If you're familiar with Buffalo Exchange, this is the online equivalent. They accept fast fashion in good condition all the way up to Coach and , Don't expect to recoup substantial money in exchange for your old clothes! I've sent in large boxes of clothing and have received $35 back. TBH not everything I own is expensive and luxurious...especially the clothing that I wear - sometimes $1.40 for an $80 pair of jeans is better than $0 - great if you don't want to put in the labor or time.

You know I shop here ALL THE TIME! This is where I send designer pieces - smaller RTW, designer shoes, and clothing brands that are sold at places like Saks, Nordstrom, and Revolve. All consignment but things can move quickly.

HOWEVER - this is one of my last resorts bc after 10 years of running, updating listings and answering a constant barrage of questions .... I HAVE NO PATIENCE! i'd hold off on selling the Chanel and Goyard. while i am all about decluttering things you don't need or use, i also believe in decluttering mindfully, and the fact that you're waffling over selling or not selling them seems to tell me that you need to hold off on it just a little longer (and the fact that you love and still actively use the Chanel points to it being a keeper, really). don't declutter for the sake of decluttering or even for achieving a "perfect" number. if your shelf actually stresses you out or causes you distress, then i could totally understand selling things on, but if it's just because you feel like you have no need for so many, i think it's okay to hold onto some things a little longer until you actually feel the need to let go or actually have to make space for other things.

I definitely agree with this advice! I've always said the right number is always going to be an amount that you can reasonably afford, and use consistently.
I want to declutter, but I have to look realistically at my collection, and there isn't really much of a market for the pieces that I have (weird, vintage, eclectic etc) so if I'm serious about clearing out- I have to go for the jugular!!!
I would keep the Chanel tote. It is gorgeous.

I gave away 13 handbags this past summer. Last week my friend came over we cleaned out one closet she left with 3 garbage bags full of clothes and two full of shoes. My stuff will be shipped to Jamaica and Barbados..

I definitely agree with you about the not wanting wear and have what everyone else is wearing. I’m the same way. But if you the goyard then keep it, wait until you no longer like and sick and tired of seeing it. I am not a big lover of Chanel, but that Chanel tote is unique. I have never seen it before and although the logo is big it blends in quite nicely. It looks comfortable, easy to style and essential in your wardrobe. Plus you still like it so you will definitely miss it. The brown, orange, white and black kimono crop top is gorgeous. Im sorry you had a hard time styling it but I understand if I have not worn it 5 years I would get rid of it as well. It is always good to declutter, but it can be stressful.

It just arrived at TRR and hopefully it finds it's way to a great new life ! And thanks so much for understanding about wanting to be more unique. I am */not pleased at being too similar to those around me and the Goyard gives me that...even though I really love it.
your hair is jaw droppingly beautiful! As for a 24 bag collection, as someone with 48 bags, I say keep them all if you love them. With that number each bag is getting at least 2 weeks of wear each year which seems reasonable.

I have a Nano Pallas that I purchased in 2018. I am on the edge of being done with high/low luxury across the board. It’s not easy choosing what to keep or give away. I’m going through it right now. I enjoyed the video. 🙂

I’d hang onto the Goyard and the Chanel. Those are so hard to get back at decent prices if you ever change your mind in the future. That Chanel tote is gorgeous. I love your Louis Vuitton St. Cloud in GM size! I had a PM size and ended up gifting it to someone because it was too small. I’d love to own a GM one day! Good for you for doing the purge … I do this periodically myself.

Honestly I've moved away from buying shoes (especially designer) in the past few years. There really hasn't been much movement on that front! But I have discovered and finally gotten the mirrored leather Jimmy Choo platforms that I've been obsessed with lately!
You need to remind us of the bags you do love that you are keeping. You love tote bags and if you sell the 4 bags you would like to, you could get a really great large bag that you would love. I would do that in a minute. If I wonder if I really love a bag I have, it goes immediately and I never look back!!!!
Keep the Goyard. Dump the Chanel. I’m totally over the CC too😂

I would sell anything that isn’t being used or bringing you joy. From my experience, going from nearly 200 bags (they had their own room) to now owning 45ish, it feels refreshing. My goal is to get to 15 bags. Chanel is just blah to me now, crazy because 5 yrs ago I couldn’t get enough. How many bags does one really need?

Loved this episode. and not only because we are having a Cousins Moment -- my 24 year old assistant has "assigned" Marie Kondo for me to read so I can declutter my tiny NYC studio. Oh, and my totally fashion ignorant opinion -- keep the Chanel, lose the Goyard; even I recognize that I see too many of them up here. Oh, and you know how I feel about spending $$$ on Chanel slides. Both are still safe and sound on my shelf! but TBH I don't participate in the trend cycles. I don't need them to come back in style and I haven't liked the styles while they were on trend for most of the life of my luxury consumption! I don''t need it to come back in style , but I think that perhaps I don't need both
