Same here in OC! Back in 2019 I made so much thanks to the daily incentives or weekly incentives, ever since it switched to UE, it all went down hills!! No more bonuses, 2,3 dollar trips, & not too mention the discouraging rating horseshit system!
This merger was the end of my income, I was strictly walmart deliveries through postmates, uber can now do those same deliveries but less pay, and getting booted offline constantly when declining all of the non walmart orders.
Oh no. I was strictly WalMart also but I haven't done any orders for Ubereats yet

This whole switch from Postmates to Uber Eats for drivers & customers seems like bad timing since Postmates increased their advertising campaign thru television, radio, & billboards recently. Did Uber pay for all that advertising? Now they're getting rid of the Postmates platform after all these Postmates commercials. Doesn't make sense.
@Stewart Rowe the change was only for drivers. The ads still work out for customer who order as we can get Postmates and UE orders on the UE driver’s app.

It sucks with Postmates because you can't see the tips until afterwards or if you even get a tip at all.
Yea you can’t see it but as long as your customer service is on point and you send the customer

But with Postmates it always came out to be more money with tips coming even one or two days later.
Plus, Dorrdash takes you out of "your zone" all the time and you have to return on your own gas / money.
I guarantee that in Los Angeles, Postmates was unquestionably much better.

@@magusking9215 i agree postmates was really good in LA specifically the better neighborhoods like Santa Monica/ palisades/ Venice. 1st day doing Uber eats today and I don’t like that I can’t send the customer a picture of their order 😩
@@CarlosfVilchez Not really! Many customers think the delivery fee they pay from Uber is enough for your pay so you don't need tips. Like many have told me "when I order chinese food over the phone I pay the guy a few dollars cash when he gets here, but Uber takes that immediately when i order online".
Yea but Postmates sucks it overcharges the customers in a huge way and it screws over the drivers they don’t even get that pay or even part of that pay.
When is when you switch over and the other competitor needs your information but Postmates didn't but when you switch over you get deactivated do you think that's fair
This isn’t good for us gig workers. Like he said less competition puts us at a disadvantage. Many drivers won’t qualify for UE and the freedom that the PM app provides will now be gone. This give UE & DD the upper hand over the drivers. We already deal with these new pay models that don’t benefit us and all the wear and tear on our cars. These companies want us to consistently take 2-4 $ orders for far distances. It’s slowly becomes pointless for us as driver to even deliver anymore. GIG workers taking an L with this

@@johndoe9672 I do more apps now. At one point I took a job for 6 months back in early 22’. Since then I do a bunch of different jobs including catering deliveries and Amazon retail and Whole Foods deliveries. I can no longer use one app to make enough money.
So those of us who created an Uber eats account when Postmates asked us to a couple of months ago are being penalized now by not being eligible for this bonus. That sucks.
I drive for both, though I gave up on PM in November 2020 as it did not pay nearly as well as UE. No bonuses offered here in the NE Ohio region, other than a guaranteed $13/hr if you don't make more than $13/hr while online and delivering with UE.
Haven't seen anything yet but I'm not surprised this is now rolling out. I've been driving with Postmates since 2016 and sad it is leaving. Contrary to most markets I seem to do better with Postmates vs Uber. Delivering in Las Vegas.
Now I understand why UE was very busy last week (in LA). Because they started transferring orders from PM but not all drivers are in UE yet...

In my market(NYC), it's pretty much a wash. I don't know many people who do only PM. Everyone multiapps. It just means I can only have 3 apps running instead of 4.
Would it be better to multi app? Or use two phones to deliver in Doordash and Uber Eats?

Oooooh! I've been both a Postmates and Uber Eats driver for more than 12 months. I quit doing Postmates all together a while back because they were horrible. Been doing Uber eats.... Had a 100 dollar bonus and really didn't know where it had come from lol!
I've been on PM, just began UE on last Thursday (did 40 deliveries already lol) but in my market place it hasn't change over completely as of yet, but they are adding PM to Uber to the deliveries, I seen at least two orders come across my screen.
How does it work though what’s happens to the postmates cars that they give you? When you have a delivery and you have to pay do you still use the postmates card?
I noticed this week that it got much slower than normal for me on Uber eats. Could be other factors at play, weather, easing restrictions ect. But used to be I’d get my next delivery before finishing my pick up 95% of the time. This week I’ve been having dead time between deliveries frequently even when the best map is lit up.
I thought I was the only one!! Two weeks ago on a Thursday it was the SLOWEST I’ve ever encountered! My hangout spot that I would make profit on turned into 30 minutes to an hour wait time for an order to pop up! And if I got an order it was below $5. I use to get stack orders like crazy. On the weekdays I would make $150-$200/day. Now on the weekdays I’m making $50-$100 minimum and $150 if I’m lucky. The weekends I use to hit $150-$200+. Now is $100-$150+
I'm a full time uber eats driver. I get postmates orders at times and notice none of the customers tip. they are not well paid, and they stack them hidden in double orders. sneaky. I'm in Las Vegas.

That must be horrible delivering to rooms in the big strip hotels...I dont even like doing apartment deliveries.
@@joeyankosky9436 yeah I feel you although the tips are pretty good on the strip it can big a big slowdown waiting on guest to come from thier rooms to get there food plus the traffic and hell if you have to pick up food at the casino ie like the retail malls at the casino that’s deff a slowdown on time I had a pick up at Excalibur casino only to get to thier food court only to find that the restaurants if not process the order but when I got to it the employees told me that they just closed the restaurant I was heated
So my question is what’s the point of UE acquiring PM if they will eventually finish PM? I guess is getting PM customers and drivers to switch to UE and less competition.
Postmates gave me my first job. I was very impressed and grateful of how it's barrier to entry was minimal and straightforward.
But when I started to get redirected to Uber, I spent 6 hours online with no delivery request at all! Worthless!

How does this work when Uber Eats says you have to have a 2006 or newer car and Postmates did not have that restriction?
That’s something I wanna know as well. I drive for postmates and my car is a 2004 so I’m not sure if I’ll be able to continue with UberEats

The 2006 or newer car thing is just for Uber drivers that give rides to people. Doesn’t matter for UberEats delivery drivers

I got deactivated from UE bc of fraudulent activity of theft in their term of justice when I accidentally ended trip on app and called the support but no customer address provided. I live in GA (atl). In GA, UE looks like the most money possible with tons of bonus. Do you think this news will make chance to restart working again?
This is what I did and it worked. I knew that UE had my email and phone on their system so before I clicked transfer PM to UE I updated the information on PM to another email and phone and it worked, got new acct on UE.

I had trouble getting my PM account to "transfer" to Uber eats when I tried. I ended up just opening an Uber eats account and went through the background check. It took about 5 days to have my back ground check completed including over a weekend. I imagine I will get no bonus but....meh.

I'm an Uber eats driver and a Postmates driver plus I ordered from both of those apps and you can still order from Postmates they're not acting like they're going anywhere they still have deals and everything so I think that's the most confusion part. Postmates was the only app that let me do Walmart grocery deliveries and things like that will that switch over to Uber eats?
How about the Ubereats drivers who were not Postmates users ? Will they also be receiving orders from postmates customers ?

I think there may be additional screening. I've seen postmates people comment on reddit that they've benn unable to get activated on Uber due to background issies.

This is true. I have a 6 year old incident on my driving record (the only one), have driven for Postmates full time the whole pandemic and they are going to deny me on their app.

I m mostly full time Uber Eats in Las Vegas, and the past few days im now getting Postmates orders in my Uber Eats while im online working. Ive had both an Uber Eats account nd Postmates account for over a year now, but I never drive for Postmates for obvious reasons, ive had it as just an emergency backup. However, it comes in as a regular order just like every other Uber Eats order request comes in, except now when I accept an order it says Postmates Order, along with all the regular delivery details. So I dont know its a Postmates order until ive already accepted it. Which is just fine with me, because I only accept orders that are good for me money and mileage wise.
What happens to your Postmates card that was used to purchase the food? Do we keep using those?

When you get a postmates order on UE, the only way you know it was placed through postmates is next to the order number it says postmates.
Pretty sure it’s all back end changes to allow post mates orders to come in to your app.
This is weird because I haven’t even gotten approved to deliver for either not they’re one so what happens to my application

The F with UBER for buying us out! Uber Eats is Uber as Uber Ride Share. Additional screenings are added which is not necessary for a food delivery job like additional criminal record on your background check instead of good driving records only plus your vehicle has to be 15 years or newer.

It takes Uber so long approve your paperwork. I sent a screenshot of my insurance app card it was rejected in two days. Took a pic of the paper insurance card and it’s taking forever

No unfortunately. This will affect a lot of drivers (negatively) especially those who’ve been deactivated by UE. Have a friend in this situation, spoke to UE and they said his account was permanently suspended, so no he won’t be able to regain his account
Just don’t use the same info that you had with UE. Get new number and email and if they the same on PM go and update it before end of May.

I don’t know why this app keeps getting less and less friendly for drivers that use bicyclists for Uber eats. You send me two orders almost every time and one might be close for pick and drop off but the other one is super for away I’m not going to bike 6 miles for pay out of 4 dollars that’s ridiculous. Need to stop zooming out so far to were I can’t even see the pick up and drop of on the map when it first appears on the screen. Anybody else have this problem

I run Door Dash full time from 830am to 2pm . The morning is decent I can't get around 50 dollars in the morning from 830 to 1030. So its definitely worth it for me. With out the mornings I would hit my goal everyday.

That’s my question. They let me make a new account and things are now pending but I don’t know if they are going to go through with it. I used to deliver for Postmates. I started in late 2017. Boy oh boy,I used to make 350 a day back then. Insane. I quit in late 2018 and tried back in 2019...
Garbage. The pay was garbage. The mileage rates went down,peo people started tipping less,trash. 10 hours would bag me a cool 300 dollars back in 2017. In 2019,I was making half.
150 for 10 hours. Add vehicle depreciation, fuel used,hours worked and you are pretty much a slave. No thanks.
I’ve been driving for Postmates without one single issue for 2+ years. Now with this switch Uber Eats will not take me because of a DUI (yes it was a dumb mistake) over 6 years ago. All this despite the fact that I’ve been technically making Uber money since the merger. Now I’m going back on unemployment. It seems unfair considering I’m well into the 3k delivery range and a responsible driver for them. Anybody else in this situation?
Yes man. I've been doing postmates for years ive done over 5,000 and have been doing it full time the last few months. But i have a dui on my record so im scared they won't accept me. I think im about tp be unemployed. This really sucks everything was going so great.
Yep...but try Doordash, they approved me in 2 days...or just stay on unemployment till Sept, thats not a bad deal with the federal pandemic assistance of $300/week added

Also a new development for Uber over the last 4 years is they allow you to do your get your vehicle inspected by your own ASE certified mechanic you don't have to go to the hubs anymore if you do or rental car it might be easier to go to the hubs if you're near the hubs but if you're not again you can have your rental car ASE certified but I can only be Hertz budget or Avis Enterprise Dollar in any of those subsidiaries that those companies own which is almost every single rental company out there. Yes you will have to have your rental car inspected by an independent mechanic unless you do hurts at the hub stations then it's just automatic pass through Avis and budget, Avis and budget have a checkbox if you are an Uber driver and then that just kind of automatically transfers the insurance and registration information that Uber requires on the background and because they don't have the traditional cards that you can send them like you can if you have individual insurance for collision and individual registration for your car or the car you're driving. So that's a little bit it makes a little bit easier to do Rental Car on your own.
Specifically nice about that is when you go through that nonsense and then go to your mechanic and have him do the $30 you know fast check it's just brake pads and steering and if you're if the engine light is on on a rental car that would be surprising but if it is it just can't be on for transmission issues but in general you do that it's very easy to then flip the switch and just do Uber eats with the rental car if you want to. Keep in mind most rental cars are anywhere between $150 to 300 a week depending on the vehicle type but when you rent your own car the availability and type of vehicle is a much wider range than it is going through the hubs which have only like four or five specific models that you're allowed to pick from. And it doesn't matter if you're going to do people and food or just people or just food you only have about four or five miles to choose from at the hubs.

I just wanted to add a little bit here there is no separate Uber eats driver app Uber and Uber eats are in the same app called The Uber driver app. You have to qualify for Uber general in order to then decide later to do food only by adding Uber eats to your account then going into your settings and unchecking livery or driving people then you will just be Uber eats food only this will be automatic for you if your car is between one day over 15 years old up to 20 years old you won't have to switch it off it'll be off automatically but you still have to qualify fully Uber except for the age of the car that's the only exception from that 5-year range up to 20 years that you'll be allowed in but it's the same background check yada yada that won't change.
And a reminder if you sign up go from Postmates to Uber and you want to do bike or scooter you're not going to have to do have driver's license well you might have to have driver's license if you want to do debit card daily drawdowns or and or if you want to the Uber super car to whatever it is you will still have to have driver's license because there is an age restriction if you do biker scooter I do believe they let you be 18 years old you just won't receive alcohol or tobacco deliveries but I could be wrong about that it might still have to be 21 for scooter and bike but let everyone know here in the comments because I'm not absolutely sure about that I'm signed up for vehicle or while trying to anyway, but we'll see.

Been deactivated on postmates for 3 years at least trying to get appealed over some silly stuff they told me I violated something and now when the merge happened , I was able to merge postmates to my Uber eats that’ I have been doing for years not sure if it’s the same account but it’s funny cause I have been able to take those pesky postmates deliveries, says it in the description for accepting, been a great week on Uber with the quests pulling 100-150 on Uber and 100 a day on door dash usually lately

I guess I can't do food delivery anymore because Uber deactivated me a few years ago when I got a ticket but Postmates didn't and I keep telling Uber rerun my background because it's been over 3 years and it will pass now but they won't do it they just keep telling me why I failed my bgc theyre such incompetent arseholes.

The F with UBER for buying us out! Uber Eats is Uber as Uber Ride Share. Additional screenings are added which is not necessary for a food delivery job like additional criminal record on your background check instead of good driving records only plus your vehicle has to be 15 years or newer.

Worst case scenario, you can just sign up for Uber Eats by downloading the UE app if you don't already have it. You will have to go through background check...etc.

i did 4k delivers for postmates i literally have to onboard and go through the whole sign up process all over again postmates was for the people uber has hella more requirements
I did about 3200 for postmates and yea it has more requirements but you can also make more money on Uber eats imo

I feel sorry for all those postmate drivers that won't pass ubers driver set up. Uber has the most strict policy. Your insurance and registration must be updated yearly. With yearly background checks also
