I have recently built a polargraph machine myself. Quite a cool project. I was unable to get the originally polargraph software to work, but I did get the Makelangelo software working. It is pretty much the successor to the polargraph and what I based my build off of. I used Nema17 motors and an arduino mega with a Ramps board. Probably overkill but hey, it works well.
My favorite drawing robot in a new form! For those not familiar the original was developed in 2002 by Jurg Lehni and the plotter was named Hektor. It orginally held a can of spray paint instead of a pen. These plotters have been scaled up large enough to paint entire walls and also used to paint huge graphics on the side of water towers and barns.
Thank you very much for your informative comment. Yes, I agree with you, we can say that Hektor is the father of hanging drawing machines. A link for those who want more details: juerglehni.com/works/hektor
Very good video. I am doing a similar project and have problems when I want to export Gcode to the SD card so I don't need to use a PC. Do you have any ideas?

You make great Arduino projects and videos.
Thanks
Nice, I`ll try it & then replace the pen with a spindle, try mini engraver.
Yes, it would be very cool, I was thinking of adapting a mini engraver, maybe I will have time for it in the future 😇
Very nice project, the result is awesome with these cheap motors.
Thank u
Thank you! Excellent work!!!
Thank u
Amazing project! Many thanks.
Thanks
Very nicely done.
Thanks
That's super cool!
Thanks
Love this machine friend. Can we build one to?
Thanks

Good idea, here I found a topic for you: Setting up your PolargraphSD - www.polargraph.co.uk/setup/
Merci !
Thanks
Brother when will the assembled version will be available?
As soon as possible
Can you make another video and mention more details..please
There is actually more detailed information about Polargraph here, so take a look: www.polargraph.co.uk/
where can I get all the components for the board?
Hi thanka for sharing detail project. I am trying same thing but my motor moving very slowly. Can I make it Faster?
Motor type and specifications are important, you can update the polargraph software according to the motor you are using
Thanks 😇
💯💯🦾
Thanks 😇
