Special Move Finishers from the hidden unlockable characters in Virtual Pro Wrestling 64, released in 1997 exclusively in Japan for the Nintendo 64. Despite WCW vs nWo World Tour and VPW64 being almost identical games, THQ's fear of repercussions at having recognisable non-licenced characters in the Western release meant none of these hidden wrestlers found their way into World Tour, therefore making their respective rosters vastly different to eachother in choice and size. 0:00 Intro 0:11 Ali Takedown (Antonio Inoki) 0:37 Big Swing (Giant Baba) 1:03 MMA Armbar (Rickson Gracie) 1:31 Piledriver (Rikidozan) 2:00 Punch Combination (Terry Funk) 2:23 Fisherman's Suplex (Tiger Mask) 2:45 Superkick (Manami Toyota) 3:11 Sit-out Powerbomb (Dos Caras) 3:35 Screwdriver (Bruiser Brody) 4:03 Chicken Wing Suplex (Dory Funk Jr) 4:27 Northern Lights (Mil Mascaras) 4:51 Screwdriver (Dynamite Kid) 5:14 Piledriver (Andre the Giant) 5:34 Canadian Back breaker (Destroyer) 6:00 Powerbomb Pin (Kuniaki Kobayashi) 6:22 Big Swing (Seiji Sakaguchi)
Mentioned elsewhere, but it is important to note that all of the VPW64 roster, save for Hase and the Road Warriors, have their movesets and associated body models still hidden away in World Tour, in varying states of completion. Andre is only missing one move, and thus his moveset can easily be fixed via ROM hacking, but others are far more incomplete. Some even use moves that the regular World Tour roster have no access to (Akiyama's Exploder for example).
It's a massive shame they couldn't rework the removed characters from VPW64 into more original guys for World Tour, spread the moves around for each one to not necessarily resemble anyone specific. Especially when the work had already been done.
love hidden finishers in wrestling games. Sting's scorpion death drop can be done in WCW vs nwo world tour ( also in WCW mayhem) Hogans big boot and leg drop in wcw nwo revenge, as he was given Ric Flairs ( can be used as the finger poke of doom as sometimes it causes a TKO)
Isn't the Funk's finisher supposed to be the spnning toe hold? Also isn't Dynamite's finisher the flying headbutt as well? I'm not sure if some of these are accurate, these are just both standing specials

Rikidozan's footage being in black and white is a nice touch. 😊
That's the Black & White classic arena venue. Such a good idea on AKI's part.
I will never get tired of this game or these animations. Great video.
