Vaas told him to run because he saw how the protagonist tried to save his brother 'til the last second instead of trying to escape himself. He said "I like that. No, I respect that!", and that's why he made the decision to let the protagonist escape. The only stupid decision in this game that makes sense since Vaas is a little obsessed with family and loyalty which opens up later in future cutscenes.
He just holds high respect and values for family and said the first time he ever killed was for his sister

I don't think Vaas ever really wanted to kill Jason I mean he had many opportunities to do it how many times did he capture him and incapacitate him? He even shot Jason at one point but I think Vaas knew about the lighter that kept the bullet from hitting Jason's heart when he could have shot him in the head and been done with him
@@maexpert11 interesting point. He's definitely fucking with Jason's fate by dropping him off the cliff and shit. Like he's excited to see if Jason survives again.

Vaas was a strangely likable villain. Part of me didn't want to kill him when the time came.
@@alexspeedy3485 that's why when you kill Buck (side villain) Jason's hands jitter. Everything you do before killing Vaas, the game prepares you. Vaas isn't actually a "villain" his sister used to abuse him and that's why he started buying drugs from hoyt
@Forbxd Well he did drugs because he was being ridiculed by his sister and that's why he bought drugs from hoyt became insane and joined him.
@Forbxd Yep it really is the best you can watch pyronicals "fat cry 3" video he first explains what could be better what happens and then gets to the Deep story that you would miss by just playing the game normslly

Yes please! I was just going to comment this very thing. Because the actor whom portrays Vaas, I forget his name. Absolutely killed it. No wonder, they picked him to portray Vaas in the game.

that was pretty realistic when Grant killed the guy by smashing his face on the bamboo because the bamboo tree is 2-3 times harder than most hardwoods, including oak.

I think you both would like to react to Far cry 3 real life experience. Basically it was a promo for far cry 3 but its done in real life.
Fun fact about when Grant kills the guard with bamboo. It turns out some bamboo has a higher tensile strength than steel, which means that bamboo is 5,000 pounds per square inch stronger in force than steel, and can result in death if you bash someone's head into it as that would cause either brain dysfunction or bleeding of the brain. So what happens to the guard in the intro isn't all that far fetched.

This game was so far ahead of its time man. Its a shame the newer far crys pretty much didnt improve in graphics mechanics or gameplay. Absolutely loved this game man

Well, it actually got ported for PS4 and Xbox One some years ago, named "Far Cry 3 Classic Edition". It's basically the PC version on High/Very High settings running on the current consoles, so it looks way better than it did on PS3 and Xbox 360.
