This scoring system was so much better than X Games. There was no vagueness with how the score was calculated and it created way more hype knowing what tricks needed to be done to improve a run.
I rarely ever post anything on UA-cam. But wow, this has been so much fun to watch. It's such a great event. The setup, the riders, the scoring system, the live stream. I literally enjoyed spending my time watching this for hours straight. Burton really nailed it. Thank you and thank you Jake Burton, for your legacy. Already looking forward to next year. Yeehaa!
This was just an all out amazing contest. Not gonna lie I was a little scared for Dusty going into his 2nd attempt. A quad is no joke! Thanks so much Burton once again. BTW Mark McMorris is really coming into his own in the booth and I hope to see more of his commentary and analysis in the future. Edit: As always thank you as well, Red Bull, for all that you all do for the action sports community.
@@KamilRozkopal Dude is an amazing athlete! Just didn't break through as we all thought in Snowboarding, at least up to now. But he seems to be a good Surfer and does other extreme sports quite well too :D
nice one... dude can barely talk, did the same runs for 10 years with no creativity and you can sometimes see the hate in his eyes if someone else wins an event.
@@ElEcodelTren funny doesn’t have to mean humorous. It can mean strange or different or somehow you don’t register how bizarre it is. Used in that way a lot in the UK, e.g. isn’t it funny how a 26 year old is considered a veteran in snowboarding?
Red just has that kind of swag to him that is subtle but leaves an impact. He just goes down the mountain looking so chill and comfortable despite hitting some insane tricks that I can only dream of. Im here for him to become the next Sean White :D
I’m totally new to snowboarding but this grading system makes me learn the tricks better and what is actually being judged. Can’t wait the lockdown to be over and go on the slopes. Enjoy guys!
Best broadcast of the year. Dusty is gonna be on top for the next few years for sure! Scoring system and run format are the way to go, I personally didn't like xgames and dew tour new formats.
I'm riding the force and the infuse this season but th boots is causing me a lot pain above the ankle immediately after I strap in any recommendations with boa lace as I'm in not familiar with it first season riding a boa lace system
I agree fully. They justified it by saying Red had a tighter rail section, but come on... you can't ignore THAT many absolutely SENT airs with such well-executed huge spins. Every time he went air-borne at all it was like a rocket ship. Plus he has a controlled and fluid style on everything.
i play a lot of steep, and i dont quite understand the namings of certain rotations. what qualifies the trick to be a "cork"? ive seen where a flat spin is just labeled by the number of rotations, but i never quite understood how you could have a triple cork 1080, but only a cork 1440 or something. stuff confuses me. is it because they get inverted?
Depends on how many times your axis of rotation spins. So you rotate on axis 4 times its a 1440, but if the AXIS of that rotation spins twice its a double cork, 3 times its a triple and so on. Watch Dusty's quad cork from that angle straight down the kicker and watch how his body rotates in a corkscrew (helix) motion. That was a sick angle of that 1800 quad by the way. Shows how much torque he had to huck into that hit.

Totally agree the finals at xgames were kinda boring, but I liked it in eliminations.
I wish everyone would adopt this system.
So true! Glad someone is doing it right
Yep... this scoring system matches the most and creates the optimal script for the competitors...
Besides the fact that dusty got fucking screwed
Happy for Yuki! You can tell how happy he is!
Dusty looked so damn calm and smooth. Even on the quad.
It’s crazy how much love and respect each rider has for each other
That is because they are young, naïve and life thus far has been a box of roses for them. They don't know any better.
@@新型コロナは空事です how do you find love and respect a bad thing unbelieveable
Yuki's reactions and the interview after his second run bring so much joy
Yuki killed it and deserved that win. Dusty killed it but sure wasn't the best run.
Yuppppp
Spoiled it for me :(
I like when they mess up cause that's when they just go for pure style.

I tell you guys. This Dusty boy is future of snowboarding. The way he made the quad look so easy is amazing

Dusty was AMAZING. Every flip he landed looked effortless. !!
Totally agree!
Always good to see someone pull off something they have never done before.... seeing the whole panel up on their feet made for a great moment.
There is only one emoji to describe this final:🔥🔥🔥 Fire! So cool, all of them have such talent!
Anyone see yuki’s face after dusty stomped his last run 👁_____👁 😂
That was the best Burton US Open ever...

I think so, his sister rides halfpipe on skis in X-Games if I recall the commentators correctly on a different video.

It would be scored the same if he landed it on the second run, but i think dustys second run he spun the quad even faster than his final run👍👍
