I’ll admit this is the first time somebody offered an alternative perspective of Tupac for me. And I believe it. I think if he wasn't wih Suge/Death Row he would've moved on from that life but like Caine in Menace to Society...it was too late

I understood everything Allen Hughes said about Dead Presidents. And it’s good reflection on his part. Dead Presidents beautifully captured that tough 60s period whereas a lot of movies miss the mark on clothing, hair, cinematic color, etc. It was difficult to watch because there was absolutely NO vengeance for Anthony. I think it’s fine to end movies in that way from time to time because it is a fact of life. We had to sit with a hard truth for him.

His "dear Mama" docuseries is great. I was skeptical too but watching it and this interview changed that thought. Allen Hughes probably kept a lot of resentment from 2pac having him jumped UNTIL he had to do the research for the film. He was 2pac's peer. But now that he's more than twice that age & following 2pac's story since his birth it really gave him perspective. 2pac attacked him when he was 22. That's younger than Jaden Smith is now. That's the age of the actor who plays Tariq in Power: Ghost. Imagine if he really started rolling with people who gave him more street cred from doing the show. Then you give him millions.
I really wish we got to see 2pac at 30...hell he had just turned 25 ...Imagine him at 26...

PAC is and will FOREVER be the biggest thing to grace HIP-HOP. An intellectual young black man from a broken home with dreams of Black Unity, the heart of a lion, ultimate talent all while trying to find himself in different facets of the culture. My man was never a punk but was always sensitive enough to care about you. Ridiculous work ethic, hustle, charisma, conviction and character UNMATCHED. Once they shot em in 94, they got em started down the Art Of War path and I wish that never happened, but it did. Love this brother. NY born, Bay Area raised, LA concluded…ALL before 25 years of age. #LONGLIVE2PAC

Wow! I didn't know the Hughes brothers had a connection in Pomona, CA. I grew up in a neighboring city but I've never heard Pomona be called a mini-South Central. It may have well been; I knew more cholos than anything else in Pomona but pretty cool history to hear about them in that area.

I'm a Army Veteran and I read that book years ago. In the book "Bloods" when Brothas would get caught by Vietnamese soldiers they would ask Brothas why we fighting this white man war. Also theu would call Brothas "Bloods" also related to gangs on the westcoast from Vietnam. Cowboy a Brotha from DC is the one to show Thailand how to have GoGo dancers who also was a Brotha in the Vietnam war went to Thailand for a break after the war..If you ever in Bangkok and go near Terminal 21, across from that is Cowboy a street like or close to Walking Street in Pattaya. To visit all those places like I have so many times and reading a book like "Bloods" is something amazing
