can you do Guardian - "Dr. Jones & the Kings of Rhythm" please. ua-cam.com/video/CjoSPkN0Jg8/v-deo.html
I want you to know that you're doing a good job at what you're doing and making people happy and what you're doing on your channel is helping you to know what the world that we live in is better God-bless you
Wonderful review Irina! Journey was considered soft rock after singer in this song Steve Perry joined the group. There became disagreements within the band to get softer or not, but Steve's softer song ballad style won because sales skyrocketed after he joined.
Another great reaction. Based on your comments at the end, I really think you should listen to Ramble On by Led zeppelin. I just have a feeling you totally dig it. If you have already listened to it, I apologize, I don't know your catalog that well yet.
1978? I was 20 and had been listening to Journey for about 4 or 5 years. I saw these guys back in 1982 & 1983 at Brendan Byrne Arena in East Rutherford, NJ. Saw this done live. You would be impressed by the quality of performance and voice range!! Of Course Steve Perry Was Also Very Great in Journey!! Great Reaction Beautiful young lady... Hello from New Hampshire U.S.A 🤘😎🤪
You should react to Rasputin by Boney M if you haven’t heard it before! ua-cam.com/video/16y1AkoZkmQ/v-deo.html. It’s a German-Caribbean group singing in English about a Russian story
Hi Irina, I am happy to see you are getting to know more Rock music. That is the era I grew up in, one recommendation I would like to make is "I'll never let you go" by Steelheart and here is the link ua-cam.com/video/F-nyeiKk35M/v-deo.html. Happy Listening
Check out Paul Rogers…..he is much better singer and still relevant…..he started in the sixties and has excelled in many bands….Steve Perry has played with only one group Journey…..And has semi retired from the industry
John Rob posted," Did you pierce your tongue?" John Rob admitted to being an opioid addict&cried an apology to Irina months ago in comments, for his rude actions.

Best concert I ever experienced was Journey, Styx and REO Speedwagon.
my first and my favorite Journey song.
I need to tell you something I love your dog so much 🙃
Great song, a classic. One of the guys who wrote this song, Robert Fleischman, came close to blowing the speakers in my car when I was giving him a ride to the airport once. Worked with Journey a few times back in the day, concert production.
So glad you heard his voice during the guitar solo....Just that alone got me hooked on Journey..............
I remember listening to this in 78 in high school. This is the best song of Journey along with City of Angels. Lotta of KEG parties hearing this song
Same band...Mother Father (LIVE)...mind blowing
Journey had SO many great songs, and Steve Perry was one of the best rock tenors of all time. Wonderful, Irina! 😃
No, that would be Meatloaf.

I have to give you kudos for being one of the few to notice that Steve was singing those notes that took you to the stratosphere during the guitar solo.

Journey was one of these groups that everybody liked, but not me. Thanks for vid Irina.

Not falsetto. His natural voice is just high.
Journey happens is my number 1 favorite band.
Boston is number 2
Whitesnake is 3

New? He's been with the band for 17 years.

Arnel's dialect is what keeps him more of a karaoke singer than a true singer like Steve Perry. Steve Perry is Journey.
LOL! I kept hearing this 'growl' and I was like, "Am I crazy?! What the fuck is that noise?" ...and then I realized it was the dog.
Great reaction to a really good song coming from a kickass band.......
Late 70's and 80's music was and still is the best.
❤❤❤❤❤ Maria a Russinha mais linda, Steve Perry his parents are Portugueses from Açores Islands, he spokes Portuguse

Try "Funeral for a friend/Love lies bleeding" by Elton John(1973).
Journey is one of the best bands and singers with him singing In the Band
Good pick …..one of the top male lead singers in rock history. Steve Perry
God, 45 years ago I was at one of their concerts. Time goes by too fast.
