I strongly suggest to only use coral fragments ifi its a marine tank or a tank for cychlid fishes. the calcium that coral frags throw is not benefical for freshwater fishes. In this case you can use lava rock instead.
Sorry for interrupt. As a beginner, this setup makes me confuse. I see that you did not put any water in the filter.. as far as i know.. submersible pump need water to operate well. The pump is situated on the top and the suction is from below. By not pouring any water into the filter.. the submersible pump will really suck in the water from aquarium from the below hole? I need more explanation because i could not see much which air and out of the submersible pump location. Forgive me for my English..

If you are looking for a practical and more perfect, it is better to use a factory-made canister filter. The price can be cheaper or not depending on brand and type but this video is just an experiment, hopefully it can be useful. By the way, thank you for your comments.
Your filter media is not properly set in order. Where your water 1st enters your filter it should go as Coarse, Medium, Fine, then you bio media where you want the good bacteria to grow

Need info Do you have to fill it with water first to start water circulation and what about power cut if power goes out so you have to again fill it with water to start the circulation of water?

I think that would be harder to prime and susceptible to losing the prime. Of course you could push the water through the canister instead of drawing water out, but that'll put more pressure on the seals. What do you think?

Kalau gak nyedot jangan dibiarin lama, nanti pompanya panas dan bisa rusak. Sebelum dijalankan filter harus terisi air dan pompa harus terendam karena ini jenis submersible (pompa celup).

1200 tapi bisa diganti yang penting ukuran fisiknya harus masuk ke tabung pipa. Dayanya juga harus disesuiakan dengan kepadatan media filter yang akan dipakai dan harus disesuiakan juga dengan ukuran akuarium atau volume air yang akan disaring.

Kalau filter sudah diisi dan pompa sudah terendam air, ada kemungkinan terjadi kebocoran. Coba periksa setiap sambungan khsusnya bagian input.
