    Beautifully shot video in stunning scenery, fantastic. I'm sitting here in Cramlington on a cold January night, had a stroke a couple of years ago so my days of long hard hikes are pretty much over, feeling a bit glum, then I found your channel, really brought a ray of sunshine in to me. Thank you so much for doing this, I'll probably never see the Hen Hole again with my own eyes, so you don't know how much this means. Thanks again, and keep going!!

    Damian, your videos helped me make it through winter hibernation. I`m 57 with severe arthritis & can no longer do a lot of things. You have helped inspire me to get out camping this year. Your videos have brought me hours of entertainment . Thank You for sharing your video & taking us along. ATB

    I don't know whether I've said it before - if not, I should have - I _love_ your videos. There is a real element of 'f... them all, I'll do it my way' in them, which appeals hugely to me. I appreciate hugely your obvious love of fells in general, and those in Northumberland in particular, and I can't tell you how your endless enthusiasm and positivity makes getting out on a wild camp such an attractive proposition. I am an enormous admirer, and I think you are one of those people that just make the world better. Long may you continue, in whatever capacity you choose, to exert such an influence on others.

    Watching your videos has become part of my every day routine. I really enjoy them. I enjoy them so much, I'll usually get my wife to watch them in the evening, after work, via Chromecast on our living room TV.
    I've always loved camping...all kinds, fancy camping, tent camping, back country, car camping, etc., but I've never tried wild camping. Until finding your videos a week or two ago, I really did not know where to begin with wild camping, but you keep it so simple and so education at the same time.
    Keep them coming! I've been making lists of equipment I'll need to start my wild camping here in the U.S. this fall.

    Been watching your videos for a few months now. After your commentary at the 20 minute mark, I just wanted to say thank you. I always enjoy watching from start to finish. You have a very relaxed style with good editing that's easy to watch. Don't feel pressured to bring us content, however... just enjoy doing what you do, and bring us along for the ride if you feel like it. We appreciate what we get, rest assured. Thanks for thinking of us, by the way.

    • @Fell_Wanderer
      @Fell_Wanderer  10 років тому

      I think so long as I enjoy getting out and filming I'll keep on doing it, I think there is more pressure on finding new content as it can get a bit repetitive the same scenario's and style of filming, a second camera like a gopro and external mic for better audio is next on my list to add more scope to filming. Thanks for your comment, ATB, Damian

    that view at 18:58 min is incredible fell wanderer, love wildcamping in the cheviot hills, theres nowt like it, great video, loved the hen hole I've always been quite wary of venturing in there but i think i'll have to give it a try. keep up the good work mate. mick.

    • @Fell_Wanderer
      @Fell_Wanderer  10 років тому

      The Hen Hole is a nice place to explore and quite an easy scramble, its just a bit slippery in places where water is running down over the rocks but well worth the effort to get there, the view at 18.58 from Auchope Cairn on the Scottish Border is one of the best views in the Cheviot Hills IMHO, I've never seen views as good as that, the weather was good on that day, thanks for your comment, atb, Damian

    Just like to say just stumbled upon your videos, think there great, i`m from whitley bay and a keen hill walker and i go to the cheviots as much as possible. Loved the part through the hen hole was nice to see it in clear conditions, i was there back in october in very heavy snowfall and fell resulting in two broken arms ,believe It or Not certainly was a interesting walk back! but i have a love for the place. Fantastic job well done mate!!!

    • @Fell_Wanderer
      @Fell_Wanderer  9 років тому

      Stuart Meek Thanks for the comment, I think the College Valley and Hen Hole is appealing because its so remote as well as beautiful. Must have been difficult for you to get out with two broken arms, you were lucky as there are some big drops off the rocks in the Hen Hole even though I'd class it as a grade one scramble, in winter its extremely dangerous. atb, Damian.

    Damien! Going back & watching your older videos. Wanted to point out that towards the end of this one, when you’re awake after that long haul of the day before, and you are just starting to make your mash potato breakfast, behind you over your right shoulder, a snake goes by. As you expressed no comment, I’m assuming you didn’t see it. I understand that snake sightings are fairly rare in the U.K., so seeing that one was a treat. Again, about 10 minutes from the end of this video. Enjoyed!

    • @Fell_Wanderer
      @Fell_Wanderer  3 роки тому +1

      I never saw the snake, even while editing the video. Someone pointed it out so I went back through the footage and uploaded a short video. ua-cam.com/video/-r03ostZUUk/v-deo.html It was an adder and it concerns me that it could have got into my bivi bag while I slept.

      @@Fell_Wanderer, thanks for the link to your follow up video. Over here, in the States, snakes crawling into tents & sleeping bags definitely happens. So when tent camping I use a tent with a floor & a good zipper! I’m currently building a bespoke RV by using a 6’ x 10’ enclosed cargo trailer. No more sleeping with the snakes! As I’ve said before, always enjoy your work!

    I just found this old video, and it was absolutely fantastic. That walk over the Pennine Way was the boggiest walk I've ever seen. They must have used helicopters to move the stone in there for the pathway. I would have hated to be one of the workers laying all that stone. It goes on for miles. Great video. I have watched this one several times as I enjoy the scenery and your comical input . I enjoy all of your videos and I am thinking about doing something similar because you have given me some inspiration to move myself from using a 35mm still film camera to getting a digital camera and laptop. Thanks for your brilliant work and keep it up when you can , not because you feel obliged to for your audience. Hope to see more of your work soon.

      @jamessd7677 10 років тому

      I say fly but its when they dive that they can reach those speeds. Those birds were nearly extinct in Britain forty or thirty years ago but are now quite common, they've made a good comeback. Plenty to be seen down here in Sussex and on the South Downs.

      Sorry to hear about your hospital visit, its good you are ok now. I've heard accounts of dog like creatures roaming the countryside and they must be paranormal because they would be seen more often like deer who can't conceal themselves all the time. I was walking while eating and drinking on the go as I had lots of distance to cover before nightfall, took loads of energy bars and snacks to eat along the way, filming slows me down so it felt like I was getting lots of breaks, although the climb out of the Hen Hole was tough and was tired when I finally found a place to sleep, the only hot meal I had was in the morning which was nice, Thanks for watching, Atb, Damian.
