- Multi-time World & Olympic Team head coach Rob Hermann goes over four simple yet effective Greco-Roman techniques that all wrestlers should have in their arsenals.
- Спорт
0:08 - arm-drags from left and right side
1:08 - off balance spin
1:58 - high tight waist turn for 2
3:00 - Korean front head roll
Thank you for your service!
I remember I saw this video 4 years ago and I couldn’t quite understand the off balance. I’ve now been doing Greco and freestyle for the last 2 and a half years, it’s cool to now better understand these techniques and how I’ve actually used them in matches
The thing I feel makes Greco Roman the best style for the street is that the throws can end a fight in seconds..dueling will just get you hurt or killed..
The hard thing is getting into the throw as you’re being punched and kicked
@@cyntrixta1884 when u have an over under or double unders you can’t really get punched
But you can get punched getting into the unders
@@cyntrixta1884 you can but you won’t feel anything due to adrenaline. The one fight I got in I took some shots getting close but once I got a hold of them it was done
The best martial art is to stop a fight without strikes or slamsbjust upperbody control
Had the privilege to go to a camp with Coach Hermann and Coach John Smith. Wealth of knowledge.
Thank the Lord this video exists, I've been learning Ringen recently but i get worried about how little ground work and submissions there are.
What's Ringen?

Nice! While teaching Islamic Studies and Arabic in Wales, our institute director, a historian and Arabist, was also an Iraqi wrestler back in the day, and this gentleman reminds me of him. The institute was in the middle of nowhere, and he had built a gym there! He was a father figure to us all, far more than just an academic.
Yeah I need this technics because I am selected for state level and I am plying Greeco roman style thank you for these techniques
I had my first GR lesson at age 42 lol. ITs amazing. The body locks work so well. I have no clue what I am doing but i was able to get a few takedowns or the guy let me lol

Always like Rob's style of wrestling, remember him wrestling Kenny Chertow a couple of times in Free while I wrestled in the Greco. Always a class act on and off the mat.
awsome!!!!!!
Thank u
Check out that knee bump 1:36! Beautiful technique
No one cant go down just like that,it is so mouch predictable and he just push him a little bit with fingers. That have no point.
Thank you, I'm going to my first ever Greco/Freestyle tournament soon
the off balance spin is also used in muay thai......have never seen it anywhere else, geat stuff!! greetings from europe
This is great technique and Benji Peak is a Greco-Roman hammer.
love that korean headlock
Ah yes, Korea, that place the Greeks and or Romans enjoyed visiting.
I love these weird mash-ups when old ideas persist into the modern global society.
@@SwordTune Greco-roman wrestling was made in france
@@kaiceecrane3884 yes but name is clearly a homage to Greeks and Romans

Don't ever give up on Greco...toughest sport in the world.
Good technical action! But I know some more interesting tricks ...
I just had my first lesson at 42 age old
@@quasar4601 you liking it so far?
@@wesllful , I love it but I can only do it 1 hour on Sunday lol. The last 3 lessons we just worked on Double legs and that was very hard for me. I cannot find guys over 30 to train with and i cannot go back to Middle School lol
@@quasar4601 well good luck to you and try to learn as much as you can like the head and arm throw
@@wesllful , My takedowns are the basic Double Leg, Single leg and a few body locks. He likes mostly a Greco Style with a few leg attacks mixed in. We do over hooks, under and 2 on 1. Its basically a very basic Wrestling system as most guys my age dont do this stuff lol. I am over 40 and 6-1 and 160 pounds lol And Jewish lol
Most dangerous man in the world is a Wrestler. Deadliest weapon in the world is a Marine and his Rifle.
Marine Veteran USA I will be both
Marine Veteran USA I’m joining soon. Wish me strength.
A grappler with well rounded skills (stand up and submissions) is more dangerous than an olympic style wrestler who focuses only on the takedown and ground control though.
@@vman108 Yeah, once those submission skills are required. But at baseline, a wrestler has superior conditioning, strength, and position.
Hm, but if you bring a rifle to a wrestling tournament, I daresay you'd be disqualified for cheating.
