This is insanely scary yet crazy fun looking! I live in Tampa Bay and did not know this event existed. Can’t wait to go and see the next one! Great driving for a first time race!
The bracketed race speed is gnarly because you are smashing the waves rather than skipping over the top of them. My cousin races offshore and going out on his boat it didn't smooth out until 90 knots. Anything under 90 knots was just beating us up. It got even smoother when we hit 103 knots it was just skimming the waves. 48 miles going under 90 knots has to be horrible, getting thrown all around in the chop. Next time ask him when not racing to open it up in the chop you will feel how much smoother it is.
Pretty cool, and for some unknown reason, I feel the urge to watch Spaceballs after seeing you in that helmet. Lol

Thats awesome!!! Thats twice me and my youngest have missed meeting you because of baseball tournaments.. 👎. First time is when you were here at Venice for your weather channel show and oddly enough we were in st pete the same weekend as the race at another tournament.

If you want to do it again and you have the offer, you absolutely should - do what you enjoy, man! Although I’d agree with the advice someone else offered that going faster (or ironically, a lot slower) is easier on the spine!

Jordan, my uncle who raced capsule boats use to train escaping capsules as much as he trained to race. I remember him getting into his practice capsule and my dad and other uncle would roll him off of the dive platform into the pool. He would even blind fold himself. He wanted to practice for his boat going airborne or flipping backwards. If you seen how high our dive platform was, youd laugh your ass off at how sketchy it was for my dad and other uncle to be tossing him off of it inside of his capsule. His was F1 not offshore BTW.

My uncle is in the silver team woody livin right boat that is in the video around 10:55. He is co-owner and driver with chad as his throttle man. They are 3x back to back world champions. The boat goes about 50 - 60 mph faster than what you were in. Hardly in the water when you are flying over the 6 foot rollers on the course.

80mph doesn't sound that fast but on water it's insane. I've been about 70-75 and it feels like 200. It's wild, can't imagine going that fast that close to other boats
