You should try markers just for fun! I've went from oil pastels to water solubles and now lately I've been addicted to markers and gouache , experiment with everything, you never know what will happen
Everything you said about the colourless blender!! This is exactly how I use it but because no one else has ever said it, i thought it was just a issue I had with all the lifting
Lol I have markers but I feel nervous when using the yellow maybe my terrible old fineliner which is just a pen not a fine liner made me nervous to use yellow bc of smudging and ever since it was like eh I'm never gonna use yellow again.
I'M SORRY I'M SO LATE TO SEEING THIS! I didn't get the notification and you didn't show up in my subscription feed.... :'( You did such a wonderful job! And thank you for your kind words, you got me tearing up just from the beginning omg
Hey Alice! I was wondering if you could do a tutorial or process video on how you watercolor faces. Specifically where shadows and highlights go, how to make them look realistic ( not photo-realistic ) and defined without any linework with pens. Something similar to this video but with watercolor. I don’t need the color mixing aspect, just the facial anatomy, etc. Thanks, and stay safe and healthy. 😘
i've been following carrah for about 3 years!! she needs more recognition OMG!! Edit: thanks so much for the heart!! I love your videos Alice and you’re amazing. ILY!! ❤️❤️❤️
i have actually just started using these markers myself im so glad i watched this as it gave it gave me more of an idea of how to layer up the colours which is somthing i havent done before
Wow! What an amazing artist you are! I have never watched anyone paint a whole picture like that before with so much detail! I'd love to be able to draw like that. But alas, I am not gifted in that way. I really love watching your skill and I also really enjoyed how you talked through the whole process. 💕☀️💮🏵️
Omg thankyou! Someone else mentioned this but combined with pop art and it's such an amazing compliment! I'm wondering if it's the longer/narrower nose and the lips being not as wide?
I have always enjoyed your marker videos, I feel you know your stuff and give us encouragement to work out our projects too! You also give so many great tips for working no matter the medium you use! I have always used multiple layers with markers, I thought that was the main reason for using them to begin with! Well that and fast drying! Your voice-over technique is superior to so many people making videos and we appreciate so very much! Oh I like blues or yellow/greens for darker areas when shading skin tones. This is a lovely picture and this video was a true pleasure to watch, Your a GEM Alice, Thanks and Please take care and be safe!
Wow! You have explained so much and so simply! Awesome!! I love your work and look forward to trying markers for the first time. Thank you so much! I'm a pencil sketch artist, myself.
Yep you rocked them totally..She’s really gorgeous ..This is why I just can’t come to terms with them lol..tried all ways different methods..No luck .But I can get this with colouring pencils..now That’s my medium ..just wish I could master my watercolours again grr keep trying ..Getting there slowly huray 😀
Thank you so so much for this video. I was so lost lately, stuck with my procreate drawing, trying so hard but couldn't do it any better. But just now I watched your vid and realised: you know what? I can do it traditionaly and will be much more pleasing for now. You gave me back my willing to draw again! Thank you!
I was missing your videos so much! The piece is lovely, and I am absolutely inlove with how your style has evolved until now 💕 the colors and those eyelashes!
How do you avoid the streaks created by markers when you put down the ink? I notice that no matter how much you try to avoid it a darker streak occurs where ever one stroke overlaps another stroke. The streak may be a hair thin but it is still visible.
I saw your style in the tumbnail and said “wow it kinda reminds me of this one youtuber I used to watch, I wish I remembered the name” and then you mentioned her 😊
This is really helpful! I'm a watercolour artist but I do want to get back into markers so this was really encouraging and inspiring 😊 thank you Alice ❤️
Really, really lovely. Just so well done. The I see quality videos like this the more I realize that I need to be more patient when I'm coloring with alcohol markers.
Great video! I've never tried markers like these, but this definitely got me inspired! 😍 I've been looking for ways to get out of my comfort zone recently so this was just perfect timing. Thank you! 💕
I wish so bad that u uploaded this videos yesterday . It would have helped so much more .. I literally wrecked my marker piece cause I messed up the skin .. I couldn't get it to look natural but thank you so much !! Will definitely help in the future !! PS :I love you ❤️
does xl mix media paper work with alcohol markers? or what paper do you recommend for those? as I just bought acrylic markers and was given alcohol markers.
Love it! I have a few Spectrum Noir markers (Jazza's special selection from the box he did) and I kinda hate them. They were all really dry and squeaky. So Idk if Im just unlucky with un-juicy markers, or if you were lucky with juicy markers. 😂
Harley Lynn i felt the exact same about my markers from Jazza’s box, I tried my hardest to work with them but they just aren’t juicy enough! I’ve tried several other brands but honestly I just keep going back to my ohuhu markers.
I had like .. 3 or 4 maybe of the brush markers that weren't super juicy? The rest were all hella juicy and Carrahs set had no problems at all! Sorry yours were dry that's such a bummer 😭
ahh!! it's carrah's set!! i've been really tempted to get it myself, but i don't do a lot of traditional recently.. mm.. but spectrum noirs are really nice....
I meant to mention that and I forgot omg! I did find them a bit hard in the hand and they felt a bit large for my hands especially. The hexagonal shape I think isn’t as ergonomic :(
I love this peice so much!! 💖 And you say you're not a professional marker artist.. Pshh... You're very much a professional at all art mediums sweetie! 💖
This was helpful with blending with markers. I was just laying down flat washes for a more cartoon look but I love the challenge of blending too. Thank you for the upload!
Do I own markers? No.
Do I plan to own markers? Also no.
Did I still watch this entire video and enjoy every second? Absolutely.
You should try markers just for fun! I've went from oil pastels to water solubles and now lately I've been addicted to markers and gouache , experiment with everything, you never know what will happen
@@deeman524 same:)
I love that this video also has advice that can be used across different media, especially pertaining to how she does skin :)
Everything you said about the colourless blender!! This is exactly how I use it but because no one else has ever said it, i thought it was just a issue I had with all the lifting
Yay! I'm planning on getting some Ohuhu markers and start learning the ins and outside of marker art, so I'm so glad you posted this! Love you❤🥰
Lily Slater ohuhu are great I just put up a review video! Also giveaway!
@@STICKYArt subbing
I got them, they're awesome, but make swatches they don't always match the tip.....

Literally was struggling last night with markers and losing my mind. LOL Should have waited a day.
I’m so glad you posted this because I recently ordered some alcohol markers and I’m still confused on how to use them
Wooooooooow. I was actually looking for a non cartoon artist who used markers for a while and then one day... You're in my feed!!!
I'M SORRY I'M SO LATE TO SEEING THIS! I didn't get the notification and you didn't show up in my subscription feed.... :'(

This was the most helpful alcohol marker tutorial ever and you are really talented as an artist. Thank you.
This is amazing. I didn't think markers could produce work so detailed.
I saw your style in the tumbnail and said “wow it kinda reminds me of this one youtuber I used to watch, I wish I remembered the name” and then you mentioned her 😊
Really great work; she looked fabulous! I'm just beginning to use alcohol markers, so your tips were very much appreciated.

Hi Alice, I hope you are doing well & staying healthy! I absolutely love your marker drawings. Can’t wait to see what you post next🌻💚

Love her hair 💜 really nice shading 🙂
Thank you so much now i know how to use them..On friday my Artisty (Alkohol) markers are coming!💕💕💕💕
Are they like normal markers. If I may ask
Nice video by the way. Turned out great x

What kind of paper do u need any recommendations

Great video!!❤️❤️ wish I could draw like you
WOW! That is so awesome!
So can you not add light over dark?
I use hammer mill card stock for my marker paper... it’s real cheap and works for me. Just a little tip for artists on a tight budget
This is finna be so fun omg

I love this peice so much!! 💖 And you say you're not a professional marker artist.. Pshh... You're very much a professional at all art mediums sweetie! 💖
Just subbed off of this video alone, thank you!
I currently have VERY cheap alcohol markers as a 13 year old marker user and they are SO DIFFICULT to use but the tutorial really helped!
You did a great job!
Pretty sure the colorless blender "ink" is just isopropyl alcohol.
Still have no clue how to use alcohol markers. I cannot figure out how to do seamless blending they way I can with other media. Any suggestions?
I claim all the positive energies of this reading ❤
Thanks so much for this.
Amazing!! TY!
i want to do this but i suck at art and have no alcohol markers
This was helpful with blending with markers. I was just laying down flat washes for a more cartoon look but I love the challenge of blending too. Thank you for the upload!
Beautiful!
Just so you know the illustrator spectrum noir marker brush tip will get more bendy the more you use it
Yes I noticed that! I meant to mention it but actually forgot lmao
my problem is when i do skincolor i dont hwve light colours so it ends up looking like trump orange.., 😬
ありがとうございます😆💕✨nice video very thanks 👍🎵✌😙
