    Never seen that tool before. That would be super handy to have instead of paper

    Always pull the muffler first, especially on a $20 saw. It took about a dozen uh ohs before I started checking them at the time of sale. Glad to see I’m not alone. Love the channel!

    If your needing to space a coil on the flywheel a regular old business card will work 99.9% of the time. 👍🏼

    Good little firewood saw 🏁 I'd recommend checking the tank vent just cause the mesh gets clogged up. Fixed shit ton of those over the years. And the impulse rubber grommet gets shitty after some years 🔧🔧

    I usually blow them off to do the work on them,and after I get them to run the way I want. I wash them off. Not bad little saws.

    I had a 55 Rancher awhile back, but I sold it for some reason. I regret selling it, that thing cut fantastic and was very strong.

    I’m surprised you were getting 120 psi with the piston that bad. My 55 is 23 years old and still running strong. All original piston, cylinder and carb. Cut about 5-7 cords of wood a year with it. Pulls a 20” bar well.

    Omg I literally was just trying to buy that saw on eBay last week but it got sold before I went back for it.
    Took too long searching the pages of eBay for used saws and trying to make up my mind which one I really wanted.
    I’m pretty sure that’s not the exact one but definitely the same model/ price range of one of them, other was going for $90 plus $25 shipping.
    Glad you scored one though! I’ll have to continue my search. It’ll actually be my first gas saw when I find something cheap. I had an old Stihl that wasn’t running that I got out of a trade but had to sell during some hard times. Back then I didn’t know anything about saws, if I had I would have held onto it and scraped by… definitely regret letting it go.
    Right now I have some crap electric saw, I have always had the 2 stroke bug though and now really want/ have a need for a good saw. I’ve also learned a lot about porting and tuning 2 strokes over the last couple years and can’t wait to do some work on a saw in stages so I can see what it’ll do at different levels of modification.
    Anyway sorry for the long comment, i don’t comment really at all unless I find a video I can really relate to or have a strong opinion on.
    I really enjoyed your videos, you have entertaining and informative content, furthermore you’ve got a good personality. Thank you for your time that you put into this channel I’m sure I’m only one among many that appreciate it.

    The highest sold chainsaw ever made is the 610 Mculloch. The second is the Homelite XL 12, Super XL series.

      Do you know where I can get a schematic for the Husqvarna h55? I'll keep looking on the internet and I haven't found anything to help me understand the screw and bolt dimensions.
      thank you ahead of time!

    • @AndyAlaska375
      @AndyAlaska375 3 місяці тому

      @@skiterbite HL Supply has the IPL(illustrated parts list) Type Husqvarna 55 in the search and it will be in the results. Most bolts(machine screws) on modern saws are M5 x0.8 pitch. It's often helpful to buy a bolt kit with several lengths. There are exceptions. Like course thread bolts used to connect the handle bar to the fuel tank.
      Anyway, hope this helps.

    Remember to put in a decomp valve or plug so it can start.

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  Рік тому

      Ahhh John. There is no provision for a decomp in the cylinder that was removed. I know you think you have all the answers, but once again...you are mistaken. Many of the 55s did not have the decomp drilled or threaded. I see you have unsubscribed from my channel and removed your comment about the piston magically floating in the center of the cylinder. Probably for the best. Kinda disappointing though. I was hoping you'd be man enough to say, "Well dang. I've been wrong all these years. Thanks for the lesson." I would have been like, "It's cool man, we all get ahead of ourselves every now and again". But nope. Just tuck tail and run. Does your butt hurt?

  • @wilkey40

      @@novicelumberjack pressure washer and air! But I would have found that bad ring in under 10 minutes and that the bolt for the exhaust was rounded out at the jug. I would have also know that the kill wire goes under choke.

    • @novicelumberjack
      @novicelumberjack  Рік тому

      @wilkey40 No John. No feelings hurt. Look at the name of my channel. I don't claim to be a professional mechanic, therefore it is only practical that many people out there would be better at it than me. However...in the short time that you have been commenting on my channel, you have very clearly represented yourself as pompous windbag who thinks he knows much more than he does simply because you have been a mechanic for a long time. Your experience means nothing to me when you present it like a haughty douche. And I've known a lot of fools who have believed BS concepts for decades. It doesn't mean they are true. If you are foolish enough to believe the piston doesn't contact the cylinder, I don't care how many years you've turned wrenches...you're an idiot. A truly stubborn turd who is holding onto a delusion that was handed down to him 37 years ago. Hell, why do we go so far as to use coated pistons to create less friction if the piston never contacts the cylinder? You can believe any number of BS ideas you want. But don't come to my channel and start being a prick in the comments because I'm not dumb enough to go along with your stoopid little theories. I don't care if you've built race engines, I have too. The only thing stopping direct metal-on-metal contact between the piston and cylinder is the oil we use, and even that breaks down. Stop spouting stupidity and stop being a dick.

    Step away from the impact wrench! I dont mind tearing things apart or snugging things with one once hand tightened but spent a year fixing stuff the old tech just rattled till it broke or was tight cross threaded whatever. I always like to anti sieze those bolts as well.
