Yep, sat here messing with the speakers, muting and unmuting audio to try to sort out if there was a problem with my hardware, then he hits the drums and I forgot I had turned up the sound while trying to figure out the problem.
I plugged in my headphones so I could hear the song... then when I heard nothing I turned up the volume to 100 percent. Then I moved the playback to the middle of the video and just about killed my ears. Thanks FIF it was worth it.
Holy shit. No pun intended. In High School a decade plus ago, I used to see these guys play at some church in Annapolis(Arnold) MD, with a bunch of friends. They played with Jimmies Chicken Shack and Good Charlotte. Out of nowhere, the band name popped into my skull. So I did what anyone else would do and youtubered them. Surprised to see they are still going. I went to high school with the trombonist and I think the sax player. Fuck, time flies.
Whoa whoa whoa!!!!! I’m from Delaware, only an hour drive from Annapolis. And your telling me five iron played there?!?!?! Dude, this single handedly ruined my day knowing that I could’ve driven an hour to see them......now I’d have to drive to the middle of the country to see them, if they ever play again. Lame. Also....good Charlotte in a church? Wasn’t expecting that. Lol.
Five Iron Frenzy is the exception to the rule. Saw a "Top 25 Christian Bands" list which featured trash wannabe altrock bands like Newsboys, Superchick, and worst of all, Audio "Adrenaline" Yet FIF wasn't even mentioned. They should have been #1, and #2-5 for good measure. Worst list ever. I had to listen to The Godzilla Song just to quell my demonic rage upon reading that terrible site.
Just because you don't like them it doesn't mean it's crap. The only thing I agree wit what you said is that it's crappy that FIF didn't make the list.
I don’t think this band gets enough recognition… but whenever I’m breaking from Rap, you guys are my go to. Thank you for holding it down all these years!!! 🎉🎉🎉 God bless
Finally an honest to goodness performance video, and for what may be one of the best Five Iron songs of all time (OF ALL TIME). The energy is amazing. I've loved FIF since '96 and I don't intend to stop any time soon.
Love me some Aquabats. Their last album was great. Loved the song Shark Fighter off their High Five Soup, but then again, I have loved them since their first album years ago. I wonder if they are doing anything new
Incredible music. Love the vocal harmony, how sharp and clean the horns are, and the percussion is phenomenal! The video is very modern with it's slightly desaturated color palette. Frankly, it looks amazing. I love seeing the band so close, without costumes or nonsense, when singing a song as serious as this one is.
This band has always held a special place in my heart, i remember jamming them when i was 13, i am now 23 and still can't get enough of them! I even went to the fairwell tour, such an amazing band!
This is the best ska band ever. I'll never forget first seeing them at Spirit West Coast back in '97. Upbeat and beatdowns was their only release. So much energy. Funny. Tight. Amazing horn section. Great band.
I seem to love all Five Iron Frenzy songs. was trying to stay awake, and this just did it. so addicting..kinda like Jesus is to me. totally addicted to Jesus, can't get enough of him. ✝✝✝
Yeah, they definitely have a very appealing sound. I'm not even a fan of punk or ska but I love their sound. I'm sure it's because The Holy Spirit dwells in the music. Hallelujah! I'm addicted to Jesus too!!!!!!!
Been listening to this band for as long as I've had a childhood. Single most awesome day of my life was when my 1st niece was born. The second was their announced revival. the third was that time i didn't die but should have.
Yeah, I chuckled a bit when that happened. Oh, Five Iron Frenzy, you guys, you are such jokers. You should do it more often to make people check their audio, turn it all the way up and then get a good surprise
YAASSS you guys are back and your music is AWESOME. Seriously your new stuff is amazing, different and yet similar to the cool songs we all remember. Welcome back!!! :)
slantbeard chances are good. If history has taught us anything it’s that California is a place we like to go. Nothing quite like a California show. Come and take me by the hand. We’re gonna see a punk rawk band.
Was reminiscing some childhood memories with some friends and I came across Anthem and it was quite amusing I still remembered the words. Anyways, it's so cool to see you guys still rockin and I just saw the collab with MxPx which was pretty cool to see. Thanks FIF!
So wonderful to see some new stuff from you guys again! Still remember hearing you at TOM Fest back when your debut album was out. Still as solid today as you were then.
This song is fantastic. Right up there with "Zen & the Art of Xenophobia" on this album. I couldn't help but notice the similarity between the horn portion (@0:37) and the whistling in Fitz and the Tantrum's "The Walker" (@0:20 on the official Fitz video). I heard the Fitz song in an online Supercuts commercial. Bizarre.
I absolutely love this song it helped me get though these last few months which was probably the toughest part of my life so far thank you and keep rocking hard
I'm here because of the book 'Rachel's Tears', about the 17 year old Christian girl who died in the Columbine shooting, Rachel Joy Scott. In one of the last chapters of the book, Rachel's older sister tells a story about how her and Rachel would drive to their weekly youth groups listening to this band blasting through the speakers... Had to check them out. Never knew Christian ska/punk even existed.. Praise Jesus! Sounds pretty cool.
look up youtube channel "10thdim " if you want to see the reason of order in Genesis 1 (first page of holy bible). study calculus if you're young enough. :) look up "scientific Method" if you want to see what is the snake's question to Eve in Genesis 3. Jesus is 'really ' resurrected and alive as Holy Spirit comes from Him and Father. Lord Jesus had 12 male disciples and 7 female disciples. (three of whom are named as Mary Martha, and Salome) . all the churches is united in Body of Christ, so even 'youth groups' are a form of age-segregation .
*band plays music in warehouse*
wouldn't have it any other way!!!!
I don't get it. I mean, the acoustics aren't that great and there isn't even an audience. What gives?
its a warehouse...it adds warehousiness
no one makes a music video because they make sense.
Lol, note to self... Use this in the intro of something if I ever get into animation, lol... Albeit slightly edited. x)
This is by far one of their best songs EVER
Art Haddaway we think it’s alright.
Five Iron Frenzy haha thanks for the reply!
*One of the best songs ever 😉
@@fiveironfrenzy I kinda hate it... It rocks.
anyone else spend the first 20 seconds trying to figure out why their speakers weren't working lol
I did
LOL I did..... and I just hooked up a new speaker too QQ
YEP!!
yes.....LOL
Yep, sat here messing with the speakers, muting and unmuting audio to try to sort out if there was a problem with my hardware, then he hits the drums and I forgot I had turned up the sound while trying to figure out the problem.
LONG LIVE FIVE IRON FRENZY!
Rip
Andy's grumpy face while he's rocking out on the drums makes me happy. Rock on.
I plugged in my headphones so I could hear the song... then when I heard nothing I turned up the volume to 100 percent. Then I moved the playback to the middle of the video and just about killed my ears. Thanks FIF it was worth it.
Bind up the broken hearted...don’t care how old this is I still rewatch it and love it...my son does too

That’s a banger of a show
And who says Christian music sucks, these guys are awesome!

AA and Newsboys are amazing musically

I don't know. Everyone is so cool in this video.
The way Reese moves in this reminds me of the Bat Commander from The Aquabats.
Man... A Five Iron Frenzy and Aquabat concert would be amazing!
This happened way back in the day, I believe. Like 1997?
Really?! I may have to go searching for footage (if I can find any).
Love me some Aquabats. Their last album was great. Loved the song Shark Fighter off their High Five Soup, but then again, I have loved them since their first album years ago. I wonder if they are doing anything new
I still have home movies of Warped tour 96,97,98,99,2000 here. I'll just fire them up!
I wanted to come back and listen again to the best band ever!!!!

Another crazy off the charts good song by FiF, completely overlooked and under appreciated.
Praise God, bless the Five Iron Freezy
I love the energy they put out in this video. Everyone's so on board.
man, I love you guys been listening to you since I was 12 and I'm 24. Thank you all for being an awesome group of people! Lord bless!!! :)
five iron plays in a warehouse... just like every other awesome video from the 90s! :)

I played trombone in highschool. Seeing such a beautiful instrument outside of orchestral music makes me happy
You are BEST SKA. Thank you.
I would pay $1000 to hear that song live. IT IS INCREDIBLE!
They toured and played it about 6 years ago. House of Heros opened for them. My little sister had always wanted to hear them live and she loved it.
One time making a speech at a wedding I found my self holding the mic like Reese
Yes it has ARRIVED!!! Digging the straight fw band performance approach for this one!
I agree. it's genuinely wonderful to just simply see them. and they're enjoying playing. I love it.
I absolutely ADORE how weird and sweaty they all allow themselves to be in this video!!!
Am I the only one who gets a "Bruce Campbell" vibe from Reese?
Love the music and the message in your songs!
All hail the new Five Iron! This is what I waited all these years for. Even better seeing them live.
FIF: comes back after like 15 years or something
Me: happiness noises
FIF: doesn’t release another album for 4 years
Me: sadness noises
You have listened to "The Ploy of A Million Engines" right? They also released the EP a few years ago called "Between the Pavement and Stars"
Doesn't matter to me if they come out with new music. Every time I come back they fill me with joy.
More to come.
@@micahortega6041 I'm hyped
they've only gotten better over the years. I'm not a christian anymore but i can still dig what they're throwing at me
Sameee this music is amazing even for non Christians because the lyrics are applicable to many situations in life👌🏼
One of my favorites to crank up form their new album.
I love how much fun they are having with this
Finally. An HD performance video. LOVE IT.
Thank you for your incalculable service, FIᖷ!
FIF!!!
I used to jam to your music with my brother before he passed in '06. Hearing your new album makes me reminisce about those times. Much love!
This is so good why havent i heard of this before
This gives me (good) chills every time.
Best. Video. Ever.
I love how intimidating/gritty Reese attempts to be when he sings. Such determination in his eyes! XD
Still love this song
I miss their music! they are awesome
This band is soooooooo good!!! Been a fan for so many years! I out them on whenever I'm having a blue day and need a huge joyful pick me up
Wish I could have seen them live.
So , I STUMBLE on this song , and after about TEN listens, I'm ordering this cd and the latest. MOST FUN EVER IN THE "DEEP END" !!!
oh yeahhh... Five Iron Frenzy simply the best.... Long live FIF!!!!
How do they all still look so good?

Not gonna lie, the first 10 seconds or so had me worried something was wrong with my audio...
Same here.
I could hear the dead air so I assumed the sound was up, but I started second guessing myself at about 18 seconds in.
sunsetsred
i thought I was hearing dead people after 18 seconds in.......
And then....heart attack by audio
Yeah, I chuckled a bit when that happened. Oh, Five Iron Frenzy, you guys, you are such jokers. You should do it more often to make people check their audio, turn it all the way up and then get a good surprise
How did I miss this song? I remember back in the day rocking my FIF gear. ♡
I don’t know about you, but 5 iron Frenzy has always been the vehicle that drives me back to my faith.
That is all.
Humbling. Thanks for saying so. Makes it easier to continue doing this. May God bless you richly Duane.
What a great tune, brings back memories of rockin out to 5 Iron Frenzy back in the day!!
Had such a crush on Jeff the Girl for years.
I got her autograph on a dollar 💵 bill. She just signed Jeff.
My name is Jeff too! 😎
She signed my shirt and was super awesome
oooooooooooo
Great song! If FIF had more songs like this, they would go places! :)
