Still a bit unsure for a 160-200lts for a couple of goldfish, what's the best type that you'd recommend, Internal and if so what size or an external canister type and what size? Is rule of thumb tank size in lts x 4 i.e. somewhere around 800l/hr the right size?

You are right, yet if it is for a fish only tank like goldfish and a bare bottom tank then 2.5 times will be fine too and you will have to do regular water changes to remove the waste

Excellent & simple design. Thank you for sharing. One suggestion would be to put the mechanical media before the bio media, that way the bio media doesn't get very dirty and you only clean the mechanical media during filter maintenance & the bio media doesn't require frequent cleaning which prevents the bacteria from getting significantly disrupted during regular maintenance.

Sir listen na i have a sollution for the air that gets trapped in the box what can be done is u can add 1 more controller on the lid of canister which will help to relise the air when lid is bloten so no need to open the lid just open the nob of controller

mechanical filter should be at first position and bio media at 2nd . Rest all good
The solid suspended waste matter should be strained first, to avoid clogging the Bio media material. Ideally there should be 3 chambers in a canister filter. 1st one mechanical media to trap the suspended waste matter, 2nd the bio media, and then another floss type material before the powerhead/motor pumping back the cleaned water into the tank.
OK sure you are 100% Right, Like i mentioned in the video, this is my approach and this works for me and you are welcome to use an approach that works best for you
It's always Trial & error in progress. We can always fine tune & refine our projects as per the experience gained...

Hi sir, i have done the same model but my filter box is under the aquarium not at same height so i added pump inside aquarium for outlet.... My prblm arrived when power goes off.... Yes i know you hav mentioned air controller but what if the house is empty when power goes off n no one is at home to use the air controller....suggest a automatic air controller/one way air valve sir
