    Tina was using the whammy bar to get the strange noise. You may notice that right before she did that, on the video you see she moved the whammy bar all the way to the back of the guitar. Then when she slapped it with her picking hand the springs in the bar compress and expand again giving that bounce in the tone .
    Quite a trick for a 15 year old school kid! Love Tina!

      That isn’t her trick. Steve Vai actually does that in this song. Watch “Temple Music Academy”s channel. Does a lot of Tina S reactions and being a guitar teacher, explains what’s going on with the advanced playing.

    that part where she slides her right hand back, she is flicking the tremolo bar - if you look she has the tremolo bar pointed back - she presses down on the bar and snap releases it in one motion - this makes the note go up and down fast as the bar vibrates. At the same time on her left hand she is bending the note - so she is controlling the pitch with her left hand while she flicks the tremolo bar, so the effect is all intentional and controlled.
    The high notes, she is doing pinch harmonics which is usually 2 octaves higher than the fretted note on the left hand. To do pinch harmonics she lightly touches the string with the side of her thumb on the right hand as she plucks the string, she touches the string 75% of the distance from the fretted left hand. Fun, right?! If her left hand is already high on the fretboard then she'll touch 50% of the length of the string as it's fretted.
    She is so good, incroyable...!

    Hi David. I thought you had reacted to Tina before but then realized it was The Warning. Some quick info... Steve Vai is a guitar legend. His style doesn't resonate with me as I was always more of an Eddie Van Halen fan. Tina took one of his masterpieces and made some subtle changes to create her own version that I like better than the original. She's 16 in this video. She is using a pick, you just can't see it because her right hand is just as good as the left. That sound you were wondering about near the end was made by hitting the tremolo/wammy bar. If you notice, she positioned it pointing back and down. Some general Tina facts: studied classical guitar from the age of 6-13 when she switched to electric under the tutelage of Renaud Louise-Servais, a well know French guitarist. At the age of 14 he started filming her performing covers of well know and very difficult guitar pieces. She releases these covers from the ages of 14-17. At the age of 18 she disappeared from the internet and all social media. All kinds of rumors since with nothing actually factual. The predominant theory is that she went to college. For the Love of God is my favorite of all her covers because she exhibits feel/emotion, not just technical superiority. I would suggest that you don't miss Through the Fire and Flames, Altitudes, The Loner, and her last cover of Beethoven's Midnight Sonata 3rd movement, but all her covers are great. There are a few others you could put together in one reaction because they're not very long. Look forward to more reactions with her and also more The Warning reactions. Oh, and Happy New Year1

    that thing where she's throwing her hand back and grazing the whammy bar is a technique called the, "pussy cat purr". it's accomplished by grazing the whammy bar so that it vibrates making that purr like sound.

    She is using a tremolo bar. Watch her last two fingers grab it. The vibrating noise (i believe called a cat pur) is the bar locked strait back and she is hitting so it vibrates. She does use a pick.

    A millisecond after the pick hits the string, the finger hits the same string, which gives the pinch harmonic (squeal). Not terribly hard to learn, takes a while to perfect it. Whammy bar technique is the same time frame.

    There;s a lot you need to learn about playing guitar.

  • @kunou126
    @kunou126 Рік тому +1

    You are too amazed at simple tricks.
    The high pitched squeals are just pinch harmonics. She's gently touching the string with her thumb as she picks it and it creates a high pitched squeal harmonic.
    When she was down stroking and getting extra distortion she was just sliding the pick down the strings. Watch how she changes the angle of her pick attack so that as she strokes she is sliding the pick about one inch down each string.
    If you're playing acoustic a lot of these tricks don't work because they rely on distortion but really they are easy.
    Her speed and accuracy are definitely to be admired though.
