She made a DIY on this without the intention of it actually being used to ride horses, like it or not; it's now in fashion, just like those patched elbow shirts. Which of course,"patched leggings" does sound kind of boring but would be most preferred. She's obviously wearing these out to lunch or shopping, not to go riding in.
I see fake paddock boots everywhere nowadays...I guess the equestrian style is just in atm.

what a fun faux version of Jodhpur pants... i still have the old style of the super flared hips in my mind so these conflicted with that image... but in a good way.

I think with some reinforced stitching and the proper fake suede material, these could work in the equestrian world.
I like the idea I made a pair and I work with horses every body complimented me and asked if I could make them a pair and I went riding in them they are perfect worked like a dream so back off haters!!!!!!!

I wish I was an equestrian.Its my fricking dream and it probably will never come true,so please at least be happy that you have the opportunity to be able to ride horses ALL THE TIME.I go to competitions that I’m not even competing in just so I can watch the kids get things I can’t have,but that doesn’t mean I can’t at least try to be like them.People came here maybe because of the same reason I’m here.Just trying to find Riding pants that aren’t over $30.Please don’t go “fu**ing posers,” because you have a life a bunch of people wish they had.
Ikr, some of us can't afford "Real" riding pants. And I hate how people are complaining about this.

I thought these were real ones :( Realy riders can't ride in these because the seam on the leg will rub against out legs

The point of breeches is that there is no seem on the inside of the leg so that it doesn’t rub on your leg. These have seems so they wouldn’t be good for riding in!

I made a pare and went riding but it hurt my leg because they aren't as thik as real riding pants

*Tip*: I ride horses a lot and although these look really cute and everything I'm afraid they wouldn't exactly stop the uncomfortable chafing. What I did was use some thicker fabric. I know it's probably more expensive but if your looking to make jodhpurs that you can ride in this is what you're gonna need.
*Thick fabric* (don't spend too much money though. Just take a little)
*An old pair of jeans* Not too skinny though.
Yep that's it. Then just follow the steps on the tutorial but instead of just doing the little knee patches make it go all the way round from the buttock area down to the bottom of the calf muscles making a nice curve. :)

what fabric for the knee patch? I ride in leggings right now (have breeches just to thick for summer) and this would give extra support
Lol something like a leathery texture. Remember all it is for is to help grip the saddle. Anything like that.

I hate this style. We (REAL) equestrians get made fun of for being riders, then the very people who made fun of us wear badly made copies of our clothes.
We get funny looks for wearing our breeches, polo shirts, and boots out in public, but when its a badly made copy its 'socially acceptable'
True, but if someone made a DIY about making breeches, I don't think they are the ones making fun of us
I think they wanted to make a style out of it, but true! I do get weird looks when I'm not at the stable while wearing my horseriding clothes, while people get interested when someone wears their football uniform.
There is no such thing as ‘real equestrians’. We’re all equestrians and there’s nothing that can change that. You need to learn how to respect people. This is honestly disappointing

I love this's but I just thought I would tell you that your patches are a little to high and long. I rode horses so I own lot hod commercially made pairs. Other then that I love this and I'm gunna make some

I think people have a right to wear these pants even if they don't ride horses! I ride and it wouldn't bother me if someone who didn't wore these :)

Okay so let me get this straight -
First, people were walking around telling us equestrians that horseback riding is stupid, easy, not a sport, and that anyone could do it....etc it's "sooo easy"....and then they turn around and wear equestrian-inspired clothes and boots as a new "fashion" and suddenly everyone who wears this stuff is considered a "sexy equestrian" when really they couldn't even sit on a horse's back without falling off.

why so cynical people can wear what they want haha. and I have never heard of anyone telling a horse rider that it's easy, and some of my closest friends have been riding most of their lives and have never had anything like that said to them..maybe it's you giving people the wrong idea
