  • Join me as I set out to create a luxurious leather-topped desk for under $100! If you're shocked by the high prices of standing desks and crave a dream desk that combines both style and comfort, this video is for you. I'll take you through my personal quest for the perfect DIY desk - one that not only meets my unique 'hug' requirement but also maintains a professional look and a spacious work area.
Starting at Home Depot (or Lowe's), I'll show you how to choose and cut affordable melamine to the perfect size. We'll then head to Joann Fabrics to select a beautiful leatherette, keeping an eye out for those handy coupons to stay within budget.
The inexpensive DIY process includes everything from rounding corners with a jigsaw, using a router for smooth edges, to attaching the leatherette with spray adhesive and ensuring a bubble-free finish. We'll even tackle the challenge posed by my Costco standing desk's unique button placement, ingeniously elevating the desk with scrap pine and rug tape for a seamless fit.
Finally, we'll do a cost breakdown to show how this stylish, custom-made DIY desk stays under $100. I'm excited to share this project with you and hear your thoughts in the comments! If you're into business insights and money-saving DIY hacks, consider subscribing. Plus, I'm curious - what do you think about applying this technique to a kitchen table? Thanks for watching, and I'll see you in the next video!

Nice editing! Pro tip at 3:57: when cutting on a table saw, always make sure the piece between the fence and the blade is held down and pushed through. You're asking for kickback. Believe me when I say it's scary AND hurts!

Great job! I wonder if you could get the corners a bit cleaner by using the same technique that book binders use?

I hope it is some kind of satire... the way you just tuck the excess leather under the 'desk' and just stapled it..
And for the love of god PLEASE put that riving knife back where it belongs... why would you remove it??
