I live in a small town in Korea, and let me tell you I flipped the fuck out when I walked into my normal coffee shop and some random guy said "Hello".
I’m sure you did people forget that other people in other countries. speak English granted they do speak their native language when they’re around their people but you’d be amazed at how many people actually know English it’s a universal language

1 is written like "1". There are kana/kanji for things like the word "thousand", but for things like phone numbers, money and amounts they use "normal" numbers.
It depends on the place. If they really wanna keep the "Japanese" feeling for any reason they may keep all the kanji. Maybe a tourist trap place? Haha.
"Normal" numbers are called arabic numerals.

Lol they write the numbers the same way we do in Japan. Unless ur in an old ramen shop or something, no one is gonna use the chinese numbers
Furthermore, writing room numbers in kanji is just impractical. It makes more sense to write the number in a numerical system that matches the ones on the phone, making it easier for the guest.
In overall, the “trip to Japan” part of this special, in my opinion, is the weakest part.

I'm pretty sure Japanese don't use Kanji to write numbers like that. They just use Arabic Numerals, especially for Hotels.

@@asherandai2633 vending machines are everywhere but once you get to inaka there are barely any vending machine and convenience store have limited time products. And it's going to be a long ass walk for a konbini on inaka areas.

I’m about to go to Japan for work. This is very promising.
Same thing happened in thiland , we didn't have communication problems cause they knew english and so did we but when my dad found a desi person he was so happy (he generally primarily speaks in urdu and punjabi but knows english too) he talked to the indian guy running thenresteraunt for like a good 10 minutes and did the same when we met another indian guy at the airport it was kinda hilarious lmao
