yes i agree with shyla, most criticize what they will never understand or comprehend. i did train for the years between 88 and 92 with both stephen at seminars like warrior quest and bud malstrom. both whom i still also call friend.
I also agree. These plebeians don't understand the art: of grabbing peoples arms whom leave them extended after a "punch", or "fighting" your own students in a controlled setting where they dive harder than mobbed up fifa players.
I train in tijitsu, and im a red belt. I am reading his book the ninja defense. I just met him at a seminar he signed my book, and i also got a picture he is nice
For a period of my life I practiced many different martial arts forms to compare them with each other. The only teachers I didn't trust were Stephen K. Hayes and Steven Seagal. Not only did I not like the forms (Ninjutsu and Aikido) but I didn't like them. Didn't feel this way about any other school except theirs. Both schools were in Southern California (Ventura County, specifically). After testing one new school / form every 2 months I settled on Jujitsu with some Muai Thai and haven't regretted it since -- not long after finding my home (Ketsugo Jujitsu) UFC 1 and Royce Gracie came about.
Antony Cummins, Stephen Hayes and Christa Jacobsen will be working together in the near future to "legitimize" ninjutsu and unite all of the schools. This will be interesting and we can learn a great deal from this "attempt".
Keyboard warriors, do you think because you went to a couple seminars or took public classes for a couple years you know ANYTHING about Japanese martial arts? Its very difficult to learn. It took me 3 years of public classes and 1 year of private instruction from my Shihan to even be able to start to learn. All im sayin is, fuck with that guy. I dare you.
grandmaster? of ninjutsu? most definitely not.. he has some major skill. but none related to what he professes to be.. he jumped on the ninja cash cow back in 80's.
Probably the only man i would train with after leaving the Bujinkan as he breaks the tech down most of the Shihan say this is the move from kota ryu etc but dont look at it if you had to use it on the street
I highly doubt you have trained with Mr. Hayes. He is a caring and genuine human being. Rumiko Hayes is one of the most amazing martial artist I have ever had the luxury of training with. She move with controlled grace and precision. If you where unfortunate enough to be the "bad guy" who decided she was a good target it would be like fighting a ghost. She can create the illusion of what looks like a weakness to set you up for a technique. To-Shin Do is not about the obvious look for the subtle.
And I thought Frank Dux was a fraud... I did love the story about him being kicked out of the organization. I have never heard of any instructor being kicked out of the original school - even if he founded his own school under a different name (Chuck Norris has his own school under his name and he is still a recognized authority in TSD, TKD and Karate). Hayes is a joke and makes real martial artists look like idiots.
He could've forged that, don't believe everything you hear. Considering the fact that Hayes actually cares about Dux's fraudulent claims of the Kumite and such, makes one wonder why in the first place...
Lmfao millions made from the 80s ninja boom. Real ninjutsu went underground as did all of us from Hayes fake creation. How can he or any of them bring ninjutsu back from Japan when many of us were already years in study & practices before they went public. Total bullshit just to make that western dollar. Hayes by the way was kicked out of the bujinCON. EDWARD F. LEFFINGWELL JR. author of, ninja combat & psychology.
GrandMaster of Goofyness and his extraordinary bullshit Bujinkan Ninja comic book series of technique would never work in real life or let alone in feudal Japan. I trained one of his Quest black belt students many yrs ago in the Dux Ryu FASST system as i hold Shihan system and was formerly ranked with the IKF as 4th in the world as a pro muay thai kickboxer from 99-2004 and full contact karate champion. This black belt student of Hayes realized how much he really did not know and could not understand why Hayes techniques were complete shit compared to the thing's I was teaching him.... He pretended to be a friend, and then later deceived me in every way possible. Of course he didn't learn much as you can tell from his obvious deceitful actions. This individual also stole property of mine with promises to return it and of course he did not, but went and started his own martial arts style in a different country. i wanted you all to hear this story of my experience with one of Hayes black belt students. Keep up the good work Hayes in producing dirt shit everything. And tell your youtube TheLateScottBaio student Don that he is in for a big surprise of biblical proportions which will also effect you in a tremendous and devastating manner to you and your credibility!
You mean there are really people out there who overestimate their own abilities? By the way, nothing you know would have worked in feudal Japan either unless you have actual combat training. The preferred technique seems to have been find a concealed/covered position and shoot the other guy from as far away as you possibly can. If you were really good then you'd slice the other guy's neck open while he sliced open your abdomen.
Jay D Abbott Then I'm going to go out on a limb and guess that whatever you don't actually know that much about Japanese history and that what you trained for wasn't combat. Why criticize Hayes for not having a technique that, apropos feudal Japan, isn't pragmatic if you don't care? And what makes you think that the way people fought each other several hundreds of years ago is irrelevant? Human physiology hasn't changed much and the whole symmetry of the laws of nature thing doesn't seem to have any exceptions.

How many sparring sessions do you have under your belt?
The essence of any martial art is survival,, not combat,,,
I train in tijitsu, and im a red belt. I am reading his book the ninja defense. I just met him at a seminar he signed my book, and i also got a picture he is nice
You are right, the concept of middle aged fat white guys playing ninja is a bit alien to me. :-)
we need to have a ninja kumite

He can make epected strikes look so easy to defend..lol
No one is gonna throw one punch & freeze w arm stretched out
how you do kuruma nagare?
i dont know man ashida kims style still exists
This does have a "spinal tap" quality about it. Love hayes though.
It may be worthwhile to find a teacher who can avoid being hit in the head with a hammer and in turn avoid mutilating opponents with bottles.
Antony Cummins, Stephen Hayes and Christa Jacobsen will be working together in the near future to "legitimize" ninjutsu and unite all of the schools. This will be interesting and we can learn a great deal from this "attempt".
No. In your dream.

Dana white should book a fight between George dilman and Steven hayes ..
FFC#1 (Fraudsters fighting championship)
If he's such a joke why was he the Dali Lama's body guard for many years. I don't think they let a joke have that important of a job.
the real deal
grandmaster? of ninjutsu? most definitely not.. he has some major skill. but none related to what he professes to be.. he jumped on the ninja cash cow back in 80's.
Ummm.... he created the Ninja cash cow in the 80s.
So he popularized the “cash cow” and jumped on it? Makes sense
Not a Grandmaster, not even a Shihan anymore...
Probably the only man i would train with after leaving the Bujinkan as he breaks the tech down most of the Shihan say this is the move from kota ryu etc but dont look at it if you had to use it on the street

The only living grandmaster is Hatsumi. He has the densho giving by Takamatsu....that's it!

grandmaster lol?
Too much talk & slow motion... Not realistic
And I thought Frank Dux was a fraud...

He's a shitty martial artist, but a great businessman!
He could've forged that, don't believe everything you hear.

This clip is embarrassing to the martial arts
