Bro. I spent days of my life looking at different solutions but this was hands down THE BEST. I did a light sanding and spray painted it for a buttery matte finish. I had extra left over from my desk so I installed it on my wife's new desk and she was blown away by the functional benefit AND aesthetics (which 99% of everyone else's solution fails to achieve). This cable channel paired with a power strip screwed in under the desk is dope AF. Thank you so much!!! Keep up the awesome videos!
I ordered the items listed, with the exception of the desk and spray paint, and just completed cleaning up the cables and wires on our Tresanti Adjustable Height Desks. The cable raceway is the game changer, with enough space to tuck plenty of plugs and wires and neatly run them to my devices. Thanks for taking the time to create and share this video!
@@JDIAthletics Yes, I drilled about 3 holes on the bar that is right behind the desk drawer. Helpful Info: Make sure the drawer is fully closed, so you can attach the cable raceway with enough clearance from the back of the drawer, so it continues to fully open and close properly.
This is. By far. The best video on desk cable management ever. I've done everything in this video, and I can attest to this working really well. My only nitpick is 7:02 - those cable plastic ties do not work at all. I got those exact ones, and they fall off the desk very easily. I think the best solution is to have a taught connection to the cable raceway at the back or use multiple of those cable plastic ties for each individual cable. The rubber cable clamps at 7:22 under the desk have been a better option for me.
I’ve watched a bunch of these desk setup videos, and this one is the first useful one I’ve seen. Actual useful info of an actual desk setup and not trying to sell headphones. Thanks for this.
To make the power cord going to your surge protector/power bar look neater, you could try the following: Wrap the cord in a tight coil around a broomstick, or piece of dowel, and tape it there overnight. The next day when you remove the tape, the cord will be coiled like a spring, and stretch and contract with the raising or lowering of the desk.
Extra pro-tip here: if you do this and use a hairdryer while wrapped around the broomstick (cautiously, don't want to melt the cable casing) you can give the cable a memory of the coiled state
This is the best and most helpful cable management video I've seen! I just got my standing desk and with these tips, it looks so sleek and perfect. The plastic table ties, a cable raceway, and the 3 MM tape made the most impact. Thanks so much!!
@Irene Syriac - You are absolutely correct! Lee is my kind of guy - no compromises or shortcuts. I can hardly wait to get my wifi and tv cables out of site.
This is one of the best, if not the best cable mgt finished products Ive seen on youtube. others will teach you but will still have loose cables everywhere. fire stuff my guy
For a one person install you can simply slide a pencil or something similar through the slots in the wire rack to hold excess wiring up until you are ready to snap on the cover. Then pull the pencils out and easy peasy lemon squeezy , your'e done . Also I love the desk but I already traded my left testicle and my first born for a 32" monitor , so I guess it's gonna be plywood on milk crates for a while longer.
I just got an Ikea Idasen table base, the structure itself provides more than enough space for all power bricks and cables and it has holes throughout its length where you can pass the cables to the devices.
Nice suggestion with the cable raceway. Painting it black to go along with your accent colors helps prevent drawing attention to it with the OEM color.
Forgot to comment! This vid was super helpful for me in 2020 when setting up my WFH office. I always ask my friends that come over to look at how awesome my cable mgmt raceway is and they always say "what cables?!". Now I have friends asking me to help them with their set ups. Always plug your vid. Thank you!

I have a wireless charger on my desk. I used mesh wire loom to attach all the wires for my monitors, speakers, camera, etc to the pole and arms on my desk and then ran the wires underneath. I really like the race way you used. I thought about attaching on to the back on my standing desk leg to run the power strip wire down.
Nice work! Love your videography and the way you edit the focus shots in between your dialogue. Great work with the cable management system - def. gotta do this.
Yes! Thank you for this video. You tackled some of the real issues, like the power blocks. I'm going to order that raceway -and sticking the power strip to the underside of the desk - that's the key for standing desks! This has been driving me crazy! Can't wait to get my desk 100% clean like this. thanks again!
Thank you, man! Just bought everything. I have my work computer and my gaming computer on the same 72” vari desk, so cord management is HEINOUS right now. Love your ideas, and that you and your wife did this together!!
Did the same thing with 3D printed zip tie anchors and a ton of zip ties. Transformed my ratty looking setup to a almost wireless setup altough EVERYTHING is connected with a wire as all things should be. And finally at last the realy reason why i really got myself to do this, I can now finally vacuum under my desk without being embarassed about the situation under my desk, instead im now proud that my whole setup is off the ground and can be cleaned way easier too. :D
Very informative video! Thanks for sharing this. This is definitely how I want to setup my cable management. I also like the cable clips you put on the rear outer edge of your tabletop. Now you don't have to crawl under the desk to find the cable you want anymore lol My desk setup is a laptop, charging cable, 2 speakers, 1 subwoofer on the floor, a printer, and a surge protector. I have been wanting to do something about the mess of wires for a while, but I never knew where to start. I also didn't know about a lot of the accessories you used. Your setup gave me a good starting point because it's so clean and simple.
Thank you for this guide, I am going to save this video for later, my wife and I finally are finally moving to an apartment with plenty of space for us to plan out the concept, and cable management is also my pet peeve.
Awesome desk but I would like to note that Husky sells manual crank standing desks/work benches starting at a fraction of the cost at $179.00. I've read many reviews and watched a lot of videos and they all get really great reviews and look very similar to this desk that is around $1,600 CAD.
In order to make putting things into the rack easier you can cut the cover into shorter pieces. That way you can take off just a small portion, place what you need, and close it again.
Great desk setup. The color scheme is almost identical to mine. I've got my Macbook on a vertical stand on my desk. Definitely worth the effort to make it look really good. It's hard to pry me away from my desk now that it's such a nice looking space to work.
I feel the exact same way! Love that you have the MacBook on the desk. I debated that too but I opted to put it on the side on a dresser type thing haha
Thanks! Yeah, it might not work for all bricks. One of mine barely fit into it. But I think the same company also makes a 3x3 raceway that should be large enough to fit most bricks!
I bought the track you showed (well the 3x3 one), the cable clamps and power strip, followed your video and wanted to let you know it turned out great! Thanks for the inspiration.
Didn't realize messy cables bugged so many other people too lol. Tidying up my environment temporarily makes me feel like my life is actually in order, so there's that 😄
Nice job and vid...I added a 2' board across the width of my desk....and mounted a few hangars on the it. I change things often and this way I can move the wires quickly. I kept my 2 power strips on the wall. I have a lot of power wires in my setup.
I love it! The mat looks good and feels great. Also, thank you for creating such awesome products and content man! All your work is so inspiring and helpful.
I'm STILL waiting for my standing desk (three weeks past original shipping date and still not shipped). But I've already spray painted my cable management tray(cos I'm OCD like you) and bought a lot of the same/similar items. Gonna buy a couple more after watching this vid to make sure I've got plenty of options once the desk finally gets here, so I can put it together ASAP . . . so, thanks for the tips!
Yes!! Just be more prepared then underprepared. Nothing is worse than having to wait for more items when you're just ready to get it done! Wish you the best
Labelling your cords at head and tail will help you if you have a lot of equipment. It can be as simple as white electrical tape & a fine point sharpie, or custom printing clear sticky back labels off your printer.
Thank you for the idea share! I had a job set up in my Georgia home where I had the phone chargers a little too tight and you guessed it; on the floor after I pulled the phones! I just used what I had, I had just small enough washer to fit the USBC/Lightning (Two phones), and then mounted behind with extra strong Velcro, same idea! But what a pain when that cable is flopping down.
I would not call the OCD. Neat yes but not OCD. It's still a little messy for my liking as there are still wires can be seen and no neat enough. Still what he does is pretty practical for general use.
Good video! My one critique is that you used sitcky tape to mount your power strip when it clearly has mounting holes on the bottom. The tape will eventually come loose, guaranteed.
I rarely comment, but I had to for this one. I have my desk standing with open back, and it looks so freaking good with the cable channel. Thank you for this!!
Another product I’d recommend is the 3m dual lock. It’s like Velcro but it’s got these plastic teeth that locks it in place. Insanely strong and it’s what I use for holding my surge protector in place
Good video. I'm a fan of cable management. I figure I paid all this money for the equipment I did not want it to look like a 5 year old put it together. It is well worth the time doing cable management.
I implemented your solution on my new sit stand desk last week and it turned out excellently! Thanks for the suggestions. I did buy a 3x3 raceway instead and it can hold two giant power bricks pretty well. I'm going to run with it as is for now, but will consider taking them out and sticking them in a parallel raceway in front of the current one so that they can sit in a separate cubby away from the other cords in the raceway. I do have an extra 2 foot piece of raceway that I can use. Love the clean look under my desk now! Thanks again!
Great video, man. I'm waiting on my motorized standing desk to get here, and one thing I've been thinking a lot about is cable management. This video really helped! Thanks for putting together such a clean and informational piece!
You ended up on my feed without ever searching for you. How? Lol. Glad I'm here though. Better late than never. Now that i have a big L desk it's time to step up my cable game haha.
45 dislikes whutt, this only for us clean desk kinda people jog on if that ain’t you! Thanks for the practical tips Edward! I’m giving my home office a makeover soon, will be implementing some things. Your set up looks super btw 👌
I’ve got the same desk as you, and I love your setup, it’s so minimal, clean, and so presentable. Did a great job and it’s inspired me to do the same thing, thanks
I got 30 pound mounting tape for the raceways, the power block for my monitor, and the power strip. It was REALLY hard to pull them off when I returned the desk for being poor quality lol....The cable management was beautiful, the desk was a piece of crap. Now I have a butcher block, but don't want to screw the raceways into the wood. I don't think the adhesive will work because of the shiny finish on the desktop. Going fishing for ideas again, but your video was super helpful on my first project.
That paint is going to cure more the more time you give it, with anything that gets handled a lot I try to give it a week at room temp if you want to avoid scratches.
Thank you so much! I rarely post but had to for this. I did this and LOVE the result. I'm a stickler for having everything organized and hate clutter and this was the perfect way to take care of all those wires and cables that was such an eye sore! All my family have asked how I did it and want to do the same lol
This is the most simple yet effective way. Not much equipment needed but comes handy. This works well for me since I want things cleaner and minimal. Less is more I guess.
Nice desk setup. Minor improvement suggestion: You could cut the cover of the cable rack in smaller pieces to be able to not relying on someone helping you putting the whole thing together. You may then take off the cover were you need to work on and keep everything in there that’s already bound up. ✌️
please tell me you didnt pay that much money for that desk... those legs dont have a full support beam underneath, they are 200 dollar chinease made legs, and the walnut countertop can be picked up for 250 bucks at your local home depot. stain it and screw the legs on.
Looks great man! I went with a watch/phone charger wireless charger. It does have one cable to plug into a socket but that’s very easy to hide and makes the set up even cleaner! Cheers!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I would love to do this on my Varidesk, however, I hate the idea of drilling holes. Have you tried to put the snake thingy on with double sided tape? Also, can you tell me the drawer you bought? You did a great job. Oh, and I am patient do I will wait for the paint to dry. LOL
No I haven't tried that. I wouldn't recommend it...It would most likely be fine but depending on how many cables are in the raceway, I would go the safe route with screws! The drawer and desk are from ergonofis :) Thanks!
great ideas,,,I am just setting up a computer system and this cable management rack will be perfect. I am just going to flip the desk upside to do all the work
This is awesome... I'm just about to put my new desk together and have a lot of accessories to achieve the same thing. Definitely going to be a long day
This is actually doable. Unlike DIY Perks or Linus tech tips, it's cool but too expensive and time consuming to attempt. By the way, what desk is that?

I'm going to run with it as is for now, but will consider taking them out and sticking them in a parallel raceway in front of the current one so that they can sit in a separate cubby away from the other cords in the raceway. I do have an extra 2 foot piece of raceway that I can use. Love the clean look under my desk now!
Thanks again!
Wow nice!! Glad it worked and you have a clean setup now 👍🏼
your setup is fire af
Thanks dude!

Great video, man. I'm waiting on my motorized standing desk to get here, and one thing I've been thinking a lot about is cable management. This video really helped! Thanks for putting together such a clean and informational piece!
Thats awesome dude! Hope it all goes well. Thanks for watching
Best cable management video I've seen. Great video man!!!
Thanks dude!
You ended up on my feed without ever searching for you. How? Lol. Glad I'm here though. Better late than never. Now that i have a big L desk it's time to step up my cable game haha.
Wow that is so crazy dude 😂 Well thanks for watching! Haha. Hopefully it’s helpful
same happened to me today
This is a very easy and awesome way to eliminate all the hanging computer wires and works great with a standing desk.
such a clean set up man!! love it!
Thanks dude! I appreciate the comment!
This is the cleanest setup I've seen. Nice job!
No way! Thanks man
45 dislikes whutt, this only for us clean desk kinda people jog on if that ain’t you!
Thanks for the practical tips Edward! I’m giving my home office a makeover soon, will be implementing some things. Your set up looks super btw 👌
hahaha I love this comment. Thanks for the support man. Wishing you the best with your home office makeover!
Don’t worry it’s just the people that eat on their desk and keep it a mess 🤣
No as. Hmm 1

these video is good. one of the best I've seen in its category.
I’ve got the same desk as you, and I love your setup, it’s so minimal, clean, and so presentable. Did a great job and it’s inspired me to do the same thing, thanks
Thanks so much for the comment!
can you tell me what desk this is?
Desk coming in this week. Definitely using this guide! Fire video bro 🔥🔥🔥
Hope all goes well!!
I love this video!!! Thank you! I got asshole cats and this is perfect so they don't mess with my cables. Love the aesthetic.
Thanks for watching! Protect yo cables!
Totally understand. Just have to find that perfect match of products and setup that work for you! Wishing you all the best
That is so awesome!! Thank you for watching and happy to hear :)
@@edwardleefilms wish I could post pictures. My kids said it looks like an ad when I sent them the Before & After lol. They were so impressed!
Love it! You’ve inspired me!
I like your speaker stands. Been looking for some. What are you using?
Thanks for watching! I use these - amzn.to/39NGMcr
This is the most simple yet effective way. Not much equipment needed but comes handy. This works well for me since I want things cleaner and minimal. Less is more I guess.
Yep! So glad it worked out!
Nice desk setup. Minor improvement suggestion: You could cut the cover of the cable rack in smaller pieces to be able to not relying on someone helping you putting the whole thing together. You may then take off the cover were you need to work on and keep everything in there that’s already bound up. ✌️
This ^^^ great idea!
After watching a bunch of videos about cable management, finally a good video!
Already ordered the stuff for my "Fully" stand up desk, cant wait to tighten it up. Thanks for the detail in your vid and the links.
please tell me you didnt pay that much money for that desk... those legs dont have a full support beam underneath, they are 200 dollar chinease made legs, and the walnut countertop can be picked up for 250 bucks at your local home depot. stain it and screw the legs on.
Looks great man! I went with a watch/phone charger wireless charger. It does have one cable to plug into a socket but that’s very easy to hide and makes the set up even cleaner! Cheers!
That sounds like an awesome plan!! I bet it looks great
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
@@edwardleefilms thank you!
Tonya, did you get the standing 60x30? Do you like it? I'm worried 30 may be too deep for my space.
@@chericoussan9608 I love it!!
great ideas,,,I am just setting up a computer system and this cable management rack will be perfect. I am just going to flip the desk upside to do all the work
Thats a really great idea. Hope it goes well!!
This is awesome... I'm just about to put my new desk together and have a lot of accessories to achieve the same thing. Definitely going to be a long day
It's also so much easier to clean everything, when there is no cable spaghetti all over the desk. Thanks for the video!
This is actually doable. Unlike DIY Perks or Linus tech tips, it's cool but too expensive and time consuming to attempt.
By the way, what desk is that?
Thanks for the comment! Yeah I felt the same way. I really think this route was pretty simple and looks great. The desk is The Sway by ergonofis!
Thanks for making this video it was really helpful. The cable raceway that you showcased makes wire tucking so easy.
Yessir!! Thanks for watching
Personally my subwoofer completely messes up my cable management. There a 4 or 5 wires just hanging down. It’s a real pain!
just ordered all my parts for my new desk man this helps thank you
“Yuk no way am I putting grey race way on my desk.” Seconds later “ you can barely see It anyways” 😂😂😂😂
