  • Come with me and visit the beautiful walled garden at The Old Manor House, a garden created with care, love and enjoyed by so many. Step into the greenhouse while it rains (for a change!) and we can see what is growing, then we'll wander around the heritage orchard before returning to the walled garden to see the rest of the beautiful plants!

Greetings from Maine, US. I’m only catching this now, but it’s just when I need it the most. Waiting for spring.❤. I love your greenhouse. It’s a working greenhouse and those are the most beautiful!

Hello, Summer seems such a long time ago but it is only around the corner again. I have bought lots of seeds so I'll be posting those when I get them planted up! Had a good tidy up in there yesterday :-)

I love that your brain is giving the tour, video taping, as well as catching that destructive little snail--good catch!!! The lovely thing of tending my garden is knowing it so well. And what impresses me about your tour is the number of plants that you have actually propagated from SEED!

I used to think i couldn't multi-task but you've made me realise that's what it's all about, I don't know about you but I start one job and end up doing twenty! I enjoy growing from seed, it saves so much money and it's much better than driving around looking for them :-)

Justin, pleased to see the Helenium is thriving. If I recall it was a Helenium Rotgold hybrid. Possibly Autumnal. Love seeing how things have developed at Southwood ❤️

I think your greenhouse looks really tidy and well done for rescuing all the plants that had self seeded in your front garden. Walled gardens are lovely aren't they? This garden really does look so nice Justin but I don't envy you having to clip all the hedges.

I don't like seeing things go to waste so instead of weeding the gravel I go around with a table fork and lift them all out, gives me a lot of satisfaction when they're all free. I could do with some help the hedges are at least 200metres in length if you add them all up!

What is the Foxglove name @minute 15:17? Thanks. It's all so lovely!

It's a wonderful plant and comes back every year unlike the other varieties. Digitalis ferruginea aka the Rusty Foxglove, I grew these ones from seed which was really easy to do.
