What exactly does a boom operator do, does he/ she only refuel other air crafts or? And how much pay do you receive yearly.
Thank you for your question Fantom Plays. A Boom Operator exercises the central role/mission of the tanker, providing aerial refueling of USAF, USN, and NATO aircraft. In addition, they supervise the loading and securing of cargo, troops, and passengers.
As to pay, you can search for military pay charts. In addition, there are stipends for flight pay, TDY; and, hazard pay if applicable.
