It's water-based acrylic paint!
@Shmirette It's acrylic paint and it will fade during the first wash, after that it stays pretty much, fades very slightly.!
@nissamilano Thanks for noticing, that's exactly the look that I wanted. Don't like it? don't do it!
@mariannaki97
Hi Marianna, the song is FORTUNATE SON from CCR (creedence clearwater revival)
:)
great idea, I didn't think of that :) did the shirt turned out good?
@chickstaahxoxo Maybe the paint didn't have time to dry long enough??
how did the second one turn out?
@Ntclarinet2 Thanks!!
lol so how did it go?
YESSSSSS :)
what's even radder than saying you got your shirt from urban outfitters? saying you made it yourself! way to get the creative juices flowing #4thjuly2013 haha
I just made two of these, only with a different flag design! They turned out awesome, a little bit too bright for my taste, by nothing some bleach can't handle, right? :D
I am usually not a fan of american flag printed tanks but you seem to make everything look great!
I tried to scrape some of the blue off with a knife after running it through the bleach the second time, and that worked, sort of. Then I decided to have a second go with the paint. I didn't wait long enough for it to dry this time - huge mistake. Now the shirt is pink, and I can't get it to stop being pink.
I'll be trying again tomorrow with a new shirt. At least I did it with a really cheap shirt, so nothing too expensive lost.
Alright, so I just tried this, and I botched the fuck out of it. I'll try to put what I think I did wrong in my comment.
First of all, I made the mistake of using two brands of paint. The blue was an old tube that I've had for a while, good stuff. The red was from Walmart. The stuff from Walmart was the stuff that gave me the better bleached-out effect - the other stuff stuck far too well and left me with something more like fabric paint, even after several runs through the bleach.
(continued)
Made this last night. Great design. My only suggestion is let it dry more than 30 minutes before bleaching because it turned the white a little pink. But it kind of adds to the distressed look. :) got lots of compliments on it today!
Really well. :) I should really upload some pictures at some point. I'll try to remember to come back and link you when I do.
I ended up doing a Captain America shield design on a V-neck T-shirt, in the end. Looks really nice. Thanks for the tutorial!
This is not the proper way to display our flag though. The stars should always be at the top. This video indicates distress because your flag is upside down. Otherwise a great idea.
This is so awesome! I always wanted to know how to do my own American flag tee! and this is so simple and has the rustic look. I wil use the star stickers though.
can I ask....why do we have to burn the shirt? i mean...maybe it will be better looking if you don't burn the shirt.. =)
p/s: i'm just askin' don't hate me
I just did this to a pair of shorts last week minus the bleaching which I now wish I did check it out on my instagram @queen_0hearts
Will the acrylic paint wash off?
ya i dont think the burning mad it look as cool as ir was bofore but other than that, 2 thumbs up!:D
I love all your projects!! And what's the name of the song you used in this video? I liked it lol
i like it a lot, the only thing i wouldn't do is burn it, i don't even like that on the original
Every body who asked why did she burn it because it clearly says balmain inspired duh look it up
love it! but i dont like the holes you made by burning :\ well, everyone has a different taste ^^
do u use like any type of water color or is there some kind of something type of brand to use?
I recommend star stickers. I did it and loved it but the card board stars where a mess
I watch your videos mainly for the music now. But I still like the stuff you make. hahha
Yes it came out great, thanks for the idea :) can't wait to wear it tomorrow!!
your tutorial videos are probably the best of youtube, in my opinion!! Amazing!
I think I'll make a Union Flag version, in honour of the jubilee and all :D
Sorry but that looks like shit!, looks like a 5 year old school project lol
would the acrylic paint fade away even if i just do a regular wash cycle
...very cool....cigarettes would work very nicely too for the burn out!
WOW, your skills are amazing! love the faded look Thanks
just subed!
What are the exact colours and brands that you used for the video?
U make this look easy mine came out looking like shit lol oh well
Can anyone tell the name of the song which is in the video?
Can you make a union jack tank-top or shorts video?please?
Wayyy too much bleach and the burning is kind of ugly
