Have to handout sample booklets to my peers and publishing company too. They are already interested in publishing my book.
It's my understanding from the Concise student guide that the title page has changed:1) No running head, only page number 2) Title is now bolded 3) double blank space after title 4) name of department and institution after author of the research paper.
Please explain why it says don't include "Retrieved from" in the URL in number 5, however when number 6 example is given the "Retrieved from "is there. So, for ebooks do we keep "Retrieved from" Thanks for the clarification
Hi there! Good spot :) It is indeed not needed to write "retrieved from" before any URLs or DOIs. That means, for ebooks, you no longer need to keep "retrieved from", just include is URL will suffice. I guess it takes some time getting used to these new guidelines ;)
What a good news about this new apa edition. What about Microsoft Word including this new version. Will it be availabe though an update? The APA spanish version was great, but there were still some things that we had to do manually and I still have a doubt about long cites "more than 40 words". Thanks

@@MichaelSmith-yk5em Hi Michael, a title is still needed for all types of paper. However, for *student papers* the running head (on the top left corner of each page) is not required unless your institution or instructor tells you otherwise :)
Thank you for this extremely amazing helpful video!!! 😀 I am looking for a definitive answer that I just can't find: Is a Bibliography (works not cited but looked at) AN OPTION if we want to put it / if the teacher asks us too??? (After the Reference List) OR: Is Bibliography NOT a part of APA period. Every article I find is never absolutely clear on this. Thank you so much! Or is it that a Bibliography is not needed at all in your paper if your writing just an essay....but definitely needed if your doing a major paper like thesis? Is that the point.
Hi there, that's a good question! A bibliography (like you said it's different from a reference list) is optional in APA style, if your teacher asks for it, then include it. It's always good to ask your teacher/supervisor about the requirements, because their instructions always override APA guidelines. Hope this answer your doubt sufficiently!
Hi Fred, we meant spring in the northern hemisphere, which is right now :) It’s best to first ask your supervisor or check the website of the journal you want to publish in to see which APA guidelines you should follow!
On citing sources, specifically number six on the list, I see we no longer need to include the format, platform, or device for ebooks. Is this the same for textbooks found in websites like Bookshelf and Cengage? I also see it lists (retrieved from) on the slide for the number six change. Do we include retrieved from on ebooks or eliminate it in all URL's as number five suggested? Thank you!
