Great reaction guys. I think there are some people disappointed that Tina didn't come back with a metal band where shes shredding all over the place, but i agree with your comments. Everyone knows she can do that, what we didn't know is if she could take that ability and fit into a band dynamic and I think she and they did a great job. I've also listened to this song without the vocals and there are a numerous guitar layers going on and she does get more technical near the end. All in all, decent song. I'm just glad she's back and still playing guitar.
@johnhawkins_twa Indeed, it is great to see Tina back making music and to see where the musical journey will go. It showed a lot of respect to the other members that she didn't come in and take over the show, the singer had a really good voice, not too heavy and a nice tone and the drummer was putting in some complicated fills too. They could be a very interesting band to follow. Thanks for watching and the comment. All the best
The fact she is showing the humility to not take over and just play what was needed fr the song rather than making it about her incredible ability is one of things I respect the most about it... I do like the song, it wasn't what I was expecting, but really liked it.
@stillracer2514 Cheers Stillracer, we will hold off checking those out for now to see if Tina will follow this video up with something else. Very interesting to see where they will go next and also, hasn't she grown up.
Great to see Tina back after 7 years ❤ Nice song, good vocals... like his voice... Just needed an epic solo from Tina to make the song great ❤️ Thats my take on it 👍
Okay, so, I could be wrong, but I think what's going on is that she's managing expectations here. First of all, it's not just about her. It's about the whole band, and she doesn't want to necessarily pull it all out on every song, and lose the feel of the band. She's playing the music that she's into. Second of all, it would be pretty miraculous for anybody to get up on a stage and perfectly Play Moonlight Sonata every night flawlessly. But when you play something like that, that's what people expect from it. Flawlessness. This is a song that she can play night after night in a club, and it doesn't have to be necessarily perfect, or, it's easy enough that she can play it without having to worry about messing it up. When she's doing live shows, she will likely have a solo section in the show where she can highlight her skill. Everybody already knows what she can do. Maybe she just wants to be a normal albeit hyper qualified guitarist, without having to practice for 12 hours a day. What do you think? I guess but my point is that she doesn't have to live up to anybody else's expectations. I'm really happy that she still playing. I'm happy that she's okay, maybe she doesn't want to have to maintain everything that she was doing before. And that's okay. She's already done all of that. She already has the notoriety. She's already friends with rock stars. Maybe now she can just be herself and make music on her terms. Great video guys.
this is what tina s says on FB about the 7 years she was gone After focusing on guitar technique for several years, I needed a change, both personally and musically. Over the last few years, I've been exploring a new world, that of composing and working in a band. Today I'm proud to present you, with my band @SpinTwice, our very first EP called Gravity.
For the record I love this and the other two tracks I have heard. I have to laugh at some of the negative and disappointed comments on Tina's return. I mean what are these people trying to say, that she is not a very good guitarist anymore??? Get a life, we all know that she can out shred and play probably every other guitarist on the planet!!!
I'm not crazy about this music. BUT.. We all know Tina by her incredible guitar videos. I thank her for those outstanding performances. For me,, if she is doing what she enjoys, I'm all in. If it is not what we/I expect or want, no matter. If she is happy, I am delighted for her. She owes us/me nothing. She has already given us inspiration.
Great Reaction. I guess some Tina S fans want 'none-stop shredding'. I'm thrilled and delighted she's back making music. Especially after the trolling from some certified 24ct d!cks. A half dozen listens, it grows every time. Tina S's brief 'shred' and tapping riffs put a big smile on my face. 😀 I _liked_ the restraint by Tina. It's their first single together. Balancing the band dynamics was maybe important. We know Tina has a lot of 'Headroom'. I hope their EP sells. Thank you for doing this. I hope your reaction gets her more views. I hadn't heard it when I emailed you, but I'm concerned she'll likely suffer a backlash for 'not shredding enough'. So open-minded reviewers might keep her spirits up too. 👍 *9.4* seems about right. "Hard Indy"! 😀👍👏 *Tasty* I enjoy the breaks and changes, and many guitar parts. More than a simple rock song. AFAIK, Tina's never played in a band, only a mentor/teacher. So they might need an albums-worth to fully 'gel'. I think I get the _Feeder_ reference, but not the _Pet shop Boys._ The start feels a bit Red Hot Chilli Peppers. I like RHCP, so 👍👍start! Then it feels familiar, but I can't put a name to the band yet. The drums feels familiar. Paramore? I liked the balance of vocals (and not too growly) and guitars. The multi-layered guitars is great. Probably inevitable given her ridiculous skills. However, those many layers, and some of the production (eg. panning during a strum), might be a real bu66er to perform live. I've never seen any videos of her playing to an audience So she might not be focused on playing live. Also she got a lot of grief on-line from trolls, even claiming she was miming, or had died in a car crash. So playing live might not matter. I read comments, maybe a year ago, that Tina had registered a company, and her business was 'music studio'. So the studio scenes in the video _might_ be her studio. Best Wishes, Chaps. ☮
Nice choice G! Yes, now that you say it I do get some Red Hot Chili Peppers in the beginning! There are many different vibes in this one. I listed some in my comment and so did Tundiel. I think it's a little of all of them.
@gbulmer Cheers G-Man and thanks for thinking of us and giving us the heads-up, we would have probably missed Tina's return. The intro is 100% RHCP and after hearing it back, I am not entirely sure where I got Pet Shop boys from 😁
@stevel4265 That's a really good spot on the guitar., I noticed it was a "Vigler" and read she was endorsed by them when she was younger, good to see she has stayed with the brand.

Yeah I get a shade of Evanescence and I didn't think of it earlier but yes a bit of Disturbed I can hear too. From what I remember of Pet Shop Boys I didn't get that but it's been a while.😁
@firefighterchick to me, Pet Shop Boys is all about the synths. I'm trying to think what made BP2 think of them. He said vocally, but I'm not hearing anything remotely Neil Tennant-ish from this dude. The idea of Neil Tennant semi- growling is rather amusing though. Did you know that The Pet Shop Boys made a movie called 'It Couldn't Happen Here' back around 1990? It's the most bizarre, crazy, right up my ally quirky movie ever. It has a bit of a cult following. Not quite as great as Rocky Horror. But then, what is? 😍
Definately got Linken Park vibes for sure and this is not doubt just a teaser of more to come. The song is actually very good although i was hoping it would have gone a bit longer with Tina cracking out on lead to really ram it home. The goss is she has been busy focusing on finishing her sound engineering degree at Uni hence the long lull away from social media. Also it is mentioned the neck tatts aren't permanent. With her talent we are sure of more banger songs yet to be released
@lordlockdown64 Cheers LLJ, yup Evanescence and Linkin Park plus RHCP are all in there, when I heard it back. Not quite sure myself on the Pet Shop Boys now 😜
Nice choice G Man! I have never heard of her or them before. I do like the sound. It's more up my alley because it's a harder rock sound. I get hard rock blending on heavy metal late 90s to the early 2000s. I don't know if you guys know the band Skillet but the lead singer has shades of their lead singer in his tone with the ending instrumental very much sounding like them. I get a bit of Linkin Park in their sound as well more than what I remember of the Pet Shop Boys. Although I haven't listened to Pet Shop Boys in a long minute. I would like to hear more of her individually and the band. I don't know the band Feeder unless I've heard songs not knowing it was by them. @firefighterchick We both enjoyed this as a nice Harder Rock song, not too heavy on the vocals to keep it easy on the ear and the nice layering and building of the track. Very interested to see where Tina and Spin Twice will go.,
Latest news, the Spin Twice group no longer exists. Thomas Smagghe reforms his old group CHASING DAISY, but without TINA, and releases a new song in early 2024: CHEWBACCA
The main emphasis for Spin Twice seems to be vocals. Vocalist has a good voice, but nothing really outstanding. Tina is sort of just there hitting chords.
He’s one of the greatest guitarist ever heard in this band didn’t do her any favors. There should’ve been a solo and a long solo to show her talent to me. It was just an average song that could’ve been played with any guitars.
So most people here rate the song simply because Tina is part of the band. I judge based on your ability and I like to say that you are the embodiment of a guitar god, whether male or female. The song and groove are good but it's not fantastic. I didn't have goosebumps nor did a wow pass my lips. I even say without Tina's rhythmic interludes the song would be below average.
I have listened to the song several time i have also read some criticism because Tina doesn't do a long solo but if you listen closely you realize Tina has layered several guitar tracks to back the song that are really good i have high hopes for this band but they need to understand we are here for Tina ..
They need to understand nothing of the sort. Let Tina do what she wants/likes. OK she was great, then she met a boy (or whatever). Now she's back but you can't expect virtuoso performances all the time. Remember, there's only one Tina S., whilst you are just one grain of sand among many.
I have seen from the first day...I cry everytime I hear this song...If Tna create this song..uff what a future!!..For me is the sound of Linking Park...
I know she is just plain gifted. But was really heart broken when she appears covered in tattoos. (Of course this has no bearing on her abilities) as a package it is very distracting. Q? Why did she want to look most of the rest??? If tattoos are so much art, why hide them behind clothes. Sorry, just makes absolutely no since. I almost don't even want to look at the technique of her hand movment. 😢 (i do understant it is entirely her choice)
Tina is the best but she doesn't want to show it too much. in the future we will get some big guitar solos in the future. But there is no little smile on her face. Psychological problems? Or even her style?
you're speculating so much. not externalizing one's emotions doesn't at all mean their absence, they're just not projected outwards. Some people are actually less irritating with chuckling and making grimasses when they play.
Tina s. Is dead.too bad what could have been. being married to a band member destroys her creativity ,my hope is dump this stupid band and get back to sherding but that is highly unlikely. It’s like Jeff beck playing the flute.
TINA S. IS DEAD.IF SHE IS ENGAGED OR MARRIED,SHE WILL NOT CHANGE,TOO BAD THIS BAND IS AVERAGE OR BORING,TWO YEARS FROM NOW WHAT EVER HAPPENED TO TINA S, TWO KIDS, ITHOUGHT THERE WAS ACHANCE BUT NO UNTAPPED POTENTIAL.
I will swear by Tina, she's a sweetheart. Her cover of Becker's ''Altitudes'' is something even most sober electric guitar virtuosos be dropping their jaws from after watching it. Spin Twice?? - meh.. I think we must have entered some alternative dimension or universe. I'm starting to believe something happened with the timeline, ever since from 2019 the world is unrecognizable from what it's been before. To worse.
I'm very, very disappointed, whe all expecting virtuoso Tina, new Stiv Vai, not bed copy kid bend from 90.BP1 is right, if she seven years lose for this, than this is bed, I love her, I wish her a best, but im very disappointed 🙏🙏🙏
This is rubish, kid band, mainstrem music prepare for distribution, guitar doesn't exsist, I love her, I wait for her comeback 7.years,and this is all she do it, bad copy of Linking Park, whe need virtuozo Tina, old Tina not kid music, very, very bad,I didn't believe that she sold her soul for rubish kid music
She is back let her some time to shine. I really liked it.

Linkin Park vibes I would say, great to see her intigrating into a band and not just a solo shredder.
Yes! Linkin Park great vibes ...

Almost Lincoln Park-ish! I liked it!
I'm just glad she's still alive.
Love Tina, ordered the EP but wishing for songs that have Tina showing off her talents in guitar breakdowns..
We need an album
I believe she is also playing the bass !!!

I found this as good as half the new Metallica album. Not bad for a first band for her, not bad at all. Congratulations Tina S. Peace/JT
Loved it.

*9.4* seems about right. "Hard Indy"! 😀👍👏
*Tasty* I enjoy the breaks and changes, and many guitar parts. More than a simple rock song.
AFAIK, Tina's never played in a band, only a mentor/teacher. So they might need an albums-worth to fully 'gel'.
I think I get the _Feeder_ reference, but not the _Pet shop Boys._

Yes, now that you say it I do get some Red Hot Chili Peppers in the beginning!
There are many different vibes in this one.
I listed some in my comment and so did Tundiel.
I think it's a little of all of them.
Sounds like three days grace, a Canadian band.
@daleynez6466 damn...Yeah, I can see that too a little bit!😆
@gbulmer
Cheers G-Man and thanks for thinking of us and giving us the heads-up, we would have probably missed Tina's return.
The intro is 100% RHCP and after hearing it back, I am not entirely sure where I got Pet Shop boys from 😁
LOVED it, G-Man!
Check out the new Tina s number called gravity
they sound like a modern version of linkin park cheers from down under
"Pet Shop Boys"😂well one of the guys above knows sweet fa about music if he thinks there is a comparison with ST and the PSB's.
As far as I recall she only played that green guitar in one video the Gary Moore cover which was more blues
@stevel4265
That's a really good spot on the guitar.,
I noticed it was a "Vigler" and read she was endorsed by them when she was younger, good to see she has stayed with the brand.
I think she’s playing great…
Vive la France !!!
I'd compare this style of song most to "Rise Against".
I'm not getting Pet Shop Boys at ALL. You've totally confused me there 🤣🤣🤣

Thank you for the credit, but I recommended this to "the boys" before I'd heard it. I suggested it because she'd been silent for 7 years, from 17yo, and they'd reacted to her before. I thought she'd do something interesting.
Examples of 'old' Tina S (14yo-17yo):

Her 'Pièce de résistance' is probably:
_Ludwig van Beethoven - Moonlight Sonata ( 3rd Movement ) Tina S Cover_ ua-cam.com/video/o6rBK0BqL2w/v-deo.html 6m:4s I saw a reaction to this by a couple. The woman was a concert pianist who'd played this several times. She said she thought it was note perfect, and a pianist has 10 fingers.

The girl bassist MARION has already left the group !
I have seen from the first day...I cry everytime I hear this song...If Tna create this song..uff what a future!!..For me is the sound of Linking Park...
Mountain metal I agree with you.
Her 'emotions' while playing have always been very subtle. Look at her cover of 'The Loner' and watch only her face.
you're speculating so much. not externalizing one's emotions doesn't at all mean their absence, they're just not projected outwards. Some people are actually less irritating with chuckling and making grimasses when they play.
business degree not medical
👍🏻
Tina s. Is dead.too bad what could have been. being married to a band member destroys her creativity ,my hope is dump this stupid band and get back to sherding but that is highly unlikely. It’s like Jeff beck playing the flute.
Pet Shop boys singer?😮😮. Very far of that..
To worse.
I thought it sucked.
one flower put on the 🐷
I'm very, very disappointed, whe all expecting virtuoso Tina, new Stiv Vai, not bed copy kid bend from 90.BP1 is right, if she seven years lose for this, than this is bed, I love her, I wish her a best, but im very disappointed 🙏🙏🙏
It is *_very clear_* from your comments how much you _"love her"_ and want her to control her music..
Best Wishes. ☮
I suggest thst you start a band and play what YOU want. 🤦♂️
