A Walk Around The Old Manor House Gardens, new potting shed and a little gardening!

- Join me on a walk around the gardens at The Old Manor House. We'll be looking at the developments around the greenhouse including a new potting shed and landscaping around it. Wandering around the Walled Garden, enjoying the Tulips and then we'll have a look at some of the urns I've planted up. Following that we have a look along the driveway with the extensive flower beds which are full of Spring colour. We'll finish be having quick look at the front of the beautiful 364 year old Manor House which will soon be bursting with colour.
Thank you for your wonderful comments, I love reading them! It's lovely to be able to share my work with you all around the world, gardening although it is a wonderful thing it can be very isolating and so having you on my journey makes it all the more worthwhile.

The garden is looking lovely Justin. You and your colleagues do an amazing job keeping everything under control. Hope storm Kathleen hasn't done any damage to the gardens at work or at home. I had a few Tulips that took a battering which is annoying but at least everyone is safe which is the main thing. I love the new potting shed. I'm sure that you will make good use of it.

It is a lovely tree, it looks much older. In a few months we'll be eating all the lovely fruits!

Hi Justin, just what I needed after a busy day - a nice hot cuppa and relaxed tour of the Old Manor House's gardens 😆😄 And I had a good giggle at the blue anemones' name 🤣 Your new potting shed is super, and it was nice to see the progress there too - from canes marking future beds to everything in situ!
The walled and formal gardens are looking beautiful - well, everything is looking beautiful, actually! And that adorable little robin that was happily perching on Alice's head made me smile ☺️ Well done, you've worked hard! Have a super week!
It's a really magical place, I will tell the story one day how I ended up there it was quite by chance, maybe fate lent a hand! It's lovely to have a space just for that, I enjoy using the shed and the garden cat Benny comes and sits with me when he's not chasing away all the others. I have some sweet peas to go up the canes so will plant those tomorrow and get everything looking smart ready for our big open day in a couple of weeks! I hope you have had a nice week, the birds have been keeping me company including the little robin!
@@justinthegardener Hi Justin, I love sweet peas! My gran ALWAYS planted them, and then would send me into the garden to pick bunches of long-stemmed blooms to fill her vases 😄 Did you get yours planted today?

It became a bit of a stressful week, but I've had a lovely weekend and spent most of today in the garden - pottering, planting and pulling out. I was totally amazed - twice!! - because for YEARS I've always tossed out my green pepper seeds and cores (?) into a huge garden pot outside the kitchen door in the hopes they'll grow, and today I discovered a cluster of at least 20 tiny little green pepper plants, not even an inch tall but my aunt confirmed they are green peppers. 😆🌱🌱🌱 Then, I wanted to use a bit of a scraggly looking pot under my very small olive tree for something else, and when I pulled the pot away, there were 12 or so small olive plants growing!! 😆😆😆 I could hardly believe my eyes!! So the pot was very promptly returned to its spot. Quite the exciting day!! 🌱🌱🌱🌱🌱
That's so sweet that Benny and the robin keep you company! Hopefully Benny doesn't chase any of the birds 😆🙈 Yesterday morning I didn't put the radio on when I got up, the birdsong was just so beautiful that I listened to that until Tim started instead (classic fm).

Thank you, it's a lovely place that we're improving all the time, all of us involved love being a part of it. We open for charity a couple of times a year and do group visits too, the first one is in the next couple of weeks so we're quite excited!

Thank you, ideally you propagate it by layering, as there are lots of roots on the stems that will readily grow if they come into contact with some earth, you just bury a stem with roots on, leave it a few months then it if has rooted you can cut it off and plant it elsewhere :-)

Hello, it is about 10 miles away from where I live, I look after my Mum most of the time and my own garden, the big garden I do what I can and with some help too. I hope your tulips are doing well, it's Tulip time at the moment so I'm looking forward to making a video all about them :-)
I'm in Somerset and our box hedges have been killed off completely now.
They're really taking a battering, I'm hoping they'll recover but looking into a new blight resistant variety and starting new ones
