Just found your channel a few minutes ago, listened to the Water Temple remix and subscribed immediately as soon as I saw how recent it was. Keep up the great work! Also I like how you use the original samples. Maybe next remaster could be the Shadow Temple or Hyrule Field? Or maybe Gerudo Valley. And I think it would be cool if after the OOT soundtrack remaster you do Wind Waker's. Although that may not need a remaster since the HD version did that, but still it would be cool.
@@stpidstuff Thanks for the comments! I am definitely planning on getting to Gerudo Valley and the Shadow Temple, however, hyrule field has an orchestrated version that Nintendo made during the Zelda 30th anniversary which I already LOVE, so im not sure im going to do that one yet... anyways, thanks again! glad you are enjoying these.
i remember when i first heard this song i thought it was unimaginably creepy. i didn’t ever wanna hear it again. but i keep finding myself coming back to it and now, it’s one of the most relaxing songs i know while still being hauntingly beautiful. This song is perfect
I like how they never used the "forest" levels as innocent places. One is the inside of a decaying tree where you have to fight an armored parasite. The other is a castle with the vibe of a hermit landscape painter slowly losing their grasp on reality.
@@samdittolol nope not gay. Now why can’t u let someone enjoy a good song the way they want. I’m sure u do the same with different songs & situations ur in. We are all adults here & most of us can keep our unnecessary comments to ourselves
It's freaky how similar the ethnic chants are to Link's shouts. It's like the temple is so large that it echoes endlessly, or there are spirits roaming around mimicking/mocking him. Anyway, this is soo clean. I loved listening.
Interestingly enough, I'm almost 100% certain that the Shadow Temple theme also uses a sample from Link, namely one of the screams from falling. It's not very loud as its tied to the background ambient sounds that play during the track. I'm definitely the last person to be analyzing samples, but the sound is nearly unmistakable to my ears.
Everyone discovered this song because of Zelda Ocarina of time, meanwhile i found it being the background music of a video of a Spanish channel using text to speech voice talking about top 7 most toxic things found in food, we are not the same
Also if anyone wonders what video I'm talking about, the video is this: ua-cam.com/video/bkOtLQBWPCM/v-deo.htmlsi=0MORXF-HXc3iS6Un and the music starts to appear in background at 0:30 seconds. [Warning, the video is in spanish]
Something about this temple's atmosphere makes it feel _very_ far removed from the rest of Hyrule, like you venture so deep into the forest that you're in an entirely different realm
To me the sound of and look of the temple, just gives you that feeling of being lost, like you just stepped into another place in time. I really miss playing Zelda games, I just miss playing video games period.😮
I just now (11:41pm 1/30/2022) realized what's missing from this track. 1:11 There needs to be an extra reverb/Echo Delay Line here, the original track had a rather ominous reverb at this point.
This song always did sounds so ominous to me but in a positive way but it also gives me flashbacks to my first experience adventuring thru this temple (talk about that game over screen being shown multiple times 😅💀) Great stuff as always bro 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
There's no song in any other Zelda game that has the same ethereal, eerie vibes this one has. It's an anthem for unconfortability. The way the chanting keeps changing pitch and moves in and out of your ears as the instruments fade in and out, the unrelenting flutes that feel like they're trying to keep you on edge. I can't exactly describe how this music makes me feel, but I want more of whatever this is. It's a vibe entirely unique to ocarina of time and that's part of what I love about the game so much. That ethereal atmosphere.
When I was 22, I had a boyfriend who I loved very much, that was addicted to fentanyl. One night, he overdosed in front of me. He lived, but it a was terrifying experience. The way he suddenly started gasping for air. I didn't know if I was gonna lose him or not... he kept his addiction a secret from me, so I didn't even know what had caused him to start gasping like that. I remember the look on his face.... every muscle was completely relaxed, it was the face of a dead man. A dead person's face. I tried really hard to wake him up. Yelling his name, grabbing and shaking his shoulders, blowing on his eyes, until I finally just said a tiny "sorry Curt" and slapped him as hard as I could. He still didn't wake up. I ran out and asked for help from his roommate, and we poured a cup of cold water on his face. Somehow he woke up. I don't think it was the water. But the OD passed and he lived. I couldn't sleep all night that night. I kept my fingers on the pulse on his neck to make sure it never went out. I was so freaked out, I stayed up for two days in a row. Early in the morning after my first sleepless night, this song started to play in my head. It played non-stop. All through the second night too. It never stopped. It's a beautiful song. It's liminal. It reminds me of being extremely close to death. Being in a place just barely on the line between 'dead' and 'alive.'
My favorite temple is the Forest Temple for your Atmosphere y more than all Soundtrack, it was super duper fantastic this remaster, you have my Likes👍👍👍👍👍
When you make the water temple track and you're able to slow and pitch down the instrument you're using that and make it sound like this then that's when you know it's accurate
Nice! This is a beautiful remaster, awesome work! Do you plan on remastering the Spirit Temple theme at some point? It would be great :D Thanks for this
Slightly lower the pitch of the beginning drum bit. Not sure what the instrument is called. About 1 to 10% lowered pitch and have it fade into an echo more. In this case you approximated the sound by having it fade but it isn't echoing in the same way as the original. Besides this, I find this remake perfect. And as always you have the best remakes of these songs ever. I'm not complaining.
damn. nice work :D if you have a Yamaha reface DX laying around I can provide you with some presets i made if you want (for future possibly original work)
It depends on the song and what’s available really. If I’m being honest, the mixing matters more than the sample quality to me, but in most cases I will find the full quality sample and use the MIDI files I ripped from the game. Some people think by remaster that I should be changing the song, but it’s not really my intent... I just want to modernize it and possibly make it higher quality than the original.
Planning on uploading the Fire Temple remaster soonish!!

so easy to get even slightly wrong for the original feel for this track

so damn good my man.
My favorite dungeon theme of all of Zelda. I can’t stop thinking about those wolves
the mixing on these tracks gives them so much more life holy moly

Quality sound but I like more the original, which has more echo. I like the echo, makes it more like murky.
I hear this when I'm eating salad or coleslaw.
