this was my dad’s van! used to see it in our old family photo albums when i was a kid, and randomly came across this video and it jogged my memory again. called him up and he told me the whole story behind this build. i wish i could’ve seen it in person, but he sold it before i was born.
I'm an old-timer, been following this van a long time, good to see she still lives.
I know who the original owners of that van from Monroe Michigan Guy name is Mark Graham
One of my favorites, remember this van from when I was a kid. It's amazing how well it has held up.
What a machine & all the 'ground effects' made of metal & molded in is very classy!

My brother had a book on custom vans back in the 70's. I used stare at those pictures in that book all day long. Then I'd watch ChiPS and BJ and The Bear.

Great to see its still alive and kicking and looking stunning! I grew up around the custom van scene in the late 70s and I think vans offer the greatest scope for customizing.
When I was a kid in the early 80's I was in love with custom vans. I used to check out a book from the library book mobile full of custom vans. I wish I could remember the name of that book. I'd love to find a copy. Wasn't very big and was the same publisher of a custom big rig book, also a favorite. I had notebooks of van drawings. Those were the days. Fantastic van and channel.
Good point about showing. I went to a bunch of shows this year and it forced me to work on projects instead of putting things off.
Also, i'm in love with the wide body look. Amazing!

He's not kidding about adjusting the timing while driving. You keep the bolt loose on the distributor you can turn it while the engine is running.
Even if the paint is a little rough, it's an original survivor. Just preserve it.

Hi what van club did u say ? l was in van club back in the 80s 90's call New Jersey vansmen l how live in Florida l really miss the good old days. l still have photos books of all the truck-in from Massachusetts to Maryland, beautiful van u have take good care of it thanks for the video

That's Derek Riggs' artwork for Maiden's World Slavery Tour 84' and 85' supporting the Powerslave record. That's a great van my man!
I hadn't seen this particular van before, but it's clearly from the era were craftsmanship and creativity came together. Very interesting. Similarly, back then, my neighbor was somehow involved in the chopped and sectioned Ford van of Arlen Ness's (the MC builder). The Ford sat two houses down from me on and off in its early black primer.

I love the metal work in the wheel wells how it comes to a point on either side master crafted for sure ( the fave van in my country is called Super Tramp, After the band ! It’s got insane v 8 in it plus excellent air brush work with the band themed art
That still looks good after all those years, Haven't seen Randy for years, last I heard he was working a petrochemicals job in China.. and still dreaming of building the ultimate van....

The back doors are not welded that's the side of another Dodge van welded in there.

Ah I love 70s custom cars/vans and bikes I was a young kid in the 70s beats modern day styles .the paint jobs wheels body modification etc , must of been a lot of creative minds at work or better quality pot in the day , America seemed to have much more than the UK going on in the day these vehicle's still look cool and fit in today just shows if you get it right first time it's right all the time ,kev

This van was designed ( original drawing) by Stacey Hall, from Monroe Michigan. Done at the request by Mark Gram. And still designing, to this day.
