Hi Tracy, sorry I accidentally got disconnected from my other text, but wanted to say the strawberries look great for water bath canning. I do that too when I come to a good sale. They really look sooo good. Oh you hit the farmers market.Exciting to can more. They are beautiful you exact words. I admire your energy it’s getting older that hinders us to be motivated. See you next time stay well xxoo
Hello ,my friend! Yes we did and we got cucumbers so I could start canning my mom's 7 day pickles... Using Great Grandma's crocks.. So cool and I am so excited
Thanks for the tutorial! Our local berries, which are absolutely delicious, are now $42 a flat. Crazy. I made some into pie filling, will freeze some, and I'm trying to decide whether or not to can some. I wish there was a raw pack method for strawberries in their own juice or pear juice. 🙄
Hello I am new to canning but love it. I am also not a jam person and was excited to finally find your video , Thank you. I did not get the results you did and hoping for some advice. First, I had alot of juice from the overnight in the fridge and they seemed to melt/settle/shrink to half a bowl once I added the sugar. I know it creates juices once you add sugar but it seemed excessive. I also had a hard time keeping the mixture hot without cooking them down even more even though I was trying to be careful with the temp. I did get alot of tasty juice though! I just don't have alot of strawberries in each jar and it did not bubble like yours coming out the bath. I did my best to process like yours but I did not get the same result. I am worried about it having been hot enough as it also seems to slow to seal. I'm sure these problems are because I'm new to this but wonder what I could do better and if I should reprocess?
First and Far most thank you for the amazing comment. I find that the juice level changes every year so that is normal. When you were water bath canning the berries was your water at a rolling boil the whole time? You are doing great I remember when I second guessed everything I did.. Trust your gut. If they sealed you are fine. If they become unsealed check them, this is when I would put them in freezer. If you process them again you will just have very mushy berries ( personal opinion). Keep up the great work I am positive you are doing great :) Tracy
They look nice, but sorry were your jars too full? Your towel looks like they were leaking on there, when you removed them from the canner and noticed red water on the tops? I liked your pineapple vid.
These look great! I have always froze my strawberries. I never thought to can them! Is the texture the same as frozen? Also do the strawberries taste like they are cooked? As you can tell I am very interested in this method of preserving strawberries! Thanks in advance!
Good Evening, They are soft as they would be when you froze them. The strawberries taste just like I put them in our fridge over night in sugar. I hope that helps.. any other questions let me know
Hello Wendy, No they don't go soggy. To use them I can now make Pies, jam, topping for cheese cake, over ice cream.. make strawberry ice cream strawberry shakes pound cake, muffins or just in a bowl over granola
I am processing strawberry jars as I watch this video. Thank You. Great way to preserve strawberries. Again Thank You.
No Problem Thank You For Watching

Can you raw pack them. Then water bath? Maybe add a little water or not?
Wondering do you bring the water in the canner to a boil and then add the jars?

Yes I had some leakage but everything sealed and good to go

How many cups of strawberries to sugar
it is you preference, it all depends what you are using it for.

Can you use stevia instead of sugar?
Cannot see why you would not be able to, just might wanna lessen it alittle. You can always add more later
Can the strawberries be canned without the sugar?
No but you can modify how much you put in. I only use a cup my mom use to use up to 4 cups per batch..
@@TomorrowadayFarms Thank you! :)
I canned some last year but they lost their color. Does yours do that and does it affect the taste?
Good Evening Karen, when you put them in the fridge over night with the sugar I found it locks in the colour.
Do you have to add sugar? Im new😀
Yes, sugar is needed to make a simple syrup, you can use stevia or other forms of sugar
So don't the strawberries get soggy? What do you use them for?
Hello Wendy, No they don't go soggy. To use them I can now make Pies, jam, topping for cheese cake, over ice cream.. make strawberry ice cream strawberry shakes pound cake, muffins or just in a bowl over granola
Maybe I'll try them then and see. Thanks.
You don’t add any citric acid to the jar?
