“What a Save!” Is one of the great mystery’s of rocket league because you never know what it actually means your teammate could be actually complimenting you on that great save you just made or they could be trying to make the other team rage. They could be being toxic and saying it because you lost a 50 50 or did anything wrong. Or they could of just mis clicked when trying to say “Thanks!” It’s really incredible how such a little quick chat can have so many meanings

Play for a while and you will get it. It's almost always very apparent what your teammate means when he writes what a save.

When someone actually save, saying it is complimenting.

my favorite people are the ones that say take the shot when you're the only one lined up in the kickoff able to take it in the first place
or the ones that say "I got it" and don't actually go for the ball, just sit there or drive around

I think “Take the shot!” is my most hated quick chat of all time, like it literally just makes you delay the shot more cause you have look to read the chat. Also, every time I read it, I think to myself : wow, this guy must really think I’m so much worse than him even though we’re the same rank. smh
I use it on occasion. Only when there’s an open net like just to make sure the other guy knows he has time to shoot. I don’t like it when people say it randomly though

I really enjoyed this. A lot of these things actually happen daily, especially the rage quit teamates so this was fun to see in a video.
Sometimes I use "Go for it/Take the shot!" not to state the obvious of them getting the clear shot on an open goal, but rather to state that they are clear to dribble the ball in (or at least for them not to rush a play) as the enemy is too far away to stop their shot. Wish there was some more quick chat options that you could use to indicate things like: 1. You're clear for the goal, 2. I got goal covered/rotating back, 3. We got this! (In case we are behind and I want to give morale support to teammate), 4. Need help/take the ball (in case of a situation where I have no boost left and my teammate could potentially get a goal from taking the ball). Those are a few examples, but there are a lot more options I wish we could use to communicate quickly with.
I sometimes do preemptive "nice shot" in these cases. Like saying hey, it is a sure goal already. Just send it towards goal.

I just started playing a little over a week ago and doing amazing BUT......this video shows EVERYTHING I deal with on a daily basis. EVERY game with randoms I get knocked off clean shots, get my shots blocked by a teammate or I get CREAMEDDDDD trying to make a save. It infuriates me to know end. It's like most players are completely lost and have no idea how to play or scheme.....baffled honestly.......but I love the game :)

Whenever I go into a 2s or 3s match and see my teammate in the fennec I think “well, imma lose”. It’s a completely different story in 1s though... all 1s mains in the fennec are tryhards lmao.

I use a few cars, a couple of which are exclusive to Nintender Switch (don’t judge the Mario), but I most prefer the Masamune or Ripper. Breakout’s OK too.

Do you remember that experiement you did where you and Classy took silvers and trained them then had them 1v1? What if you did that but took two proffesional freestylers and had them train freestyler wannabes, then had them freestyle 1v1?
Edit: yes, I’m aware the players aren’t going to be god freestylers. I get it. The point is the exact same as Sunless’ silver players video. They’re not going to become the next best player, it’s about improvement, taking that next step.

How would you even judge freestyle, its so subjective and what would the rules even be?
@John Marston I’m aware that freestyling is broad, but I’m guessing ut would have to be somewhat like most improved or most consistent with the things they’ve learned.
John Marston You could easily judge freestyling by X person’s mechanics vs Y person’s mechanics and how consistent they are at it. The rules would be simple, X and Y person take shots in turns (and do whatever shot is in their “arsenal” or whatever the pro tells them what to do). Whoever scores the highest points or goals, wins the match.
@@johnmarston5383 There are lots of 1v1 freestyle matches on youtube. The rules are you take turns doing freestyle shots and the other has to wait on the goal line to make a save. Then Twitch votes on the best player

True, I trie to be nice, one time I did a unranked 1v1 and I was clearly winning it, I was up by 3, then I just let hem score, I wanted him to get a free win, but he was being a dick about it and said what a save 3 times in a row, so I made. A comeback because he didn’t deserve it, I tied back up, but unfortunately I lost and he starting flaming me like crazy as if he was better lol

Honestly, I don't think Wizard made any mistake at all, the goal was completely Sunless's fault (which he did say it was his fault), but regardless Sunless definitely should've rotated wider, because Wizard was in a good position compared to where Sunless thought he would be with the arrows
Wizard should’ve seen that sunless was rotating back post and then he should’ve challenged. It was completely wizard’s fault, not sunless’.
Sunless should have just turned off ballcam to make sure his assumption was right; see where your teammate is.

@@owenvaughn3191 wizard WAS challenging though, he was just waiting for the ball to come to him so he could 50 it away. Since the attacker was coming down from a slight air dribble, he had the high ground so it's best to not challenge there because Wizard would get dunked most likely. By waiting for the attacker to land, you would get the better 50 because you could jump and hit it down/into him and push the ball out all while not wasting boost. Sunless totally cut off the path for Wizard making a good 50

There’s nothing I hate more than the teammates that use quick chats like “all yours” and “take the shot” to tell me what to do
Well they're saying dont be a dumbass and not go for the pass they just made, and to "take the shot"
They are telling you that because they made a pass and they want to tell you you can take a shot, this is a TEAM GAME, if the team says hey take the shot then take the shot, when you play a team game you try to make it the easiest game they’ve ever had in R.L., not to be a stressful and annoying teammate.
But what about on kickoffs?
Orange Lettuce I think that depends, if they say something like you can go take the shot it’s fine but if they are also going for the kickoff and saying take the shot then don’t. Idk but I think it really depends on the scenario.
My favorite is when someone spams "I got it" pre-kickoff then all three of us fucking sit there wondering who the hell was supposed to kick it. Then "GOOOOOOOALLLLLLLL!" lololol

I started playing Rocket League a little after it went free to play on Epic, but I wish I would have started playing it sooner. The Steam version of the game just seems so much better, but now you can't even buy it on Steam if you wanted to.

Just got it on xbox and found this video today, and comparing it to pc where players can say exactly what they're thinking in chat makes me happy people can only use quick chat on xbox if they don't want to be afk for the next minute. People can however "What a save!" at supersonic speeds

I only have a couple of hours in Rocket League but this is honestly exactly what happens every match.
When you will reach gold,only then the people will start rotating a bit.Until then,triple commits.bumping from your teammates,backflip when trying to go for an aerial.
AlexxSubZero the bumping a team8 is mostly the team8s fault, what sunless explained in the vid happens al the time
@@AlexxWWE15 I was in plat last season and have been trying to complete my rank setup matches and can't. Im getting paired up with plats but literally my tm8s are straight ball chasers. They don't even break away from the ball to get boost. Did they boost the ranks a bit so golds are plat now?
@@bn2533 Idk but i deranked to plat 3 from diamond 1 div 3/4,and it's a huge difference,the plats in 3s are rotating like in 2s,just between themselves and i gotta defend many shots with low boost or the goal it's always empty.And of course they lose the ball and i'm in situations 2 vs 1,sometimes i clear the ball but sometimes i don't,and that's how we lose.I mean they don't save the medium shots or they're cutting the ,,rotation" and turn in front of me .
AlexxSubZero the plats now just seem so much worst than last season. Yea I had some ball chaser tm8s last season in plat but now it’s literally every game. And tons of whiffers now too who can’t even do simple aerials. I’ve lost my first 5 matches and now I’m being paired up w gold 3s and it’s just getting worse. I thought I heard that people were going to get their rank boosted after the update due to so many new players or something so they’re higher than they are.
