    I just want you thank Charles’ wife for keeping these videos up for us-I’m sorry you lost him so early-obviously the two of you were an amazing Union-such talent & grace in your work. The two videos I watched tonight taught me a great deal-thank you. I’m looking forward to trying star man soon 💗

    Man, I really wish you were still producing videos. Was looking forward to the female version. You actually explain things. Most tutorials just show the artist sculpting. And to add insult to injury, some paid sites I've subscribed to dont really teach anything. The how's and whys are always missing. You have a gift and I wish you had more videos available.

    Hello Charles thank you so much for the help I just found your channel and look forward to learning more from you, I used to sculpt very good when I was alot younger and now in my retirement I started again like a little kid but like everything else you get very rusty when you stop something for a long time , I realy appreciate this Thanks again. Stephen

      Hi Stephen, and sorry for being so late to answer. Charles (Chuck) Oldham passed away a little more than two years after we began this channel. I am his widow, and have remarried. He taught me sculpting but I will never be nearly as good! He was a prodigy. But I will continue to teach what I learned from him, starting again next year. I am continuing a college degree right now (yes, at my age!). Thank you for visiting us! - Vicky Oldham

    You are a great teacher. You seem to be able to anticipate the learners questions before they become questions! I will be watching as many of your videos as I can find.

    Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm a painter and have been able to paint for a number of years on 2D canvasses but I have never been able to sculpt, because I don't work as well in 3D environment as I do with 2D. Thank you for sharing the tips, tricks and techniques you use. You make it look so easy! Practice makes perfect.

    HOND!!!! Top dog! This video is boss. It's one thing to be good at what you do, but it's another to help others better themselves. I'm really glad I stumbled upon your video. Be blessed.

    I really need a poseable model for 2d art that I can drape on surfaces more realistically than a jointed wooden or plastic figure. This is perfect - thank you!!!

    How do you harden the clay when your done?

    • @LearnSculpture
      @LearnSculpture  5 місяців тому

      It is not a hardening clay because it's used to make the original model. See the instructions at LearnSculpture.org.

    hey i have a question. i tried to do this with 2 different types of "clay". it all starts nice, but after some working time i end up with a figure that is not very workable because the mass is too hard to control. both are remodelable types. the first acts and feels like sturdy "good quality" play doh and the other one like a mix of clay and play doh, seems to hold the form a little better but ends up being soft and "sticky" so it's hard to control mass. is the clay you use remodelable or not, and if not is this a factor in the way it seems to behave? also is it possible i made my initial ball too large?
