From these 3 my absolute favourite is the Steambow, the other 2 are great experiences, but I think they will dissapear in the future. The X340 is fun, but I don't see big advantages and the Lancehead has more disadvantages than advantages, it's more compact (horisontally) than the reverse desing, but not so much, and the reverse design has more advantages, like the balance, what is not too lucky if the main mass is on the far end of the crossbow, expecially if it's a heavy crossbow. But they are absulutely unique designs what is always interesting.

Good morning Joerg, from Prince Geoge Canada, watched this video while drinking coffee, i hor 220 minutes ago, thankyou great fun, and amazing toys as usual
Though the’s are all very different crossbows, do you feel there is any room for synergy between them. And, have these crossbows inspired a new project for you?
I like those crossbows, but I am playing devil's advocate and criticizing those products: The steambow is nice but there is one big drawback to recurve crossbows: Since there isn't a cam system, the WHOLE load of the bow is pulling on the cocking- and trigger mechanism which results in a lower life span of the bow, because a broken trigger mechanism makes a crossbow unsafe und useless. And then there is the whole thing with the moving parts: The more moving parts a bow has, the higher the chances that something will go wrong. If something with the pressurization system goes wrong, a broken valve for example, the whole bow is useless. Next: The compound one is neat, but the string will not live for a long time. Even with normal crossbows, you need to apply rail lube (rail: The thing on which the bolt and string is moving) approx. once every 25 shots in order to keep your string from breaking early. With this crossbow however, the string will have much more contact with the rail since it is not an open rail. And to the last crossbow: Same argument: too much moving parts and the string is highly stressed on many contact points. The first breaking point of any crossbow is either the trigger mechanism or the string, this is why most bow manufacturers do not produce bows like these. Changing the string of a compound bow is impossible for most of the bows (but there are a few models where you can change the string without expensive tools). So you want to have a crossbow that: a) goes easy on the string (minimal contact to the rail, good string stoppers/noise cancellers) and b) that has a reliable, good quality trigger mechanism and c) is a compound bow that goes easy on the trigger mechanism. Recurve bows are good if you do not use it regularly and if you are very far from civilization since it is easy to replace the string by hand, without any tools. The last bow is crazy cool, but the pulley system seems like the string doesn't like all those mechanical stresses (tight bends, fast bending). In any case: Make sure to lube the rails and wax the string as regularly and often as recommended. It doesn0t prevent string failure, but it prolongs the string's lifetime, which is the first thing to brake in high quality bows.
In the tree you would need to point the crossbows downward, will the arrows fall out of place or is there some sort of dynamic holding in the firing position?
Because GoGun is currently unable to supply blue vane or red vane arrows for the Cobra RX Adder, I recently tried to build my own out of industry standard crossbow shafts so that standard tip inserts and standard half moon nocks could be ordered for YOUR gun. I'm fairly certain that you know how that experiment came out... The Cobra was designed to use standard arrow shafts (7.6 or 7.8mm outer diameter utilizing .244" inserts) and not industry standard crossbow shafts that are 8.8mm outer diameter utilizing .299 or .300 industry standard inserts and half moon nocks. In fact, the design spec on the gun is so restrictive that standard crossbow shafts are too fat to fit in the Adder portion of the gun and the standard crossbow half moon nock is too thick to fit in the back side of the bow when cocked. GoGun's recommendation was not to use the red vane arrows because they are plastic and to use the blue vane arrows because they are carbon fiber and can take the power of the 130 lb thrust of the Cobra RX. What you've missed in your engineering is that standard arrow stock - even carbon fiber, is only designed to be used with bows exerting force up to 90lbs. Only the thicker crossbow shafts are designed to take the force of 130 lbs or better. So, even your blue vane carbon arrows are technically not designed for the power of the Cobra RX. From a quality standpoint, you have created an excellent gun. It is very solid and beautiful. That said, building a crossbow that uses arrow shafts and not crossbow shafts was a fairly serious design flaw. Further, the gun design spec on the Adder ammunition holder is so tight that you cannot even attempt to use crossbow stock. If you had designed or simply would change your design slightly to widen the adder and the gun (groove and bow lock point) to accept the thickness of an industry standard crossbow shafts, half moon nocks, etc., you would truly have designed a near perfect gun. (Arrows/bolts, tips, half moon nocks, etc. could be ordered off Amazon and other hunting outlets.) I'm trying to be helpful because I love the gun, but wish it had a thicker Adder (arrow holder) and could have fired standard crossbow ammunition
Sorry, but you are not considering several issues that led to the bolts the way they are designed. I realize this isn't obvious for the outsider, but I spent much thinking into this issue as a crossbow design revolves about the projectiles it shoots. 1. The shafts are totally OK even for more than 130 pounds. You can not use the data for bows as such arrows are much, much longer and therefore break more easily. I tested the Adder bolts with 300 pounds and they work fine. 2. The nocks are flattened at the sides, which is essential as this prevents misalignment in the magazine. Without them, the weapon would often misfire and be less accurate. So custom nocks are a critical design element. 3. The Adder bolts are designed to be light, so the arrow speed is high even though the draw resistance is low and the power stroke is short. This allows a flat trajectory even over longer distances. Thicker shafts would be heavier and the speed would go down much. 4. This is a repeating crossbow, people shoot it much more often than slow loading conventional single shot crossbows. Therefore the bolts must be cheap as bolts generally break or get lost at some point. If you buy all the components for normal crossbow bolts and invest the time to make them at home, you actually spend MORE money than a brand new bolt costs. I apologize for the shortage of bolts - 35.000 of them were stolen from the last shipment and it takes considerable time to replace them. Shipping is extra slow in the days of the pestilence.
I've mentioned this in a video a few years back, but I'll say it again: you should make your own Gastraphetes... The Greek "belly bow"

I want to get the steam bow for a simple factor of the air compression and the lance head cause it looks very cool
Crazy crossbow, I love it. Stay safe, you mad scientist 😀😀
