so far so good.. when we were in ohio at CNC's shop Cory the owner was happy to see they had done so good and this was last year or now two, in july 2020.. the new hoses are a different material.. time will tell..
Great video! I skipped forward and thought you were putting a Duralast on the oil pump and I don’t care what they warranty if that oil pressure line bust then that motor is going to the scrap yard. Good that it was the power steering hose. Ford really should have put in a last forever oil pump inside the motor because if those lines break it’s bad news
Hello sir, do you by chance know what the braided fuel lines on the intake side that diesel runs through are called? There's one right under that hpop line and I can't figure out what it's actually called and no auto part stores have been able to find it either. Any help is greatly appreciated!
the OEM fuel lines are not braided they are metal that can develop holes over time. I replace them with the braided lines to help with fuel flow and better resistance to damage. good luck..
up pipe not the issues or turbo.. Using the sweep 90 makes it a breeze.. been on now for 4 plus years and no issues at all.. make sure to wire loom them to protect form the vibrations of the engine.
It looks like the fitting for the line on the rear passenger side of the head is connected to the oil rail on the driver front...? I have that pass/rear connecting to the fuel filter housing to replace the old line, same for the driver front. Both are 6an ptfe braided line. I'm going to use the cncfab product also which are the aeroquip stuff. Good vid, cheers!
The factory fittings have a spring and small disc on the pump side. Did you transfer these or do your new fittings have the same? Thank you for the video.
the truck has 170K on original lines and in reading post on ford forum they could go at any time more or less. I wanted to do this while i had the turbo, intake spider and valve covers off.. just made sense to replace stuff as we plan to go full time RVing in a couple years.. better safe than sorry.
yes the pump is stock. One thing to remember is the pump works under pressure so a larger hose is only a benefit at WOT. The difference is only like 1/8" +- in dia. so the pump is capable of keeping up. (better pump even better) the main reason to change hoses was age and mileage more the mileage on them vs age.. One thing you do not want to have happen, in the middle of nowhere, is to have a old HPO hose BUST.. bad day all the way around. CNC guys now use a different hose set up but the owner told me has been using the green stripe hose on his personal truck for many year, a daily driver, with NO issues. cncfab.us/
actually, its not a dumb thing and others do it besides him. I have a F-450 and using tables, scaffolding, ladders, etc.. is a huge pain. It makes it a lot easier to remove the tires and get the vehicle closer to the ground.
It's the same under hood setup as his, he has a bunch of stuff removed to see things better and has a few mods in regards to the oil lines along with other easy fuel mods. Look at your motor. You have plugs right where he has adaptors in those plugs for better oil flow between such heads, except he removed the connecting line. Go to Riff Raff Diesel for a lower priced kit and many other easy engine mods as opposed to his fancy oil lines if you wish. And as a bonus you will get mod instructions, in which he does not share with you at all. Also do not do anything with the CCV as he is describing, especially when he has an incredibly poor cold air intake filter set up as seen. His rusty rotors really called him out as a novice on the 7.3.
the reasoning from reading on fordtruck.com forum was to allow the head pressure in the oil galleries to be equal. Now i understand if you change HPOP hoses and you remove the check valves in the pump then the crossover hose is not needed. I still like the CNC cncfab.us/shop/cnc-fabrication-7-3l-sd-replacement-hpop-lines/ for good quality lines and great service.
Did you get this idea from Burbank Militia? I want to do this Mod to my truck. Can you list the parts you used n where you hot them. Thanks, great video.
Not sure what Burbank Milita is most from reading on fordtruck.com in the 7.3L forums. best place to get hoses cncfab.us/shop/cnc-fabrication-7-3l-sd-replacement-hpop-lines/ if you take check valves out of pump head when replacing then crossover not needed.. good luck and thanks
@@rustysummers3217 ... not sure if wrong or right.. all i know is this has been used over the past 2 plus year and 30K miles with no issues.. I might have a leak in one fitting on the passenger head as i get a oil drip and see oil in valley.. but with the oil pressure unit on the pump loose,, the tin nut issue.. it put a bunch of oil in there..
The condition of that truck is unreal. Mine is a 2000 and the midwest salt has absolutely destroyed it. That thing looks like its off the dealer lot still.....
I ordered those same lines this morning hope they are treating you well!

Fuel line in back of the heads was there room to remove and install fittings with out removal of up pipes ?

you will like the CNC fab guys stuff and they are a class act.. thanks

Nice video! What made you wanna change the lines?

Do you have a stock hpop? If so what are your thoughts on that pump not being able to keep up pumpimg through those bigger lines?

Ive seen people do dumb things but the truck on the ground tops it all lmao use a table or something 👏

What year is your truck? Mine is a 1999 and it looks different than yours under the hood.
2003

What is the reasoning for the cross flow between High pressure oil galleries?
the reasoning from reading on fordtruck.com forum was to allow the head pressure in the oil galleries to be equal.
