Everything Wrong With I Am Legend In 12 Minutes Or Less

- I Am Legend stars Will Smith, an awesome dog, CGI, and some mannequins. Just from that description alone, you'd expect sins... and they are there, but maybe not as many as you think.
Next week: Burton sins and superhero sins (not Deadpool).
Remember, no movie is without sin! Which movie's sins should we expose next?!

"He expects a dog to have a concept of time. Or understand what he said"
That dog was family to him and he'd been alone for 3 years,I'd start talking to an animal like that too
@THWM
In the movie Cast Away, Tom Hanks' character was talking to a soccer ball.
@@spaceman081447 exactly
Walter Johnson volleyball*
It's pretty clear at that point in the movie that Neville has gone insane from loneliness, he tries to have normal conversations with mannequins
Funny thing Is some trained dogs actually have a sense of time...like sheperd dogs😂 so yeah, the guy making this video has no clue about most of the things he says
how did you miss the biggest sin of this movie. he goes to bed completely locked down and wakes up with sunlight shinning through the widows as if he never closed the metal doors
The biggest sin? That he killed himself with that grenade. He could've just thrown it and taken cover in the coal chute with the other two
Never thought of that lol
meinefressekeineahnung wieichdenkackkanalnennensoll I thought of that when I first saw that scene. But he did say they will never stop coming for him.
Also, how did that grenade erupt into a fireball through the air?
meinefressekeineahnung wieichdenkackkanalnennensoll you obviously didn’t get it. He looked at the photo of his family before sacrificing himself. He wanted to be with them
The dog dying is double sad because his daughter handed the puppy to him and told the dog to "protect daddy" as they were leaving in the helicopter. It's the last part of his child in a way and now that's been taken from him as well 😭
Kinda like John wicks dog was the last part of his wife
@@rugbydrummer9053 its was just a fookin dog
@@faceripper77 🤡
@@makchot3263 over your head I guess
In the book, the dog was not his at first, he saw him around his property and realised he was not infected, spent ages trying to gain his trust and then the dog stopped showing up. Eventually he found the dog again, realised he had now become infected, gave him the cure he had been working on and the chapter ends with one short line: "Two week's later, the dog died". It was a true gut punch in the book. he finally found something that was not infected, he obsessed over it as the most important thing ever,, his heart broken to find out the dog was now infected, he worked hard to be able to get to the dog, subdue it, give it the cure and realise it did not work. One of the best chapters I have read in any book, completely undermined by this movie.
5:58 You don't tell a dog "I'll be back soon" because the dog understands the words, but because he understands the calming tone. Also being the last human alive for hundreds of miles, it's an understandable trait for the character. Just like rewinding and returning videotapes. It creates a sense of normalcy that helps prevent going insane.
"Fuck you, get another dog that's not stupid" I know Jeremy's a cat person, but damn...
And the next moment he calls it a 'Great Dog' and sins the movie for fucking with him. One sin to Jeremy for not knowing what he wants.
*ding*
"Fuck you, buy a butter dish."
...
Wait, wrong website.
The fact that both the original comment and the reply have the exact same ammount of dislikes, is kinda satisfying.
Dogs can be both stupid and great.
when I saw this movie, some teen yelled out "Circle Jerk" when Will's character saw the zombies standing in that room while looking for his dog...
That guy is awesome.
If this happened in Colorado, that was me lol.
As funny as that is, that guys a dick.
That movie had a different ending, did it not?
+AWESOME MAN Yeah, and a lot of people think it's better.
The army destroyed the bridges in the film to isolate the city 😂 it didn’t just happen
3 years have gone… and likes I got from this still tickles me
lol i was thinking the exact same thing
And that costed Robert's family as well.
@@Fredcat11 not really, the helicopter was destroyed by another helicopter that was overrun by dark seekers
@@SydneyRichelle Yes, but it still killed his family in that way.
@@Fredcat11 but the helicopter was not destroyed by a missile that the army used to destroy the bridges. It was destroyed by another helicopter as its pilot lost control and crashed right into his family's helicopter.
You should watch the alternate ending. That will make a lot of sense as the creatures show signs of human like emotions. The zombie he captured was the gf/wife of the alpha zombie. He didn't care about Neville until his gf got kidnapped. The last scene shows Neville giving the girl zombie back to alpha and alpha sparing his life. This alternative ending could've cut more than 10 sin points.
one does not simply "find another dog"
Unless you dislike animals and you treat them as just pets not family and if they die just buy another one lol, btw im not one them people
True. I was thinking that as he said it.
True
also notice how he backtracks when the dog dies saying the dog was awesome etc
My Doberman male died at 13 and I would have gone to hell and back just to save him. They become family!!!
4:30 "just get another dog" wow you're getting a sin for that
one?? he gets all the sins!
@@Nexis1701 Agreed. I am editing it right now.
The man has two cats....well, one for sure. He doesn't think like us normal people.
Some People get way to attached to animals, it's very unhealthy. Also your saying only dog owners are normal? Or cat owners are abnormal?
People usually do get a another dog right after.....
missed out the biggest flaw, about the ending where he sacrifices himself when he could have just thrown the grenade before crawling into the safe that had plenty of room
doiiiiii
+ Admiral 137 So? It's not the ending they went with for the theatrical release. Alternate endings don't count, if anything its just proof of why the ending they threw together for more rating appeal was bad.
Alternate ending is worse and dumb.
Alternate ending ACTUALLY fits in with the plot given the whole butterfly shenanigan, and also restores the themes of the novel.
Luke Dias The alternate ending was a way of keeping Will Smith's character in the story so there could be a sequel. Because you don't go and make Will Smith the protagonist and then NOT have him in the sequel (Independence Day Resurgence) But in all seriousness, movies take plenty of liberties when it comes to taking a novel to the silver screen. Even though the idea that they weren't just mindless zombies is somewhat refreshing, it didn't jive with people so oh well, there goes that IP.
Movie Sin 39: He has that dog since it was a baby. You wouldn't just let your dog die that your dead child loved. That's kinda like saying:''your dad or the only living thing that loves you ran away? Just find another one.''
@Norma Jinete frfrfr
4:30 he’s been alone for a long time and the dogs all that’s keeping him from completely losing it in my opinion it’s reasonable
And he had been there after the outbreak for years at that point, i think he would've came across another one if there was one. But we did see that the darkseekers had their own dogs, maybe that ate or turned most of the dogs just wondering about.
@@chrisreaves6399 The dark seekers had their own INFECTED dogs but actual dogs are VERY rare you see dogs are only immune to the airborne virus but not the contact one like humans and if you remember there were only 1% from 6.4B people that were immune so to find a uninfected dog will he close to impossible
If im correct the percentage of uninfected dogs at the start of the breakout is around 0.5% so pretty slim
P.s.:Dogs were the first to be infected you can see that on a poster from the house that Neville entered
The poster said:
Infected dogs appear at dawn
Stay in the light
Yup
exactly
The dog was immune to just the airborne virus and will was immune to both he may have needed the dogs blood and his blood
"Just go find another dog"
Cinema Sins has DEFINITELY never owned a dog!

Especially when that dog was Will Smith’s only real companion for 3 years of loneliness.
I love Jeremy, but yeah, he has cats.

If he wanted normality in his daily routine, then like the narrator says, why aren't there any reruns of Frasier instead of the grim reality of apocalypse?
The bridges were blown up in the flashback he has, it was to stop people from leaving the city because they were infected.
Carrey John same

and why he is so attached to the dog is explained in another flashback. it was the last link to his family.
phyllip walker It was explained in a flashback and was the last link to his family
Only sin in this video is
Will Smith survived 3 years in new york city , died next day after he met a women.
Ghosteriz yeah spends 3 years with a dog he thrives and is living a comfortablish existence once he meets a woman he dies lesson learnt men
Archie Cullen That's no joke man lol
Ghosteriz no its not because of that woman. As you can see his dog dies first because the leader of zombies retaliated by making a trap for will smith... leading to the dog's death... then will got deppressed and tried to kill himself and the woman saved him.... shame that it was still dark we they got home and the zombies followed them there. Thus give the zombies knowledge of where humans hide. get it?
Mr. Fish. they followed them because she didnt wait till sunrise like Will said. its all her fault lol
Theres an alternate ending where will smith lives
Uhhh, it's possible Neville had a laboratory downstairs...I mean, wasn't it his house before the whole apocalypse thing. He's a world-famous scentist no? Why can't he have a lab downstairs?
CinemaSins tends to nitpick and sin things that aren't sins so... Yeah...
because that lab was specailised with anti zombi disease atuff only which he wouldn't be able to get unless he knew the zombi apocolypse would happen before it does
Well, they did know about the disease before it actually spread by becoming airborne and the military could have stocked him up with plenty of possible cures before the apocalypse happened.
yeah that's fair to say I guess
cuz he's an idiot.FUCKING GOOD REASON!!
You should remove at least 5 sins for the superb heartfelt scene of him killing his dog. Smith knocked that out of the park bro. Comon.
Will Smith is a nonce
Smith knocked the movie out of the park. The mannequin scene after the dog... damn.
@@dixonbutts800 for those who read the book, the movie sucks. For those who didn't, or don't care, the movie is good because it keeps me on the hook.
he did really well with the whole kinda losing it thing. But honestly, while this is far from an amazing movie, its the best film adaptation we have by far and the book is truly amazing
@@tacomas9602 I also read the book. Honestly, the book and movie are so vastly different from each other that I consider them separate entities. The overlap was extremely small, and the movie completely missed the point of the title, especially by not going with the alternate ending. I still enjoyed both quite a bit.
I always figured the house he was living in was his house from before. The lab in the basement was already there before the outbreak because he is a scientist.
9 months late, Sorry for necroing. But it is indeed his house from before.
Knees weak arms are heavy
Slippery Storm he seemed pretty important with the way the military acted towards him when he tried to get his family on a helicopter...
BinxMan Very true!
Slippery Storm what do you mean by that sarcastic response? O.o implying he wouldn't be able to? For one he's a fucking scientist and they make more than a pretty penny, especially with his talent and likely his "rank". Shut up, ignorant turkey.
When I was younger I ALWAYS cried when the dog died.
Derpee Gaming why because they are cute? It bothers me more when a human dies rather than animals but maybe it's just me...
I agree. I usually don't care about animals. Big exception for this movie, because they really made you love the dog.
Derpee Gaming I named my.sister after that dog tbh
Derpee Gaming when I was younger I almost shit myself every time those infected came out at any point ever also I know love this movie since I'm older
The Player Formerly Known as Mousecop how did u name ur sister
Should’ve taken off a sin or two for the “Will Smith impersonates Eddie Murphy” bit, it was legitimately funny😂
"I like Shrek."
Depends on how you see it. It probably does deserve the sin, even though its a sad moment where it basically showed he was alone for 3 years and had no one to talked to so to stimulate human contact he kept watching movies. But if he knows every single dialogue from shrek then it suggests that he mostly watched shrek which is a sin cuz he could watch any movie he wanted.
"Knock knock."
"Who's there?"
"SUDDEN LION!"
"How has he been putting down the rats, with a heavy dictionary?" -That was actually pretty funny
When He said it, it was.
I double-tapped the left side of my phone several times to re-watch that part.
What does it mean? English isnt my first language so idk
A heavy dictionary it like a REALLY big hardcover book like 1000-1500 pages
Yaman Masad so imagine someone dropping a 1000 slab of concrete on you that’s what that means for the rats but just a dictionary that’s very heavy
The biggest sin this movie has is not using the original ending,
I concur, but unfortunately Cinema Sins tries their best to not sin based on the original material. They have done it a couple times before, but rarely.
It's not really using the original plot
But the original ending is in the DVD, they just decided to use the stupid one.
In the other ending, Smith's character Neville realizes that these creatures DO have some humanity left and the reason they're attacking is because the alpha male is looking for the girl creature that Neville captured. He lets her go and the creatures leave.
In our ending, he blows them all up AND himself because.......idk, Michael Bay took over for a second or something.
You mean from the book? Cause that was the saddest ending possible!
+Legendary Detective Wobbaffet it was awesome though, and meaningful
I cried so hard when the dog dies because she looked just like my dog. She has passed away now. Rest in peace Lucy. (I don't mean to upset anyone) She was a lovely dog, born on the same day as me and was the exact age as me, she was like a sister.
sorry for ur loss dude. must've been a great dog.
im so sorry love, its ok
+Nixo Monopip not even remotely funny
It's not supposed to be funny
+Nixo Monopip well arent you just the douchiest douche who ever douched?
I'm surprised he didn't sin the sacrificing himself bit. He coulda just thrown the grenade and then hopped in with them
The military blew up the bridges in the beginning
literally seems like this dude didn't even watch the movie? 85% of the "sins" have an explanation that whoever made this felt no need to research
@@Camewithpotato yep
@@Camewithpotato not the first time he has done that. he's actually terrible at criticism, i guess that's not really a bad thing.
I think they just add way more sins than make sense to pad out run time.
It’s likely that he left stuff out for the sake of not having to take sins off
I'm adding an extra like 10 sins because the alternate ending of the movie was better than the regular ending
It was a lot better
Agreed, it still wouldn't have saved the film but at least was slightly more interesting by comparison.
what was the alternate ending? was it after the credits or in a book?
neither the alt ending hints at the book ending, but the alt ending was actually shot and is part of the dvd extras. The book ending is that the hemocytes actually have a developed society and Dr. Neville has become a "daywalker" a creature of myth that hunts them in the light of day... a legend
Edit: added what the book ending was
You forgot the bit where he suicides at the end instead being executed for hunting said hemocytes (or as they were in the book, vampires).

What I found weird was that when they rescanned his wife she was negative for the virus so dosent that mean that many of the other people in line be wrongly scanned?
yeah but that doesnt matter
Yes and that part was on purpose. Helps you realize how things got so bad when the technology designed to find healthy people was faulty, therefore potentially spreading the virus even further by allowing people with false positive readings to go through.

You're right, this is just a satirical video so maybe he left it out purposefully or just didn't notice it
will smith is a wicked scientist or army or anything he can and that woman is always right for everything so they build the bridge. awesome right...?
As if the virus will walk their way from the city to the rest of the world, they are airborne dude, they don't need birdges.
Kaustuv Pradhan It was the beginning of the virus,I'm pretty sure they didn't know it was airborne
Yeah, thats why they were being evacuated by helicopter.
The covering over the buildings(to contain the virus in the building)
is a reflection on how frightened and desperate society would be in the face such a horrific outbreak. The soldiers drew their weapons towatds each other because they were frightened and on edge, because they were torn between duty and a natural desire to desert and go home to their families and friends during a terrifying and unprecedented crisis. The dog hearing the infected outside the house would certainly bark causing the infected to possibly investigate neville's home(a clear plot hole). He doesn't get another dog because like most dog owners he loves her and considers her family and they may not be as common as you think, domestic animals would easy picking for the infected. The bridges and tunnels were destroyed by the military to quarintine the city.(no shit?) The infected sleep standing up, Why? probably to make them even creepier and less human. In "The Omega Man" (1971) the infected were far more sofisticated. The infected set up the trap that caught neville, so the infected are barely human yet still intelligent. When Neville says he's not going to let this happen to anna, he's talking about the total extinction of humanity, he correctly believes there's still time to save our species. Anna believes the colony exists for the similar reasons neville doesn't, she needs it to be there for hope, he needs it not to be there for hope, so he can stay on his purpose in new york to find a cure. If he believed there were a colony of people just a couple of hundred miles away he might be tempted to leave it all behind and go there to join them. Neville talks the infected near the end probably for the same reasons buildings were covered in plastic: fear, desperation, an irrational attempt to fix a horrific problem.

holy crap 69 likes in 1 day?
Hahaha when Will says “get your hands of my wife” hahaha
The biggest sin is that they changed the movie so much from the book that the title doesn't even make sense anymore. In the book, Neville goes through the city systematically killing the zombies on purpose until they catch him, at which point he realizes that they fear him, like a boogeyman. He will be their legend forever. They will tell their children, "Be good, stay in bed, or Robert Neville will get you."

And in all these kind of movies, when something happens, its ALWAYS in america. Why not asia or europe, or fucking ocean?
Hena pena Yeah zombies in the ocean how did you get that brilliant idea?
It's probably easier to make them about America just because the people making the movie are probably in America.
Hena pena the movie was made by an American studio and was advertised for Americans so why place it in a place most people won't recognize and have no connection to? Everyone knows about New York and everyone can spot out the landmarks of new York so they will use US cities because it works. Don't fix something that ain't broken.
Hena pena Watch Train To Busan for a Korean zombie apocalypse
Calling a M4 Carbine a "Machine Gun"....... *DING* +1 sin.
By your logic, that means "sub machine gun" is also wrong. One fires rifle rounds, the other fires pistol rounds.

I guess it's very stereotypical to call any full auto weapon, even a carbine rifle, a machine gun.
+Matthew Carpenter you are kinda being a hypocrite.
Matthew Carpenter >calling me pc >while being pc

"Virus somehow destroys Bridges!"
Later in the movie: *Haha A-10 go BRTTT*
4:00 pretty sure the bridge was destroyed to prevent the infection from spreading
Sounds like a terrible way to stop an infection from spreading
+somany5 Complete opposite. The same reason we cut infected limbs off is to stop the infected blood from flowing to the rest of the body. In a big city surrounded by many bridges connecting to the rest of the world, you cut off all simple routes of escape in order to prevent any of these vampire zombie mutants from getting to the rest of the world.
+somany5 Not really. If they weren't aware it was airborne at the time, it'd make sense to get rid of the bridge so infected wouldn't cross over it (and hopeing they couldn't swim and could still drown if they attempted to cross by water).
Makes perfect sense under the circumstances, honestly.
the movie literally shows jets blowing the bridges up with missiles during the last flashback
You can tell this guy has never owned a dog. I’d do anything to save my dog if that happened.
You'd risk your life 'n with that all hope to find a cure 'n thus mankind, to save a dog? O...K...
Truly inFAMOUS Productions so would your dog!
Agreed! Seriously, if my baby Blue was in danger, I wouldn't think, I would RUN, and fuck everyone and everything else (and yes, that includes my own safety)
@@dgerdi That's a great comment, and so true. A dog would (and has, over and over and over again, throughout history) die for their owner, without thinking of their own safety
Monster Gonzo yup coward, I don’t understand how you could live a shameless life knowing that you abandoned your family, you can live like shit after leaving the last of your family for your own miserable life
3:13- he probably has a lab because he built it years before the virus, he was apart of the military after all.
4:32- he could find another dog, but that one dog has meaning to him. He was the only other family he had after his wife and daughter died.
8:01- he probably cuddled him because he was feeling scared and sad cause he knew that his dog was pretty much already dead. Yes, he could've found a less painful, more quicker way to kill him, but it makes sense why he cuddled him then killed him.
about the lab also...i don't think its impossible either :D It is shown in the movie several times that he is obsessed with details, precision and has enormous amount of patience and perseverance.
He basically wen't crazy because of this, he just cannot stop. A man like that can achieve a lot in a matter of weeks, not years, even if he started from scratch.
I don't think he HAD a lab before the virus, why would he, at his own house? Same with the water heaters, yes, he probably installed them with lots of effort, and yes, he needed all.
There is winter there in NYC :D And energy does not come from thin air...so that's a sin off too I think.
Also the orgy of evidence in the movie -when he goes around abandoned houses- states that the virus does not killed everyone overnight.
There was months of struggle where people hoarded resources - that's why he can find them in houses- and probably time for different kind of levels of actions from the military.
One of them could possibly be providing him with said laboratory... ofc it's bullshit, cause it's not a wishing game at that point :DDD He would have been transported INSTANTLY to a secure facility, with his whole family.
But..then the plot could not happen. :D So all in all, I think it's well written, if we can just enjoy the atmosphere and assume that we don't know shit about military and viruses and less about laboratories. :DDD And I'm sure we actually don't :)

Hell, I had a Dobermann who lived till he was 13. I would never ever ever ever just go get me another dog!!! I would have gone to hell and back for him
Same for my Pomeranian! My he rest in piece. I'd take on the world with that dog and he'd be right by my side with that devilish grin waiting for some chaotic action.
Exactly
hell yeah dude
Almost all of these points are so absolutely not true or misleading or ignorant im gonna make a video proving every single one wrong
@the gayest kenji lavoski a good dog can be the best comrade you've ever had
2:15 - Dr. Neville didn't record a bunch of news because he knew he would one day be the last person in the world and would want to watch old newscasts for clues about the apocalypse. The TCR scrawled across the screen in the videos means Time Code Reading, which is used in editing videos before they are broadcast, the videos most likely came from the news station's own video library . . . which makes perfect sense3:15 - He didn't "confiscate the Brownstone", he lived in it before the apocalypse . . . notice his daughter's bedroom, with all her stuff still in it. Also, in the first flashback scene he pulls up in front of the Washington Square Arch (the same one that is shown getting blown to shit when the vampires attack his home), and meets his family coming down the stairs of that same house. Also, he is a military virologist so even if he didn't have that lab in his basement to begin with, he certainly had access to everything he would need to build said lab 4:06 - did you not watch the flashback scenes? The military blew up the bridges as part of their quarantine attempt, it was actually what was responsible for the helicopter crash that killed his family, kind of an important plot point, pay attention 8:40 - that wasn't a flashback, that was Anna driving him away from the pier
Rotor Hed 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👊
Also:
•the trap was heavily implied to have been set up by Robert, but used against him by the Darkseekers
•he didn't get a new dog because his daughter gave him Sam
•the thing about Darkseekers being completely inhuman was Robert being in denial, you could tell by his look
Rotor Hed 👏👏👏👏
Also he couldn’t get a new dog because all the dogs would die of starvation if they were stuck inside or get bit within days
Bro. You just cinema sinned cinema sins :o
*Everything wrong with the following*
Space Jam
Beauty and the Beast
The Little Mermaid
Ghostbusters
The Lego Movie
The Simpsons movie
Bee Movie
Land Before Time
Oliver and Company
Osmosis jones
An American Tail
Yugioh 3d bonds beyond time
wtf lol are you like 1
Some of these would actually be pretty great to do videos on.
R Jackson Yeah, and I can list a few sins
An American Tail: Fievel is ripping of episode 1 of One Piece where Luffy was in a barrel
Yugioh 3d bonds beyond time: "Yeah, sending people to the shadow realm and stealing people souls are good things.
Space Jam: Micheal Jordan isn't shocked about seeing Bugs Bunny at all.
ur like 10 for posting this
He wasn't?? Idk it's been awhile since I've seen it.
knock knock
who's there
SUDDEN LION
Certified Destroyer lmao.
Will Smith : Survived 3 years with a loyal German Shepherd Dog. Died after a day with a woman.
No sin for removing the original ending and ending of the book, that was far, FAR superior and actually made the movie good?
they dont judge the movies on whats in the books
yeah, Cinema Sins just started sinning randomized bs and editing misstakes.
+nathaniel scott Yeah but the DVD had an alternate ending that was much better
so the original ending of the book is better or not?
Rex67Diego9 fandub Much better, to summarise, they were just in the lab for the girl zombie, and it panned out that they say him as the creepy scary zombie. sounds underwhelming, but its really fucking good.
Think of your age
Add five
That's your age in five years
*slow clap*
My god your right!!!!!!
WHTATTAAATTTATATTATATATTATAT?!?!!?!?!?!!!?!!?!?!!?!?!???!!!?!!!?!?!?!?!??!??
Omfg! Give this man a fucking Nobel Prize! He just made the scientific breakthrough of a lifetime!
can't believe this actually worked! I'm subbing
you sinned the fact he had recorded TV broadcasts?
did you not see the constant time stamp on the footage, clearly it's the studio's own recording, they do keep records, he's alone, he obviously just went down to the studio & grabbed like a months worth of tapes so he'd have TV.
Fuzzy Duo that actually isnt that obvious. I didn't know studios actually kept all of their recordings
3:03 it does state later some people were immune. Hence why he was so dedicated to finding a cure. Explains why he built a lab, which when you think about everything being free and his previous knowledge about medicine doesn't make a home lab a sin.
Also the few people who were immune died from being physically attacked.
It also explains the camp that the two found at the end.
He has sins for everything, its satire dumbass.
It is that obvious, just not to you i guess. Most would assume that or make the connection. Where do you think all the footage a network replays comes from? Who would make a broadcast and not keep any record of it?
fearingz satire of movies or critiques?
Cinema sins: “just go find another dog”
John wick: hold my beer
3 years without seeing a human, and when one shows up, all shits happen, you lose your dog, you die, and all your shits get taken away, the last part of this movie really bugs me (one of the endings)
Dude WTF? I've seen 2 version of this movie. One were he uses the granade to kill the zombies in the lab and the other version ended with him arriving to the camp with the other kid and the woman.
HKS 302 there is two ending. The one where he lives is the alternate one.
I remember that too
I never seen the 2nd ending
The ending where he lives should've been the final edit tbh
@@jrlopez1027. a grenade goin off in a basement that size would have killed him even if he threw it, look up blast overpressure.
8:15 "She probably heard what you did to Fred" 😂
Or cheating husband I mean
"enter the room where there is only one means of entrance and exit."
that's actually a smart move if he took his gun, force them into a choke point and clear out a metric fuck ton of them as they try to get at you...The sin still stands because they DIDN'T go with that...apparently the people who made this never played the buried map of call of duty zombies.
He makes the dog food with such resolve because the last thing his daughter did for him was give it to him and tell him to take care of him. That's also why he chases the dog into the building. The way I saw it, the dog is Robert's daughter in his mind.
7:20 anyone see the mannequin (fred's) head move? always baffled me haha
Fr! I thought I was the only one!
Me too!
dude wtf
It’s bcs he went crazy and started seeing things.
It freaked me out when I watched the movie
3:55 *sighs in 2022 😔
lmfao i was looking for a comment like this ahahaha
Joe Biden: “I did that.”
4:05 didn't they blow the bridges up so you can't get to Manhattan?
Yep
you mean leave manhattan
The helicopter crashed in to the bridges
The bridges were destroyed by the military to keep the infected zombies on Manhattan. So no idea why he thinks the zombies destroyed the bridges.
Robert Frowny Jr 08:07 ugly thick lips
"Neville ducks and there's still a light in the mirror. He better watch out for that camera man behind him." XD
Lol😂😂😂😂
"Trying to reason with the creatures when..."
The irony is that the creatures actually had some humanity in the original story.
Granted, Neville didn't know that at this point, but still....
The whole point of the story was that neville is the creature's boogieman. He's the monster to them.
Actually, the real irony is that in the original (and far better) ending of the film he actually does reason with the creatures....
Remember the cardinal rules of CinemaSins: "The books do not fucking matter"
+Screwy No but I would think the original ending of the movie would matter. They only changed the ending because test audience didn't like it (proving once again that test audience are stupid).
1:01 - That looks like clear tarp. Probably from a construction/remodeling project on that building.
1:24 - He could've moved the cars himself for access.
7:35 the zombies.
Yes, it doesn't make sense with the 'MURICAN ending everybody knows, but the other, "decent" ending shows that the zombies are intelligent and they came back for the captured girl
Find 'N' Frag r
I thought that was kind of obvious... That one zombie guy seemed pretty pissed he kidnapped the girl. Which, you know, led to him trapping will smith with the same trap he used to capture the girl, and then there's a whole revenge rage attack for the rest of the film...
exsactly
I always thought it was obvious too, especially in light of the extremely sophisticated trap set up to catch Neville. That shit was mind fucking at its finest. It always disturbed me that it wasn't addressed in the theatrical release, and the deleted scene/alt ending didn't set it right either.
Was the alternate ending really only played in the US? Cause if so, that's some bullshit. The alternate ending is way better.
I'd 100% chase my dog into that terrifying cavern of zombies. No question
They arent normal zombies that need food they need fuckig blood like vampires or something
Right? RIGHT? And what he means saying "just get another one"? Are there dogs on every streets corner?
I totally would too! My dogs are family. Hands down I'd chase after them
Nathan Domke
Nathan Domke you say that but in reality no you wouldn’t lol
Wait wait wait did he just insult shrek
Compared to The Iron Giant, yes
Shrek is ass
@@lisapes187 watch you're fucking mouth
Danny Boy your ass on shrek ass.
@@lisapes187 ( ͡ᵔ ͜ʖ ͡ᵔ )
I feel like Neville underestimates the zombies a little. When he captures the female for testing, the male shows a clear emotional reaction which I think is just overlooked as a primal rage. They're still a lot more human than he's prepared to acknowledge.
I'm surprised you didn't say "why the hell is there a lion in New York"
It's probably Alex the Lion's relative that came from either the Central Park Zoo or the Bronx Zoo (seeing how Shrek is there) - probably Bronx, since the Central Park one is puny and has no lions.
Gemnist wow New York has 2 zoos!!!
Anyone else notice the manikin move his head at 7:19 ? or am I seeing shit
No it definitely moves its head.
That topic has been discussed since this movie came out. I had nightmares from that
It did. They got an actor to play it for that part to mess with the audience's mind and to show us a bit of what Neville sees.
^^Yup, beat me to it. The had a mime stand in and move slightly just to fuck with the audience since we were seeing "Fred" through Neville's shattered psyche
+Arkhamfreak217 I swear I knew one of those things moved, used to freak me out
4:00 Gas is now about $7.00... Sh## has officially hit the fan.
Jeremy must be a Cat Person. One does not just Get Another Dog.
The amount of sins directed at the dog was dumb.
One does not also only get another cat.
Norrin Radd *facepalm*
Yeah they do lmao
People replace pets all the time
Don't know about you but I only get another dog if mine has died.
Alright, so you sin him for not ditching the dog in the beginning in the zombie den, then sin the movie for killing the dog? *ding*
calm yourself child
@jamesk479 it wasnt a he. He calls the dog sam all through the film. Until she is bitten and he whimpers 'samantha' also he snaps its neck.
I think the movie acquired the sins by first off going in and saving the dog in a situation where it was a Darwin award type situation. And then later killing the dog when the poor pup tries to help its owner. If you are gonna have a pet in a movie, it should always survive. Or die quickly. Not tease death, then draw it out. sins for sadness
@jamesk479 Sam didn't die from disease. She died to the wounds, then reanimated as a zombie. He then snapped her neck, which cuts off the brain's connection, thus shutting her whole body down. Without a brain controlling the body, the zombie had no fuel, and thus died. Also, sam was no longer Sam when she turned into a zombie; she was merely a zombie. There's no need to kill someone in a merciful and painless way when they're no longer humane themselves, no?
Lol true
How did he not have any other type of emergency defense against the zombies (I’ll just call them that since it’s easier to remember) he had a little more than 3 years to prepare and try to prevent the zombies from getting into his house I also just realized how smart the movie is the creatures are nocturnal so that’s why will smith only goes out during the day and fortifies his house at night
A lot of Neville's behavioral quirks can be explained by long-term trauma and sustained isolation. He's sane enough to know the mannequins aren't real, but by constructing a veneer of normalcy he can maintain what sanity he's got. Then the survivors come in and pretty much totally upend the world and rationalizations he constructed for himself. This narrative arc works better with the original ending (where the hemocytes are shown to be sentient and he is the monster in the night, metaphorically, which in the original story was a brilliant twist on the standard post-apoc lone survivor plot), but because it didn't test well his story ended with him blowing himself up in a cliche'd sacrifice, having learned nothing, and it comes off more like Neville simply can't accept the new status quo the other two survivors introduced.
8:15 “she probably heard what you did to Fred..” 😂🤣😂
"You know the world ended because the gas prices got kind of high."
*me, today* HAHAAHAHA THAT'S ADORABLE
This was actually a really good movie
micheal jackson
Yes, and I hate it. I know it's a good movie, I can acknowledge that, but it annoys me and I absolutely hate it.
Pvshka Kinda harsh for a good movie
@@burnforburn I know, and I honestly don't know why. I think it's got something to do with all the dumb choices characters make.
@@pvshka I love this movie in my opinion, but yes dumb decisions were made but it was still pretty suspenseful😅
a lot of sins should be taken off
The shrek scene is my favorite. Also the helicoptor scene in the flashback... This was a great movie one of will smiths top 5
2 sins you missed. How did a crappy Ford get into NY when all the bridges were blown and the tunnels flooded. Also who is going to believe an African Lion survives 3 years of NY winters?
Ron Petrie - climate change? This is supposed to be well into the future, I mean Gas prices have doubled and that would explain if the virus can survive NY winters too. But then the whole Vermont colony wouldn’t make sense cause it would be the same thing. Oh well, still a great movie and the dog dying makes my cry every time
Campin out in the towers 😂
Plenty of empty deserted homes & buildings..no-one around..the Lion & his pride likely just helped themselves inside an abandoned home & made themselves at home on some comfy mats, couches & beds..kept out of the worst of it & just hibernated.
But, seriously..
Animals are no-where near as weak & sooky as humans mate..
Just as D H Lawrence wrote:
"I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself..a tiny bird will fly for hundreds of miles, and fall frozen, dead, to the ground..
Without ever, once, having felt sorry for itself.."
Just imagine, then..as John Lennon implored, what miracles a friggin' LION might achieve, then!
And (sigh) as for the ford..it was probably already there, pre apoc..couldn't say, i wasn't there.
I'm just gonna assume it was an inside joke of some sort, or paid product placement, and there just to give the sense of a little improv action scene early on, for the younger, millennials & ADHD viewers, that really need the early-on action sequences, to make it through a whole movie..and just be happy with that.
But Hey, they each both ROARED, for their respectively short scenes!
hazah
The alternate ending shows a partially destroyed but still driveable bridge still exists and what if the lion came from a zoo?
4:23 I would go in there for my dog...
Be like JOHN CENA HAS STEPPED IN BUILDING
OH OH OH OH HES BREAKING THERE NECK OHHHHHHHHHHH
Ikr? That was like the least questionable thing ever. To the already loneliest guy on Earth, losing his only companion is essentially a death sentence, as we literally see not an hour later in the movie.
CoqPwner I am Legend was my favorite movie back when I was like 5
so you're what 14 max? get off youtube and do your homework ;)
I love this movie. There's something about apocalypse movies and the isolation on earth that I love and I find so interesting
If you love this movie and have not watched "Last Man on Earth" with Vincent Price (which sticks 90% true to the book) or "Omega Man" with Charleton Heston you should watch those
real good apocalypse movie for sure
sarah elizabeth loved the movie and still do
Actually one of my favorite movies
You should see a therapist.
