After chemotherapy & being bald , I don’t have a length goal I am just grateful for hair 😊 any amount, I’ve come a long way & I’m never cutting my hair again 🥰
Hi, if you don't mind, would you tell me how you got your hair to start growing from bald? I lost mine due to stress and health over 6 years ago and I'm still struggling to get fuzz to grow.😓
@@reignsworld1979 no I don’t mind, as soon as I saw the first bit of fuzz I started a regimen, I washed & conditioned it every week ( I still do that now ) I oiled my head & covered it with a bonnet, I put peppermint essential oil& castor oil together & rubbed it on my scalp daily also I prayed for my healing & then the hair came along🥰 Prayer for healing is what I think helped the most.
I knew the myth that so called natural hair gurus of today were LYING about the dangers of hair grease. I'm sixty five years old who has only used grease, mostly Royal Crown, to grease my scalp and hair and at my age still have almost waist length hair. The only things do different now is I add peppermint oil and castor oil to my grease and also prepoo.
I agree, my mom used Royal Crown as well and my mother had 4 little girls with waist length hair my mom too and dad use to do our hair. Those were the days.
My mother used to use Royal Crown and Hair Rep grease on me and my sister's hair! She would buy Sulfur 8 for my older brother b/c he had really bad dandruff. As we got older we started using Afro Sheen.
I don't listen to these Johnny come lately folks. Still use hair grease too. Easiest way to make sure my hair stays soft and manageable. Notice how they have to keep slathering on the products. And the rewetting. I wet once a week on wash day.
I literally screamed two days ago when i found Blue Magic in a store in Zimbabwe lol. I never thought i would get it here, i had to buy two. I'm glad I'm getting back to hair grease as well
I ditched hair grease once I started following most 'natural hair care routines' and my hair has been breaking off and same length for like 2 yrs, now I went back to hair grease, Blue Magic and I my hair remains moisturized for like two days! It's now my go to sealant, can't believe I have been complaining and stressing about dry and brittle hair. My goal now is healthy armpit length jair 😊 thanks for making this video💓
I feel you girl!! This winter I refuse to have anymore brittle and breakage. My hair is getting thinner by the moment. I realize I wasn't putting enough jojoba oil too because when I do what a difference. I just started another deep conditioner too. I had been using Shea Mositure for years, it's not working like it used too or maybe too much protein. It wasn't this complicated when we were kids, lol
Thank you for that informed reminder! I'm from the 60's and hair grease was THE WAY!!! Also, EVERY 2 WEEKS, same beautician, same time, same place (like Batman), me and my grandmother were getting our hair washed and straightened. Hair Grease Maintenance, applied to parted sections, 1 - 2 times a week only, kept our hair JUST RIGHT...and REGULAR Growth. Healthy scalp and hair. Sometimes we need to go back to the good ole way. I think I'll add just a little neem, or peppermint, or tea tree essential oil to my ole skol Afro Sheen.
I'm older. I want to keep healthy hair. I haven't relaxed my hair since early 2020 before the pandemic. It has grown a lot. I have some thin sections that I want to grow out. I enjoy your advice. God bless you. 🙏
You are the GOAT OKAY ! I started using hair grease to lock in moisture in my hair after watching your videos ! My hair has retained moisture for much longer than before when I was using oils . It’s wonderful to get to know the science behind products from a a black female chemist ! You’re amazing thank you for your videos !
I love Blue magic and it really helps my hir. I have honestly been able to recover from alopecia by adding this to my regimen. My hair is now thriving and I am glad it doesn't block pores as some UA-camrs claim. I never listen totem though. I just do what works for me :)
My grandpa grew up with grease as well. He grew up in the 1950s. Say what you want about grease but if you wash it out weekly and moisturize it first, if you know what your doing you’ll litearly be fine. And it’s just something in those ingridents that really feed the scalp and have it grow like a weed
After following the natural hair movement for so long + the curly girl method, my hair has become a brittle, breaking mess, and the slightest tug causes it to snap--I will now be returning to hair grease. I cant believe I let these natural hair gurus fool me into thinking hair grease was the devil when my mom used hair grease so much on me back then, and my hair thrived.
@@chickensoup123456789 My hair is thriving again. Truly. At first I struggled because it was difficult to get back into a routine, but once I figured it out, my hair responded so well. I don't use the hair grease liberally, I'm very light-handed with it. After I go through my wash day process, when I'm ready to style, I apply a small amount to the roots of each section i make. I then use a leave in or curl cream on the lengths of my hair and either twist or braid it. I then add a tiny amount of grease to the tips of my hair and curl the tips around my finger instead of braiding it all the way. It has really helped me maintain a healthy regimen.
@@chickensoup123456789 I replied to your comment earlier, but UA-cam must have messed up because I don't see it. To answer your question though, it was the best decision I've ever made for myself. My hair stopped breaking unnecessarily and it's easier to detangle. However I don't use the grease throughout my entire head. I use it on my scalp and the ends of my hair. On the lengths/shaft, I use a leave in conditioner or a curl cream, depending on what I have at the time. My hair has welcomed the changed.
I don't know why I'm listening to the Kim is he says it does not clogged pores but all I know is when I stopped using anything on my scalp years ago , my hair really took off growing. I just assumed grease or oil on my scalp thwarted growth.
Good point...although I must admit that I was quite surprised when she said that grease does not clog pores....I use grease from time to time anyway b/c I like the results.
Even my dermatologist that helped me with my scalp issues says grease doesn’t clog pores she literally was like “ DO YOU KNOW WHAT CLOG PORES LOOK LIKE MS.RICHARDSON ? You would have red painful bumps all over your head if blue magic was clogging your pores lmao
GodLovesVon , So true. The molecules of petroleum Jelly are to large to penetrate the scalp, that is why hair grease does not clog the pores. It is also a neutral 7 like water is on the acidity/alkaline levels, it's right in the middle. Hospitals and care facilities use Vaseline, aka Petroleum Jelly, all the time. My Mom used hair grease in her hair up until she passed at 95 and never had a clogged pore. I have always had some form of it around since the '60's. Some hair gurus, while meaning well, don't truly know or understand what a true clog pore look or feel like.
I over love your knowledge and honesty about hair grease. Ever since I reverted back to using hair grease, my hair is thriving all because of my childhood hair grease. I literally just subscribe solely because of this video.
I’ve gone back to using Dax hair grease again. I love the stuff. I spray my hair adequately with water first, use the hair grease then top with a strong hold gel (the edge Booster Styling gel is the my favourite currently). My hair stays moisturised for a good 3-4 weeks. I tend to wash every 2 months (I do my hairline more often as I use rogaine there). So I only have to re-moisturise once before I wash my hair again. My goal is mid-thigh length when stretched out. I’m at bra strap length currently. So I have a good 4 years to wait 😩😩
I’ve never heard of the edge booster gel? Where do you buy it and is it better than Eco Styler? (Eco Styler flakes on my hair and doesn’t work well with grease)
My hair goal is to keep it moisturized this winter without me having to apply product twice a day. I'm 3c/4a Biracial girl and I tried out hair grease bc nothing else was working w this winter weather. It's so nice to be able to see that my hair is staying moisturized. Hoping for less breakage now
I’m trying not to focus on length so much. I just want to keep it healthy and perhaps the length will follow. Speaking of hair grease, a few years ago I was at the gym. I had washed my hair and pulled out hair grease to style it. A woman told me not to use grease. I used it and still use grease to this day. I just found it interesting how upset she was about me using grease.
I use dax lanolin. I was introduced to the moisturizing benefits of lanolin in 2016 when i had my daughter. It doesn't have a smell and is awesome for sealing me and my daughter's fine hair
I've tried all the expensive moisturizers for natural hair. Nothing seem to work quite right so I went back and tried grease again. It worked perfectly.
I recently been thinking about hair grease. Always, was told it clog pours. I remember growing up as a child and grease being the only choice of moisture I recall being used, and it locked in moisture and produced strong heathy hair. Therefore, I'll be adding it back into my health care journey! Thanks, for sharing. I recently started following you and have enjoyed all of your videos thus far!🤗🥰
I'm a blue magic super sure grow for spring/summer and castor oil for fall and winter. And since I found the right combination of products, my hair is thriving.
Hi there. Which castor oil are you using? Is it the Jamaican Black Castor Oil or the regular castor oil? I purchased the regular for use on my brows at night and wondered how it would actually do on my scalp. 😊
Hi@margretwhite5620, are you still using the grease and oil regiment in this way and are you satisfied with it? I want to start this regiment now this coming sping and summer. Thanks for sharing.
Hello. I’m focusing on healthier hair. I just started using small jar of Royal Crown hair grease. Back in the days there was nothing wrong with using hair grease and our hair as African Americans was so long. We grew up and started trying new products and all went hey wired to hair shedding, breakage, alopecia just unhealthy. We tend to listen to society it’s not good to use petroleum or hair grease that’s a lie grandmothers used it and it was no problem. I’m taking a stand and using what’s best for me. Thank you for your video very inspirational.
Since I watched one of your initial videos on hair grease I’ve been using this as my sealant. My hair had been so soft since reintroducing hair grease into my regimen. I was just thinking earlier this week of putting hair grease on my scalp after my was routine will help with my dry scalp. This video is right on time!
Retaining length thanks to yr tips and going back to hair grease. I am below BSL for the first time in my whole life and I turn 60 in July!!! Today used Kuza to coat my hair before getting into pool (after wetting it with water). Thanks again for all yr efforts!!!
After becoming an adult, I moved away from hair grease. I hated the "greasy" feel of the hair. It just took some trial and error with other products for me to remember that our parents used hair grease nearly exclusively on our hair and it grew like wildfire and it stayed on our heads. Needless to say I am a user again.
I stopped using oils about 2 months ago. Ths oils were making my hair shed excessively.I switched to hair grease. My hair is not shedding, the shedding stopped. My hair is so soft, and my ends aren't breaking.
I just bought the blue magic coconut oil again. My hair was so healthy using that. My hair is so high porosity. And my scalp itches by day 2. So greasing the scalp again. Jamaican black Castor oil helps my hair as well but still won't stay moisturized for more than a day.
Somehow I'm beginning to believe that whoever started the rumor about hair grease blocking the pores were lying and simply trying to sell us on other products to make money. I grew up in the 60's and everyone who used grease on their hair and scalp had thick, moisturized, long hair. I am so mad that I veered away from that because I wanted to grow my hair so much faster only for it to break off faster with the new fangled methods. I'm going back to hair grease and may be adding tea tree, peppermint oil and/or rosemary oil to my hair grease. And I will be sealing my ends with hair grease. 🎉🎉 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’m focusing on both 🥴 I’m definitely trying to grow my hair to bra strap length. When I was growing up Blue Magic was the grease that all the girls in my family used!! A little Blue magic and put some water on that hairbrush was all we needed to make a poppin ponytail 🤣Now that thinking about it my hair was never dry. I’m going to try hair grease this week instead of my usual hair oils and see how it works. Thank you for this video💜
Bring it back with the water on the hairbrush!!! Girl, that was my Mama’s favorite move when she would put that Blue Magic in mine and my sisters’ hair. No Edge Control was needed because Blue Magic covered a lot of ground.
You convince me. I’m going to try hair grease on half of my high porosity hair. Now I have to figure out which one to try. You steered me in the right direction with coconut oil.
I have high porosity hair and I love Nature's Blessings pomade. It's lightweight and has a consistency of hair grease. It has natural ingredients like nettle, rosemary, sage, peppermint, thyme, alfalfa, olive oil, coconut oil, bergamot oil, chlorophyll, pure mineral jelly.
@@CurlyChemistry I chose Softee Indian hemp oil grease from Walmart. I saturated my hair with water and my leave in conditioner. I add Pyrithione Zinc to any of my leave in conditioners at .25% for my seborrheic dermatitis. Then I add the grease. The application was stiffer than I like so I added a little argan oil (non comedogenic)to it to loosen it up a bit. My hair took about 20 hours to air dry. Take down was very easy. (Day 1)My hair felt and looked very moisturized. I’ll report back over the next 6 days.
I really tried with grease, its still a no for my hair. But I can use a thick oil like castor oil just fine... that leaves my hair so soft and keeps the moisture in when I'm not doing a wash n go style.
I'm focusing on health and retention. My hair is shedding in the front and top and breaking on the sides while the middle back is thriving. I was skeptical when I saw your first video, but I am so glad I subscribed anyway. I have learned more from this channel than I have been taught about my hair ever. The video you posted about which oils penatrate the hair shaft turned the tide for me in the struggle with my hair and dryness. It listed flaxseed oil. I have it in my pantry to season my caste iron pans. I mixed some up with fenugreek powder and and water and mist it on my hair and scalp. At first everyday. About 2-3 days in I noticed my hair wasn't dry at the end of the day. At this point deep conditioning once a week in my wash day routine (which I was doing b4 and still dried out in 2-3 days) and misting with the flaxseed oil mixture I don't get dry at all. I may be able to extend my wash day to every 2 wks, which was not a possibility b4. Thank you.
Great video!!! I have switched back to hair grease over the last month as a sealant!! I am loving what I see so far. I have high density HP hair almost at BSL. My aim is MBL....so 6 more inches and I am good!
Then it will grow. It is quite ironic that when the focus switches from obsessing about length to that if consistent care....length naturally follows because consistent care ( wash, deep condition with a balanced amount of moisture and the occasional protein treatment, leave in and sealant) is what keeps your hair, most particular your ends, on your head.
Hair grease was all I knew growing up, my mom's choice for our hair, was bergamot, and royal crown. I recently tried various types of grease, but for some reason they didn't keep my hair moisturized I went back to oils, and my hair retains moisture, for up to four days. I think the formula has been changed. Do what your hair loves, not what paid influencers tell you. Trial and error is the best way to find out what food your hair thrives on. I pray that God will reveal to you what your crown likes.
I use Sulphur 8 on my teen son's scalp. He gets dandruff. Head & Shoulders has been great for his scalp. In between washes, I use Sulphur 8 sometimes. It better not create hair growth, lol, he already has SO MUCH. I am a bit jealous. I never had as much. For the past few weeks, I've been doing your PMP suggestion for my type 4, EASILY knotted, breakable thin strand hair. Only pre-pooed (Penetrating product) once. But, I MUST use detangling jelly b4 wash. After shampoo, Moisturize with SCurl spray + Pantene Creme. I Protect/seal with cheap Softee hair "dressing." Been doing unflattering 2 strand twists, too. But the shine is amazing!Separately, the products don't give me the same look. Before sealing, I grease my scalp with Aloe Vera gel. Very soothing. Maybe it will help my hair to grow... the goal.. Time will tell.
I recently started following you and your advice has helped me so much in my natural hair care. As a child my mom used to make hair grease for my hair. She never brought the petroleum jelly(which was popular back then) because she said my hair didnt agree with it. But the homemade grease worked because I had really long hair back then. But my hair was so thick and long (leave in conditioner didnt exist) i eventually relaxed my hair and lost track of how she maintained my hair. Sadly I didnt pay attention to how she made the grease so I dont know what to do.
I've always had good results with grease, was relaxed over 20 years now I'm natural, Blue Magic has worked well, I recently added some Amla powder, peppermint oil and rosemary to my grease, will see what the results are after 2 months. It's never clogged my pores....
Thank you for this. Growing up in a blue magic only household I never realized there were lighter grades of grease. Blue magic doesn’t work well for me so I might give softee a go
I love this channel so much. It's so funny that I'm seeing this video about 3 weeks after I started mixing some Rosemary into my Blue Magic. I only did it because I'd heard Rosemary was good for the hair and scalp but I find the fragrance too overwhelming. Mixing it into the hair grease really calms down the scent. I also use one of those "Mama" hair tips I'd forgotten about for moisturizing my hair between washes: spraying on some water and lightly palming hair grease through, section by section.
Great content. I remember at the beginning of my journey, the natural hair community advised to stay away from grease, but grease helped me get to MBL. But protein overload broke my hair, so now I’m working to get back to MBL.
Currently battling eczema with starter locs. The covid crisis pushed me back into natural hair. I completed the big chop then remained loose natural for a year. Sick of wash days and detangling for hours I decided to embrace locs. Hormonal changes of age worsened my skin/scalp condition. I now have time to focus on scalp health. My true motivation for going natural! To me length isn't my focus. Because I know that a healthy scalp will yield healthy long hair! I'm going to implement some blue magic or sulfur 8 with my self made hair growth oil. Currently it has not been locking in moisture.
I want to get stronger hair especially since I’m trying to transform from not getting my hair straightened as much anymore. But at the same time, I would like to grow my hair to bra strap length and make sure it grows evenly. One side of my hair is longer than the other and I’m not sure why. But I’m trying to get it together lol. Finally, I would like to get my braid outs and twists out to last longer. I just bought the kuza beeswax grease that you mentioned in this video and a previous video and I absolutely love it so far. It doesn’t make your hair shrink up at all and my hair actually feels moisturized. Thank you for the recommendation!
I want to have mid back hair length, and a healthy hair, of course 😊 I started to use hair grease again because my curly cream doesn't mix well with oils. I retained moisture for a longer time, since I workout 5 timed a week. Hair grease is excellent 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾 And I really don't remember why left hair grease for years, but I'm back.
My goals is on quality right now then growth but I can attest that once I switched from oils to grease in my LOC method. I just do leave in and grease my hair has been thriving!!!
I love grease & also keeping my hair in medium twists vs big twist keeps my hair moisturized longer bigger twist dry out so easily on me especially my roots I have puffy roots 💆🏽♀️
I am so happy that this video came up as a suggestion. I am definitely going to subscribe!! My hair goal is waist length but I need to to work on retaining length by using less heat. As far as the the hair grease goes, I knew that people were wrong. Back in the 80's my mother washed and pressed my hair every week. She used a hot comb and used a variety of greases including Blue Majic, Sulfer 8, and soft sheen Carson's Bergamot. My hair was almost waist length as a child, so why wouldn't these products work today?? Truth is those same products yield the same results that they did in the 80's.
I just relaxed about 2 weeks ago and i hate it!! My hair is shedding severely. I decided to go back natural by doing the big chop. Im pushing for health over lenght right now. I love your videos, they are very imformative.
@tammy brown, you made me remember when i relaxed my hair.I didn't know what to do with my natural hair anymore...so i relaxed it and as soon as i did that😒i regretted it.I just dont like the shrinkage in my natural hair but im trying my best not to go back to the creamy crack
@@somethingspecial1415 dont!! You just have to do trial and error to see what works with your hair. At the end, i no longer tried to figure out my hair type, i just used products that were for my hair. Learn to embrace that shrinkage because in the long run its going to be healthy and beautiful.
My goal is 22" ☺ wherever that will be. Also my all time favourite hair grease is Kuza the Indian hemp one.....did you know "kuza" in Swahili means "to grow"....well now you know. 🇰🇪
I just realized something, you have wheat germ oil up there as a comedogenic one. I used that on my face, and I started breaking out. When I stopped using it, I stopped breaking out. When I used it again, I started breaking out again. I knew the wheat germ was causing it, just didn't know why. Now I do though. 😃 Thanks for that information.
Thank you for this information. I use grease and oils. I dislike oils because it gets all over my clothes and pillows. I am experiencing postpartum shedding therefore my hair is thinning out. I am looking for healthy hair and the length will follow. I am challenging myself to use only grease for 30 days just to see if I notice any growth and fullness to my strands. I can honestly say grease defines my curls better than any product I could ever use. I currently use blue magic and been using it for years. My hair responds to it very well. I will continue to use grease the thicker the better 😊
Thanks!!! Great info!! Been using similar advice from others since Jan 29th and have had great results...seems my hair has grown about 4 inches since then, using the advice of a hair grease mixture!! Obviously it doesn't have to be a mixture....at this point of the journey, I am tweeking what works ON my relaxed fine hair. But hair grease is working for me!! My hair looks like it is in a natural state because I only do braid outs!! So no worries about it being, or looking weighed down!!No heat....
I have locs, and just went back to grease because of shedding. Started using a grease called Nature’s Blessing again (I use it to re-twist and on my scalp and the length of my hair), and shedding has almost completely stopped. I’m at bra strap length now, and going for waist-length, where I’ll keep them trimmed.
My hair growth length is waist length, but right now I'm focusing on the health, because my scalp...goodness, it's been a hot mess which is why my hair isn't thriving. I blame the hard water where I live, but I'm too lazy to boil water every time. I'd love if you could do a video about how hard water can affect the scalp, if that's even a thing, because I do see the difference. I was asking my mom about hair care back in the day some time ago, she used to wash her hair with blue soap then use hair grease and she had the most beautiful, thick hair. I'm not saying wash your hair with blue soap, but I find that I was doing too much with my hair and it wasn't happy, I've learned to keep it simple.
My problem is breakage. I do the LCO method and still get lots or breakage so I think I’m going to incorporate grease into my routine, especially to seal my ends.
Grease is a better sealant for my hair than oil. Grease keeps my hair moisturized for days so I have stopped using leave in conditioners on my low porosity hair as it gave me product residue
I just want healthy hair. It's gray and breaking. I know l have low porosity hair and is starving for moisture. That's it. Really enjoy your classes; it's not a "show" to me because l am learning so much. Thanks.
What you know about Myrtle Beach ?! 😃 I have no length goal (always had long hair) I just want to keep it thick and healthy. My current goal to get fullness back in my edges.
Castor oil, coconut oil, and a tip of mineral oil or liquid paraffin in vaseline, or Royal Crown. That is what my mother used on me and that is what I use too. For a few years I bought into the "no grease trend' and watched my hair get dry and break off. Suddenly experienced and invasion of single-strand-knots😱 - never ever experienced them while using grease. My high porousity, extremely dense 4c hair thrives with grease because it, along with castor oil (regular), are the only things that actually seals in the moisture in my hair. Had to stop using anything with lanolin in it on my scalp (and the rest of my skin) because it make it itch and flake like crazy.
Loved this! Almost felt guilty starting to use grease again. I’m at bra strap length and my goal is waist length. You didn’t tell us your hair goal in the video. Where you at now girl and where you going what all that mane?!
My hair goal right now is 3 -4 inches below imy collar bone. Just started using B&B super growth, now I'm going to add 3 drops of peppermint oil. Also, I committing to wearing a bonnet EVERY night AND to keep my hands off on my hair. Great Channel ,❤️❤️❤️
Healthy and mid-back length. After years of stress, chlorine (Aquacise Instructor 3 years), chemical, mechanical, and heat damage, I've found my go to products brands and home DIY's that my hair and scalp love. Scalp massages are a must so I keep my hair straight, stretched, hydrated, and moisturized. Love the Woman who looks back at you in the mirror Ladies, You're Worth it. Namaste' 🙏🏽
I have the health of my hair Under Control! I big chopped on March 3q, 2020 and am now at APL! MAD shrinkage which I LOVE! I am now looking to reach BSL by next summer 2023! My hair is doing very well at this present time.
I'm quite excited to try hair grease because I naturally have high porosity hair and not even thick oils like castor oil seal in the moisture!! Hopefully it will work. Thank you!!
Hi ! Can you please do a video on prp ? I was diagnosed with lupus a decade ago and my hair grows but the density has never been the same... 🥺. I would say that I have half the hair I had before becoming ill. Thank you so much 🙏🏾
Hey! I would recommend seeing a trichologist in your area for solutions concerning health related hair challenges. I may consider making a video on medical solutions for hair care in the future, but in the mean time I tend to stay in my lane of expertise. I hope you get the answers you need soon. 💜
Hope you are managing well enough after the lupus diagnosis. I have mental health and internal issues stunting my growth. I do have a trichologist who helpfully pointed out I needed to de-stress. Quite hard in this pandemic right now. At this point, I'm just happy to have hair because I know people that stress triggered permanent alopecia. The cheaper treatments that I had were steam, topical stimulation products, red light therapy and electrostimulation. After 2 years most of the thinning has grown back. I'm glad because I didn't want to spend a lot of money or spend months and months in treatment.
Right now I'm trying to attain waist length. After noticing a lot of breakage and damage on my strands and not achieving the desired growth I was expecting, I went back to my childhood and thought "why was our hair so healthy back then"? Then it dawned on me: hair grease!! So I'm excited to hear you speak on this subject matter. Question though: I noticed your video listed Coconut Oil as a potential clogger. I thought of it as a hair growth oil. So how can it promote growth and clog the pores on the scalp at the same time?
I'm not sure I want waist length because Lagos is a very hot city and I don't think I want to punish myself with long hair. However, health is my goal and with it comes length. By the way, I'm a Dax fan and I use Indian Hemp currently. Thanks for all you do.🙏🏿
GREAT video as usual sis! My goal is healthy shoulder length hair. I'm going to let it grow out until my 50th birthday which is 3 years away. So whatever length it is then it's what it's going to be. No heat until then!
Hair health! I suffered with alopecia due to medication and it has grown back, but not as thick and full. My mom used Dax and Sulfur 8 growing up, and my sister and i had BSL.
Dax was definitely in the line up someone suggested taking liquid iron. Your iron level could be low which is why the hair is thinning or thyroid condition.
Hope you are having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend! I want but length hair so that when it shrinks it will look more like mid back length hair. Or maybe not because now I'm waist-length and it seems to still want to shrink up to my shoulders and sometimes even shorter. And since I have a short neck, shrinking up to my shoulders is pretty short looking.
This is an awesome video in two ways. The growth tutes are great and useful. Then I read a comment thread, between two women connecting, trading info, sharing love, caring for each other, praying for each other. Brave strong sisters❤

Hair grease mixed with castor oil is the only thing that keeps my daughter's thick 4c hair moisturize.
That’s amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Are you using it on both the scalp and the hair?
Regular or black castor oil?
@@pisces031372aj I use blue magic and mixed it with organic castor oil on my daughter hair it's very soft
That’s awesome, I will definitely try that.
One of the most important hair care videos on UA-cam, nothing trendy. Truthful and straight to the point.
Thank you! 💜
Thank you Lina!! So glad you’re seeing RESULTS! 💜
My mama said the same thing she was born in the forty’s hair grease was the essential for hair growth and retention
I love Blue magic and it really helps my hir. I have honestly been able to recover from alopecia by adding this to my regimen. My hair is now thriving and I am glad it doesn't block pores as some UA-camrs claim. I never listen totem though. I just do what works for me :)
Amazing! Thank you for sharing!
I’ve started back using hair grease and I definitely feel a difference in my strands. No length goal just full thick hair for me 😍😍 love your Channel.
Same here. OMG, they really put out a lot of false information.
How have you been finding it since you switched back? I see your comment was posted 2 years ago

My hair is thriving again.
@@chickensoup123456789
I replied to your comment earlier, but UA-cam must have messed up because I don't see it.

Coming out!?! 😨 Jesus.
I gotta check her out and see this for myself, damn.
I’ve been saying for years grease doesn’t clog pores. A lot of lotions has a petroleum but your leg hair still grow as an example, lol
Exactly, never stopped using it.
GodLovesVon
, So true.
Thank you! ☺️
What is your hair type??
People getting upset over hair care is sad. I see it a lot on UA-cam. I’m a huge advocate of “doing what works for you”.
My hair fell out last year, so I’m just trying to thicken my hair. I would eventually like to grow it back to BSL.
@@DivaDlux121 plain regular castor oil.
@@margaretwhite5620 Thank you so much!
Same! I just use less than what my mom used on me so I don't leave oily stains everywhere
I stopped using oils about 2 months ago. Ths oils were making my hair shed excessively.I switched to hair grease. My hair is not shedding, the shedding stopped. My hair is so soft, and my ends aren't breaking.
Does anyone remember Hair Food hair grease back in the days? I was so glad to see Softee hair food grease in Dollar Tree.
My mom used that on me as a kid. My hair was super thick and long back then

Just picked me up some from dollar tree.
I just bought the blue magic coconut oil again. My hair was so healthy using that. My hair is so high porosity. And my scalp itches by day 2. So greasing the scalp again. Jamaican black Castor oil helps my hair as well but still won't stay moisturized for more than a day.

So all the times I was told hair grease blocks your pores were lies???? Welp, looks like I'm adding hair grease back to my hair care routine!
Started using it again and it works wonder
I've been using grease again and my hair stays moisturized & soft! I use it on wet hair.
Works better for me on wet hair as well. It stays so moisturized and soft!
You convince me. I’m going to try hair grease on half of my high porosity hair. Now I have to figure out which one to try. You steered me in the right direction with coconut oil.
Keep me posted! ☺️
I use LisaAkbari Oil Sheen in a Jar as my hair grease. It is all natural. Sometimes I add castor oil with it.
@Papa F Jose yes, overloaded with great ingredients for my hair growth and it's working wonders.
My hair goal: healthy, maximum density, maximum thickness, maximum fullness around my perimeter all while having natural hip length hair.
Omg and a healthy scalp we will get there. 🤞🏾

I'm trying for both hair health and waist length , right now is at my shoulders.
I really tried with grease, its still a no for my hair. But I can use a thick oil like castor oil just fine... that leaves my hair so soft and keeps the moisture in when I'm not doing a wash n go style.
Why is it a no for you?
@@IAmHisBeloved5 maybe shes type 3, or just a silkier texture
Yesss! Go girl!
I am focusing on keeping my hair healthy if it grows as well ! Great.
My goal is quality hair at mid-back length.
Focusing on health and I expect the length to follow. Shooting for tail bone.
Yes tail bone!! You can do it! 😆
Im under my collarbone, praying for armpit length in a couple more months🙏🏼💕💕
My ultimate goal is to sit on my hair😅😅
I Protect/seal with cheap Softee hair "dressing."
Been doing unflattering 2 strand twists, too. But the shine is amazing!Separately, the products don't give me the same look. Before sealing, I grease my scalp with Aloe Vera gel. Very soothing. Maybe it will help my hair to grow... the goal.. Time will tell.
I’m currently mid back length and if i make it to waist length I’m good!
Love it! Thank you for sharing! ☺️

Blue magic doesn’t work well for me so I might give softee a go
Softee Indian Hemp and Softee Hair Food is the Bomb!
Softee bergamot and the herbal gro are amazing
I am at BSL and shooting for waist length by 50 because why not! LOL to the moon!
I want to have mid back hair length, and a healthy hair, of course 😊
I started to use hair grease again because my curly cream doesn't mix well with oils. I retained moisture for a longer time, since I workout 5 timed a week.
Hair grease is excellent 👌🏾👌🏾👌🏾
And I really don't remember why left hair grease for years, but I'm back.
My goals is on quality right now then growth but I can attest that once I switched from oils to grease in my LOC method. I just do leave in and grease my hair has been thriving!!!
I love me some hair grease!!!! I’m a Blue Magic girl. I don’t really have a hair length goal. As long as it’s healthy and thick, I’m happy.
Tailbone length, my grate grandmother and my grandmother sat on there hair but the health of my hair is very much important. Be blessed.

Healthy, full, shoulder length hair (in it's curly state).
I do not have a hair length goal. I am focusing on heathy hair. Your videos are great.
Great goal! And thank you! ☺️
I added herbs to my hair grease and it helped my extreme itchy scalp I was so amazed
Yay!! So glad it’s working for you. ☺️

Grease is a better sealant for my hair than oil. Grease keeps my hair moisturized for days so I have stopped using leave in conditioners on my low porosity hair as it gave me product residue

Yes! I love these tips. 💕My hair thrives with grease. Team Blue Magic! My hair goal length is waist length.
I have eczema and hair grease is a must for my scalp. It may be frowned upon but I can't live without it.

Marley Hill thank you for your comment 🥰🥰
Curly Chemistry thank you so much for responding ! I live in France I have never heard of trichologists, I will research and hopefully find one 🥰🥰
Thanks for all you do.🙏🏿
The detangling alone puts me off long hair.
I recently it shoulder length but my hair's a bit thin overall, so I'm going to use this method to thicken my hair and retain length
I suffered some middle-age thinning so I'm just trying to keep it on my head now.
Dax was definitely in the line up someone suggested taking liquid iron. Your iron level could be low which is why the hair is thinning or thyroid condition.
@@SimplyRL-000 My doctors run my blood all of the time, Thyroid and Iron is fine. Middle-aged stress and decrease in estrogen.
Thank you, and I use hair grease. Didn't know coconut oil clogs the scalp. My hair hates it anyway. I have to search for products without it.
Great info as always. I use hair grease but not as much. With this knowledge I guess I’m gonna use it more.
Try it and see how your hair responds. ☺️
Love, love, love your videos! Always informative! 🥰❤🥰 At this point, I just want my hair to be healthy no matter what length it is at. 😁
I hear you girl!! ☺️
This is an awesome video in two ways. The growth tutes are great and useful. Then I read a comment thread, between two women connecting, trading info, sharing love, caring for each other, praying for each other. Brave strong sisters❤
Yes! This is honestly what Curly Chemistry is about; providing great hair tips in a positive and loving environment. I’m so glad it shows and thank you for your comment! ☺️
