Been looking to pick one of these up pre owned with the usual f150 depreciation on the higher trim levels in mind but no luck so far. Seems like no one who opted for the diesel have let them go yet.
$78,000!!! You could get the XLT loaded !! The diesel option should be more widely available . This is some kind of marketing ploy to get you to the Lariat , but over $80,000 with just HST is way way to much for most people .
Those "worksite trucks", we call them "fleet trucks", because the companies we work for buy dozens at a time. Theres much more hard plastic, easy to clean, tougher and cheaper. There's no carpet on the floor, easier to clean and tougher. The seats are usually bench seats with coarse tweed cloth, its bulletproof and cheaper. I always liked the fleet trucks because you don't feel the need to baby it and you don't mind getting mud in the trunk, so alot less headaches. On time off though, not wearing coveralls, nice leather heated/cooled seats and other features make for the most comfortable thing on the road to drive, this side of a Rolls Royce.
Pierre Huot no one needs it, but these trucks are now becoming more and more popular. People that typically are going for 80k luxury sedans/suvs are increasingly going for these trucks instead.
My 2017 3.5 with all my tools(600lbs) in the back got from Vancouver to fort MacLeod on one tank, that’s 1070km averaged in the 10-11s. It was 47k new on the lot. I don’t see how this is going to save you anything especially considering the maintenance cost on the Diesel engines.
Those of you getting poor mileage in the 3.5 , you need to really look at axles , suspension options and not buy crew cabs specially if it’s for work or towing .
Imagine... if they dropped that Turbo Diesel into their Expedition or the Navigator.... Porsche/Range Rover/Audi have all done it. Why not the Americans? Oh yeah! Cadillac did try a Diesel years ago, albeit on their Eldorado (car), with not much success. How technology has changed. Thanks Mike for another well thought out review.
Not going to happen because the gasoline output in the SUV segment is used to power VERY efficiently the environmental system (heating and cooling) and possible battery/electrical.
And if they have corrected all thier ailments power stroke is a strong platform but ohhh boy the problems I had 😣 I'm going for a Cummings next time around
Not a single foot of video of the new diesel Engine running with hood open? Why?Was this not suppose to be a review. No comparison to the Ram Ecodiesel.Do you work for Ford?
I personally haven't driven the new Ram yet but you can find a review on this channel. I had some shots of the running engine but they were not great and I elected to omit it from the final video. I did, as you will notice, include some shots of the diesel being tested by Ford's engineers. And finally, no I don't work for Ford nor do they provide oversight of this review or any review on this channel (although they do provide the car!)
So the only real benefit to getting the diesel over the 3.5 liter EcoBoost is the fuel economy. The 4x4 diesel F-150 gets 3 mpg better mileage on average over the EcoBoost but with diesel prices being about $0.50 or more per gallon on average you won’t save any money from the better fuel economy. I have a hard time seeing a reason to buy the diesel.
Ivanov Preslav actually the 3.5 liter EcoBoost is rated at 13,200 lbs and the 3.0 liter Power Stroke diesel is only rated at 11,400 lbs. The 3.5 liter EcoBoost powered F-150 was the first half ton pickup truck to be rated to tow over 13,000 lbs.
Ivanov Preslav what does the F-250 have to do with this? I’m only talking about the F-150 with the 3.5 liter EcoBoost versus the 3.0 liter Power Stroke diesel. The F-250 is a completely different truck.
Ryan Lange only the 4x2 will tow over 13,000 lbs. I can’t remember last time I saw a 4x2 f150 in any trim other than base work trucks here in Canada. I agree though that 3.5EB is the one to get if towing. Ford only plans to sell about 5% in diesel trim too, so that tells you it’s not in the lineup as a serious choice for most people.
I'm deciding between this and waiting for the Tesla Cybertruck, leaning towards the Tesla based on much more power and better price than F150 but this is pretty nice
Diesel is cheaper than gas in Canada (Vancouver). So way better MPG (in my experience) and cheaper price at the pump ⛽ is why I went Diesel. One year in and I'm still glad I did.
When's the last time you visited a city, or stepped into a shopping mall or watched TV? The irony is that you could have picked literally any of my other reviews where I wear jeans that can actually be considered tight. These are tactical pants I bought from a hunting store (!!) that I wear exclusively on camping trips.
Oil prices have soared and so has output. "Creature comforts" as well as dealing with the elements does matter out that way now. $80,000 is nothing with this oil boom rolling along and Venezuela in free fall. And yes there is a practical value as well...moving plywood, towing, a huge fuel tank for all day work and many new safety features to lessen dings, dents and scratches as well as create a FAR more safe from what is always a very risky vehicle platform driving experience. Plus you can park it at home at the end of the day, cleans up nice and still worthy of a night on the town...even in Toronto, Ottawa or Quebec City. "You gotta pay for that" OF COURSE..
The diesel really has no place in the F150 lineup. The F150 is nothing more than the new lifted Camry for bros. It's a poser mobile. Maybe 5% of owners will actually need a diesel for towing. The rest just want to be up high to feel tuff and nothing more.

They make them on lower packages. In fact I used to see a lot. He must bit know what he is selling
The diesel would sell way more if they let you option it in base trims
Agreed.
Completely agree.
You can get it in the XLT now!
Id be all over an XL PowerStroke
Nathan S it's a lower margin item for Ford so they don't want to sell too many of them, probably eats into their overall profit when you factor it out

“Confortable place to spend some time” must be included in the UA-cam Car Reviews 101 Class all those people attend!they all use that sentence.
Yes, along with "A nice place to be in"
Though despite supposedly adjusting the price to $5600, Ford Canada's website still says its over $7000 as an option.
So interesting! Sharing , sharing the hell out of this video fellas!!!
Very good review, Who really need an $80k pick up? I can not afford it for sure.
Pierre Huot no one needs it, but these trucks are now becoming more and more popular. People that typically are going for 80k luxury sedans/suvs are increasingly going for these trucks instead.
@@gs98999 you are right. They are buying it because it is the trend. They still not using it as a truck.
You can get the diesel for a lot cheaper with an xlt

Great video, any chance of also including the U.S. MPG figures in future reviews?
Don't know if he said it in the video, but you can find it in the description box
235 ÷ l/100km = US MPG, and vice versa
Or you could just go to Ford's website and check for yourself.
Use Google.

When you guys reviewing the ranger XLT?
3:54 C63 amg?
Que capacidad de carga tiene

Raptor engine is true in USA
Yes, before editing this video Ford confirmed the new engine option for 2018. Looking forward to driving it!
Only the limited trim gets the raptor engine in 2019 I believe. That makes the limited the most expensive trim and not the raptor.
Didn't hear you talk much about the engine.
I would love it even more if it was available with as a plug-in hybrid.

It's hilarious to say but I think the Raptor would be cheaper lol

the diesel has more towing capacity and is more reliable

Ryan Lange but the f250 has a bigger diesel which is a really good engine

Diesel in Ontario is $1.15/L gas is $0.96/L. Gas has been considerably cheaper here for months.
How much did the Diesel engine option cost?
Gas is much cheaper than diesel in the Maritimes as well, by at least 20 cents usually.
90 cents for regular in Calgary, $1.18 for diesel.
In Toronto, diesel seems to consistently be $0.15-0.20 more per litre than standard gasoline.
84k, daaaaaaaaaaaaaang
Al P just wait and get the Tesla truck and still have some cash left over
My gosh his tight pegged pants and booties says “men buy priuses” well. Lol

Come out of the closet. You watched a truck video and noticed the outfit of a man.😘😘
Fx4 package stiff
What a joke! $80K for any FORD is about $70K too much. 🥴👎

The f150 is the best truck
kinda true
Dumb post
