- More info:
Sigma has a new brush kit launching on April 27th *edit - Sigma has sent out an email saying the launch is postponed*, specially for special effects makeup! The kit has 11 brushes and will cost $159. In the video I talk about the brush uses, do a close up of the bristles, do some swatches with both alcohol activated makeup and cream makeup, and demo a cut, a bruise, and some veining with them. Hope you enjoy it :) x
Sigma sent me the brushes for free for review. I am not being paid for this review. All opinions are my own.

Your skill is so big. Thanks for all and good luck.
I LOVE UR HAIR!!!
Shirley Rici Thank you so much! :D
this seems like alot for brushes that are at high risk for being ruined
YOU'RE SO AMAZING. HOLY FUCK GIVE ME YOUR SKILLS.
Javiera Andrea Oh, you!
hi! how did your sigma brushes end up? what type of brushes is good to invest with?
which sfx brush set is your favorite?
I bought Ben nye brown nose and scar wax and I can't tell what it's for. It works well but It usually shows through the latex and foundation. ???
Arranadam Sheikh It's used to build up on the skin - if you want to create, as the name suggests, a fake nose, or build up skin so that you can carve wounds into it, etc. It's pretty easy to use as it's like using waxy playdoh, but it can be damaged easily - if your skin moves around a lot (like on the neck or around the mouth) it can crack and break off, or you brush up against it or hit it on something it can be damaged, or if it's too hot obviously wax will melt. What I use it for if practising looks at home - creating things which don't need to be worn for a long amount of time, that I can photograph then take off. If I am going out with a costume and want it to last I will likely use something else.
Powdah has some great videos on how to use nose and scar wax: ua-cam.com/video/jdlt5Q21Im4/v-deo.html
*edit, just read that it's brown nose and scar wax. It's for darker skin tones :)
Thank you! I can't believe you replied!
hey kiana this is pretty off topic but for a first time buyer of skin illustrator alcohol activated paints. whuch pallet should i start off with? :)
Grace Power I reckon go for an on-set palette that has a mix of the Fleshtones and FX colours, either the Howard Berger palette: www.frendsbeauty.com/skin-illustrator-on-set-palette-howard-berger.html Or Kristyan Mallett www.frendsbeauty.com/skin-illustrator-on-set-palette-kristyan-mallett.html. They're 12 colours instead of ten and cheaper ($55) because they're a smaller size - for 'on set' use, but I think that'd be a great intro palette to get more colours until you want to invest in the bigger palettes.
Omg thank you so so much! Ill look at them :) your the best thanks a lot for your help :D
i want to do sfx on other people, but i don't know how to ask for a hand. like i'll sure be able to get them to allow me to, just i feel like i need a reason. like i can't actually do it for films or stuff. (I'm not even 16 yet) and i could do them for photo shoots but like then i would have to pay for the shoots and I'm not ready to pay 100 euros for every person i do make up on. hah . idk if filming videos would be the right idea bc I'm just learning sfx. little help? please
Yes, videos would be perfect but if you dont want to and you have a good camera you could do your own photoshoot
Catarí Gutiérrez Morán i do have a good camera, the thing is i don't know what to do with the photos afterward. like whats the point.. i mean i guess i could start making a portfolio, but is it worth it..? like the makeup is still money and i don't really get even attention for it, ya know..? should i start?
Alice Elizabeth Can you just ask your friends to use them for practice? I have so many friends that are down to play around with makeup because it's usually a fun experience for them, too. Sometimes you can tempt them by saying "You'll be able to snapchat this." lol.
Alice Elizabeth Could start posting things on instagram? There's a big community there of people who like looking at other's works, and you can get help and feedback on your work there.
Kiana Jones SFX thats a nice idea. I'm kinda scared to start but i think i give it a go :)
