Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Syed Mohsin Naqvi has clarified that he would not tolerate any ‘grouping’ in the team.
Mohsin Naqvi sought a plan for upgrading high-performance centers and enhancing coach training standards, saying that high-performance centers would also be established in Islamabad and Peshawar.
National team coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie would present the final report in this regard.
The chairman directed to have separate coaches for Shaheens and Under-19 teams and to organize tournaments consistently.
He also assigned tasks to the Director of High-Performance Centers for improving the women’s cricket team and reviewing their central contracts.
To review domestic contracts, responsibilities were assigned to Mohammad Yousuf, Asad Shafiq, Usman Wahla, and Nadeem Khan.
Mohsin Naqvi directed urgent work to promote school cricket and sought a comprehensive plan from the Director of Domestic Cricket. He also instructed to start work on improving the quality of pitches.
Mohsin Naqvi emphasized that investing in new talent will bring forth excellent players.
“There will be substantial investment in new players, with full trust and authority given to coaches Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie, expecting them to deliver the best results,” he said.
The important decisions were also made regarding promotion of domestic cricket, with the selection committee finalizing the method of playing domestic cricket.
Gary Kirsten and Jason Gillespie were included in the selection committee.
Every player would undergo a fitness test every three months, and it would be mandatory for players to play domestic cricket.
