I have a Kettlewell frictionless slider for each of my three harps. I am a total fan of this device as it allows for a relaxed embouchure and I have not had to clean my instruments as often. As a beginner I think I will advance faster using the " cool ice " slider.

That's a great idea! Have you ever experimented with adding a flexible melodica tube to the mouthpiece slider? A flexi-hose slider might be useful as "training wheels" for beginners, or connected to bellows for germ free in-store demos. Your invention opens up lots of possibilities.

I thought about it...but never tested it, as embouchure is still important, as is cupping with hands.
