Thanks for this, great help. I’ve just started mine and got to the point of having drilled all rivets out. Just an update to say I’ve managed to complete the swap. Total time was 2.5hrs which was largely due to watching this video and knowing what I needed to remove. Many thanks
I wish I found this video before I started replacing my window regulator. Another video showed the wrong procedure for removing the panel and detached the lock instead of removing it in one piece. At least watching this saved me in the end and allow me to get it all back together. Thank you! Please include the Torx screwdriver and other tool sizes next time as that would help as well. Good job.
Thank you so much for taking the time to post this. It was very precise and it pulled me out of a hole. Liked the way you corrected your small mistakes. Overall an excellent tutorial...
Very useful. Changed mine today. 350 cdi avant-garde estate 10. No real issue. Except I had a problem with the handle release screw. Didn't have a c10 long enough... had to improvise. First time riveting so a bit nerve racking taking a drill to my car... but all good in the end. Thanks.
SUPER GREAT!!! I couldn´t have done it without Your excellent video! Thanks for sharing so very kindly! All the best from Franco in Stockholm, SWEDEN.!
Good trickshot with that plastic rivet in the corner. Many people break that. This is better (original/right) way like use small screwdriver to small hooks on rivet. The same thing on my w204.
I tried it today and somebody removed it before me and outter rivet push back 90° wrong on left side doors. So now the small hooks are not right (little bit "broken-demaged) when i tried it and i cant remove rivet. I tried it on right doors but that small hooks little bit break too. So i will need use another style. This is not work for me. I dont know if its different between right/left doors and turn center blockator right or left 90°. My door panels have crack sounds and i ear some outer noise- C class doors havent sound deading like E&S class & i really need do some like on my previous car. I hate noisy cars and crack interior sounds. So I need remove this rivets first.
my problem is my window it will not stay in place i want to do it myself i just dont know how I would put the rivets back and if i had to replace the motor do i still have to remove the whole locking mechanism i seen that the regulator was attached to the other side if we can talk that would be great
Hi, you showed the defective door lock motor. To replace this part is relative cheap. Question is may I know where is this door lock motor located in the door lock actuator assembly pls? Thanks,
yes, the motor is a relatively inexpensive device, but it can only be reached if the actuator is destroyed. A strong rivet is installed that holds the gear assembly. It is impossible to reassemble everything :-)
@@BBTM721 I've worked on Mercedes for 20 years, That had to be the most pain in the ass door lock actuator i've ever done! better pack your lunch people if going to try it!
@@BBTM721 Thanks for the vedio very helpful, but at 20:40 till 22:50 , we still need to remove 3 plastic hooks? And rivets, can we not just clip out and slide the lock itself? Please let me know. Thanks in advance.

But, I don't think we need to remove 3 plastic hook and rivets at the vedio 20:40 till 22:50...
Can you give me some idea please.
@@ronalddsouzak they do need to be removed to swap the lock.

Thanks for the video. It confirmed for me that it is better to just leave the passenger door locked and not have to deal with this headache lol
Very thorough and informative. WARNING - do not watch this video if you suffer from vertigo - I'm off for a lie down🤩🤩
Thank you very informative video, best Music, keep up the good work

Thank you for taking the time to share your knowledge.
Nice done 👍 Don’t looking forward to fix something behind that cover 😅 Glad for now everything are good behind there!
Thank you so much for the detailed video, you helped a lot. I wish you all the best, Russia Moscow thanks you!
This was very very good...thank you..you know your stuff..love the tools
Excellent video, also with all details. I prefer do not use rivets again but any disassembly joint.
Da, ni meni nije jasno zašto to mora biti učvršćeno sa zakovicama a ne vijcima? :-)
@@BBTM721 I do not understand it too, it seems that it is cheaper to use rivets.. Maybe it is acceptable on Skoda fabia, but not on Mercedes :))

brother amazing video
Mercedes made a bad mistake riveting the door panel. It takes 8 hours just to replace one lock
What type of drill bit did you use? Great work!
8 mm or more!
What size is the torx screw that holds the outer handle on? T15, or T20? I can't undo mine with a T20! Thanks.
EXCELLENT.. !! thank you
Great job, Thanks!

Any idea how to do this on a w207 the door seems to be all one piece with no rivets.

Great video. Thanks.
How did you replace the rivets?
It can be seen in the Video clip. Drill only the head of the aluminum rivet with a drill bit approx. 8 mm. The rivet falls off on its own.
Drill out and replace with new 6.4mm ones
i seen that the blue device was being used is that the only way to put rivets back on
@@ocamp3806 any river gun that can handle 6.4mm rivets. I used an accordion type and worked fine
Look on eBay they sell them
That's a Big Boy's pop rivet gun🤣
great video! how long did it take you to do this? Thumbs up!
5 hours cca :-)

Anybody know what actually goes wrong with the actuator? Can it be repaired?
Bad contact on the motor
What diameter are the rivets?
Thank you.
6,3 mm (1/4") x 12 mm
Is there a fuse for these actuators?
I do not know!
what a design fro MB
Whats your labor time on that?
5 hours cca :-)
