I’m surprised this Gordon Lightfoot song never made the mainstream when it was released. Maybe the lyrics were just not what a lot of people expected from his typical writing style. I don’t think I’ve heard this one before, but I think the song is well executed. You performed this very well, Robert and I’m glad you posted this wonderful tune! "Keepin' On Yearnin' " is an obscure Gordon Lightfoot composition that never made it onto any of his studio albums. It finally saw the light of day in 1999 when it was included as a bonus track on the 4-CD SONGBOOK box set. I think it is a good song and deserves to be heard, so here is my humble solo cover version!
Perfect blend for a beautiful composition! Lightfoot can "maybe" be matched as the ultimate songwriter, but not surpassed! Fabulous job, ol' buddy!!!
