    Hello Grim.
    Another fine video. As I've said before, I left off playing B-Tech before Battle Armor was in much use by the players at my old haunt. When I returned, there was a plethora of suits available and I've yet to use much to my advancement.
    Although I favor 'humanoid' designs, I must admit that the Fenrir II is a pretty good design overall. The modular turret is it's best feature to me.
    Should I get back into playing B-Tech more often, I will probably add this design to my forces.

    Yet another great entry. I would like you to look at the unique Battle Armor of the Republic of the Sphere. They have artillery BAs and creepy looking ones with wheels for back legs.

      I'll definitely make a video on those. But there's a lot of other battle armors to cover first.

    I don't consider quads "battle armor". If it isn't worn like suit its a vehicle.

    I mean for a wolf they both look more great ape like which isn't bad but really what is with the hands and ape like arms for again a wolf? Although being a fan of LAMs I have always felt a kinship with those who are fans of quad mechs. Which I do have a haabit of seeing how many PPCs I can fit on a mech I wonder how many a quad mech can carry?

    maybe the way Soldier mount this armor is just Like Crying Wolf, The enemy from Metal Gear Solid 4. But yeah I'm wondering if the user comfortable wearing like this in very heavy Armor.

    The fenrir and the sloth's cockpits must be so uncomfortable and weird. Does the person lie down on their stomach?

    Yeah, Fenrir looks awesome, but when it comes to Quad BA, speed is their chief advantage, but unless they can hit 5 hexes, they're kinda trash. As such straight out the box only the Rottweiler is particularly good, though with some upgrades you could make some heavy quads fast enough as well, such as the Shen Long.

    Why call these battle armor? If the pilots are actually getting into a cockpit why aren't these called micromechs?

    • @GrimDarkNarrator
      @GrimDarkNarrator  2 роки тому +1

      I think those are already called protomechs, lol.

      Because they use the same tech base/ rules as bipedal armors. Protomechs have their own tech base and rules.

    Have to ask could you do some lore vids on the Deep Periphery? And the Nations in there like the Hanseatic League and so on.

    • @GrimDarkNarrator
      @GrimDarkNarrator  2 роки тому

      I kinda covered all the periphery nations with significant lore. There are a few left but I'll have to bunch them into compilation videos at some point. I can't say when though.

      @@GrimDarkNarrator Ok their was one called the Hanseatic League in the deep pheriphary and I couldn't find much info on that aside from a wiki entry so I was wondering about that considering it's farther from the Turian Concordat but also a major trading hub in the outer pheriphary so I was curious.

    You know. As much as this machine is designed to be more of a hit and run Assault unit. I am under the impression that the person who designed this really just wanted a really big robot K-9 to guard his/her house. Maybe they couldn't figure out how to beef up the armor but really having a few of them walking around on guard duty seemingly more intimidating than a few standard boring mechs.
    Many would have to rethink their plans. Before assaulting a location with a few of them guarding. Though I am giving Battletech tactical ability too much credit and most likely end up just seeing a Lance of mechs just Alpha Strike the whole area and blow up everything. Not giving two shits about the objective. Then, just leaving to get paid.

    12:21 Isn't it LRM 5 and SRM 4? Or does battle armor get a different set of SRM and LRM launchers?
    Also, how do you sit in those things?

    • @pouncerlion4022
      @pouncerlion4022 2 роки тому +1

      Battle armor sets up by each tube's weight in the build. Therefore they can have unusual tube numbers in their launchers.
      The pilot is more or less laying on their stomach, probably with the upper body slightly higher then the lower body at an angle to ease stress on the head and neck. Like the assault suits the quad are more piloted than worn (hand and foot controls and the like).

    The Fenrir is simply an inferior predecessor to its advanced 2.0 sequel model.
    The base design for both comes across as more stout than the Sloth, both in build and in armament.
    This quadruped awkwardness, again. One supposes that specific orientation choice forces these to be more like protomechs and less like suits.
    Maybe somebody/bodies at FASA were insistent upon a Battletech version, or two, of Star Wars' AT-AT.
    Thank you, GDN.
