I just want to add that I'm also an extreme Grizzly Adams fan. It was my all time favorite show. It was through Grizzly Adams that I became a HUGE Thom Pace fan. He has so much great music out there.

Thank you for this great video! Surely Thom's profound words echo the innermost spiritual longing of millions in our world today, even if they may never have actually seen the Grizzly Adams TV series or have yet to discover the impact of this live performance. Today I discovered this treasure on You Tube and it's the first time I heard "Maybe". Tears came to my eyes as the words and music gripped my heart. Thom Pace, you are a blessing to this sad world. I believe God will bless you, for sure!

I'm quite pleased with what I've watched so far. there were a couple glitches were a few seconds were lost here and there but over all I'd recommend them.
I guess to explain the quality, remember this was a 70's show before digital and before VHS became know as a way to record:)- So given all that, I'm more than pleased to be able to see them instead of wishing they would come back on TV :)- good luck
I saw the video of Thom Pace performing it in 1979 and the 2008 video, he sings just a great now as he did in 1979. Such a pretty song and so inspiring. You can't find music like that anymore.
After spending some time comparing this performance to the 79 one and then listening to the CD.I then watched Thom's private performance of this beautiful song in his home studio,with just Thom and his keyboard, and Thom's voice is ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!
So to answer yoor question as to whether we think his voice is as good as it was years ago.YES,I do.The end proves one thing:Lip Synching or not,Thom's naked voice by itself,is GORGEOUS.He doesn't need any back-up vocals at all!

For anyone who thinks that Thom can't sing any more, please go to I Tunes and listen to samples of Thom's latest CD,"Not in Compliance".You don't even have to purchase it.Just listen.If you STILL think he can't sing any more, so be it.Don't just base it on five seconds at the end of the performance, which Thom explained on another post, he didn't have time to properly rehearse.You are entitled to your opinion, but at the very least, it should be an educated one!

ThankYou.Some people believe that the way Thom ended his performance,he isn't really singing.Not true.Technicians behind the stage as well as Thom himself, can control the volume of the mike at any time throughout the performance.And when the music stopped,Thom just continued singing for a moment.I thought that added a very special touch to Thoms fantastic performance.Thom is one of those rare performers who's very underrated.His enormous talent is rarely recognized.

Ein SUPER-TITEL! Einer meiner absoluten Lieblingslieder! Erschienen 1979! In den USA & England nur mit mäßigem Erfolg! Aber wir hier in Deutschland waren ganz verrückt nach dem Lied ( das kommt mir bekannt vor ;-) ) Anfangs gab es den Titel nicht zu kaufen. Thom war damals bei der gleichen Plattenfirma wie ABBA! Und die hatten zu der Zeit gerade Hochkonjunktur und die Verantwortlichen beim Lable wurden von Thom´s Erfolg und der Nachfrage förmlich überrollt! Erst als man merkte wie beliebt der Song ist und wie stark die Nachfrage ist, reagierte man und fing mit dem Pressen im großen Stil an.
Prompt wurde "Maybe" in Deutschland, soviel ich weiß sogar zeitweise zur Nr. 1! Wenn auch mit etwas Verspätung . . .was soll´s - Schwamm drüber!!! :-) Es bleibt ein absoluter Traum-Titel! Er war früher meine Nummer 1 und gehört bis heute zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsliedern!

How right you are. But it's about even more. It's about overcoming that feeling of lonliness, which is just what Adams did. The animals helped him overcome that feeling which is why he preferred animals over people. Growing up as a teenager in the 70s, I was the same, which is why I could relate so well to the song. I only wish this beautiful song had become a hit here in the USA as well. I'll never figure out why, since the wonderful man who wrote and sings it so beautifully is from here.

I watched every episode from this series : "Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" and I loved it
Both songs are similar in nature, and both are extremely beautiful. The world lost John Denver way too soon.

the funny thing is even though he has a fantastic voice, its the message.
Well, the back-up vocals also did a splendid job, but hearing Thom's voice alone at the end was a special treat. I am glad that the camera person allowed Thom's performance to finish instead of shutting off the camera before the end in the 1979 performance and we miss the end. That's the one thing that bothered me. Thom's performance was otherwise perfect.

Von allen Serien die ich kenne hat "Der Mann in den Bergen" das beste Theme aller Zeiten. War früher als Kind ein Muss und auch heute schaue ich es mir immer wieder gerne an, da man dort auch andere tolle Songs von Pace hört, wie z.B. "Friends".
