Raw frame a thing of beauty and the bling of the new rainbow seat post is really on point. Thanks for sharing this video. My Brompton S6L Has an upgraded front hub and rim and a Brooks saddle, C17. Most of my bikes have Brooks on them. You are a bad influence by the way, I am off to pick up a 1965 Moulton at the weekend.
I have a ‘65 Moulton and love it! At the time I acquired it I was living in hilly Seattle and to help its hill climbing ability I installed a schlumpf mountain drive crankset on it. You’ll have fun with the f- frame, just do your homework on what to look for (frame cracks).
The seatpost is one of the parts that you can kind of cheap out on, since it's just a single piece of titanium without any mechanical parts. I got a cheap one for a 100 bucks and it works perfectly. I think the next part to replace is the rear rack, the brompton one is so big and bulky, and suprisingly also incredibly weak. The H&H racks are all really good, they have survived like 10 flights so far!
pricey..but very 'notable'..upgrades Paul! i was Hoping you'd get into the Description..of those Fabulous looking Handle Bars! please do a Info video on those please!! Considering a Brompton....in th future! cheers from Canada...
The seat post is cool and maybe 🤔 I think the mod you don't mention may be even better: the SPD pedals. Yes you lose the folding left one but it's only a couple of inches wider and improves the pedalling immensely. Also you can wear your proper cycling shoes and for the price of a pair of Shimano M520 it's a great upgrade. Five minutes to switch back if you need to. I love mine. Nice video, keep them coming 👍
Hey, thanks for noticing and yes I absolutely agree. I also have a pair of Giro shoes with SPDs that are great to walk around in so I don’t even need to change my shoes 👍👍
@@veloworks9266 I have a summer pair and a winter pair of shoes and I can use them on all three bikes and my indoor trainer and they are all fine off the bike. They make a huge difference
Nice having a plush back of the bike but the front takes the punishment first on rough surfaces. Not worth the outlay for me as I only use the battered old Brompton every few months for train travel. Thanks for sharing.
I tried the 3-ply Scrowave spring based on the manufacturer guidelines of my riding bodyweight (80Kgs)-this completely ruined the ride making it very harsh and unforgiving, changing down to the 2-ply was hugely better in giving a balance of stiffness and compliance, at £80 each the initial purchase was an expensive mistake….
Mmmm looks great got to love anything Brompton. Thanks for filming all the best Pete 🚴
Thanks Pete and cheers for watching 👍
Hello Paul,
Thanks for the long term review, it is very helpful indeed.
Take care.
Paul,,
Thank you and thanks for the comment 😀 Hope you are well

Hi, thanks for watching and commenting! Unfortunately Brompton no longer make these P bars which is such a shame! They are amazing

@@Robert_Thomas832 it is an expense if you don’t use your Brompton that often. Thank you for watching
Be careful with the after market seat post clamp as well, had one snap (sheared off) on me, put the original back on

Interesting to know. Thanks for sharing your experience.
These Brompton transport wheels are absolutely useless! Get some good (skate board) wheels!
Thanks for watching and the comment. However, I’ve had these wheels on this Brompton for almost 10 years and they work perfectly 👍
