@@shaneharper4477 I would absolutely lose it if he does that. I can't wait to see what new characters they create. I know they originally went with characters that were close to how they actually are, but we've seen how they've branched out with Blades in the Dark, Deadlands, and so forth, so the new ones they make should be very interesting.
@@SolaScientiaI think they all went with what seemed fun for a one off set of adventures at first, and never really thought about any long term goals when creating their first characters, so it was just constant hilarious chaos! We saw characters with a bit more thought behind them in Blades in the Dark and Deadlands for example, when they got a chance to think about them more, so am excited to see what they do when they have more time to think as they start new ones!
@@phildman132 I completely agree. It's going to be interesting see what all they do and if it's going to be more serious or not, and if Johnny will be less lenient on them all. Can't wait for it regardless though.

Not gonna lie, my heart sank when I first saw the thumbnail for this video. With so many people leaving youtube recently I thought Johnny might be hanging up their DM shoes. Then I saw it said the final season, I though maybe more of them were leaving. The relief was real when they said it was not the end. Such a rollercoaster, but I did not need this on a Tuesday Afternoon.
That said, I can't wait for this season, and to see the new world Johnny has created and to meet the new characters.

I'm really gonna miss these characters, they were the ones that got me interested in starting to play D&D all those years ago, but I'm super excited for what's coming in the future!
Before the costumes, the live shows, the music video, and the fanart, there was the Spicy Rat Caper campaign! It was the first time I ever wanted to play DnD myself. I’ll miss the OG team but thank you for all of the wonderful memories, they got me through so many tough times!

I'm disappointed that this'll be the last we see of the Oxventurer's Guild. But I am looking forward to witnessing their last hurrah and what else is in store for the Oxventure channel. Goodbye our brave-ish adventurers may you finally find all the riches Dob threw in the lake and Egbert's kidney. Can't wait to meet the new lot and laugh at their inevitable shenanigans! Miss ya'll already.
Assuming they don't all die, it's probably not _last_ last. I wouldn't be surprised if they revisited them later in one-shots or mini-campaigns.

@@daviddaugherty2816They stated on the most recent episode of the podcast, that the Oxventurers indeed may still appear in one shots, and as NPC's in other bits around Geth, so I believe we're not fully done with them yet
For the new setting, I'd love to see a series of 1 on 1 videos with each of the players talking with Johnny about their new characters, background, cc choices, etc, before session 1. Would be a great way to introduce the characters and get us hyped up!

they didn't powergame but they sure as shit optimized their shenanigans, and that's the best part of D&D
I fell out of the Oxventure train a couple years back, even though I love Oxventure.
I think this is a good time to catch up and then start fresh. I think I’m quite ready for another Oxventure

I am a grown-ass man. It takes a lot to make me cry. This news made me so sad I shed a tear. The Oxventure has seen me through the biggest years of my life. I went from a freshman in college through grad school and then through the first two years of marriage with my beautiful wife with the Oxventure as an ever-remaining constant. I have listened to each episode dozens of times. While I am excited to see what is next, retiring the old set of characters feels like losing old friends…..
Woah; we’re kinda similar. I graduated highschool, went through undergrad, and got a masters, and now I’m halfway through a PhD.
Oxventure’s seen me through an engagement, which turned into an ex fiancé, multiple moves for school, and many, many nights of work and insomnia.
I’ll miss these characters so, so much. But this video makes it seem like there’s more to come. So I’m glad that it’s not completely over yet. I still get to see some of my favorite humans be lovely nerds on camera. 😂

Both immense joy and total dismay have filled my soul at the same time. I am so excited for a new season and to see new characters but I will truly miss all that this guild has given us. See you guys at The Final Season!
sad but also excited, it's sad that we have to say goodbye to Corazon, Egbert, Merilwen, Dob, and Prudence after so long, but also excited to see the brand new characters, can't wait to see what kind of characters those crazy peoples created

I cannot be more excited for more Oxventure however we get it, but oh boy the season title made my heart skip a beat.
I bet everyone is excited to roll up and design new characters! Your first characters always hold a special spot in your heart, but there are so many fun mechanics and personality quirks to explore.
I hope we will see some cameo's of the Oxventure guild because I am not ready to leave Seal Gaiman behind.

I'm filled with so many emotions. Mostly excitement, but also a little sadness even though I knew something like this had to be coming for the OG Oxventurer's guild. Still, I'll be here through the finale and into the new campaign. I already know it'll be good.
I'm really excited to see what new characters the OxBox gang come up with now they've spent longer in the TTRPG sphere and what they create with all their new knowledge!

Thanks for introducing me to Green Lung! The album cover intrigued me, and listening to it blew me away. I've now listened to their discography several times in the last few days and am very much looking forward to seeing what Johnny has cooking.
To be honest, I think it's time they get to play new characters. That sounds such a wonderful Idea and refreshing for you as the DM & the players.
I know I need to do a catch up but whe you guys do love shows as someone from Australia who can't see them I tend to loose track of what order episodes are in as they seem to jumble but seeing you guys from the start again would honestly help a ton 😅 Good luck with your Final Geth Adventure and for the future adventures!
I've been listening to the Oxventure Podcast, which is going through every adventure in chronological order starting from the very beginning (though they do take breaks to focus on different campaigns every now and then; they're just about to finish up Season 2 of Blades in the Dark as I write this). They do some fun banter before each adventure and some interesting behind-the-scenes and commentary afterward. It's very good, I recommend it!
A new setting? Excellent. As much as I enjoy the view of the twin suns of Geth lowering over the edge of the disk as the sky comes down at night, I always had a sneaking suspicion that you lot improvised much of it as you went. You did a wonderful, fantastical job, for sure, but as your storytelling skills have all grown over these - wow has it been that many?! - years I welcome a clean canvas and a new masterpiece. Thank you all for sharing so much time and effort with us.
Ohhhhh wow. It's truly so hard to imagine the Oxventurers retiring, but also so excited to see what you all do with the new campaign!

I started watching this crew & it's table top escapades during the early days of 2020 lock down. Like many of us, it was one of the things keeping spirits lifted during that dark time. I've been a fan since. Hearing the news today, I'm having several feelings. I can imagine all the reasons that led to the decision and they all make excellent sense. And still, I continue to have a bunch of feelings. No doubt those will stick with me for some time, even while I eagerly look forward to the new mayhem on the horizon.
This is so bittersweet, I will miss the OGs terribly but the exploration of new avenues character creation and story wise will be such a treat.
It'll be sad to see these characters go, but excited to get to see new characters and setting. You all do great work both here and on the other OX channels.

This is going to be awesome
I’m about to launch my first story as a DM. I’m sort of nervous because I’ve only been into DnD and PF since OXbox started doing DnD. I have you guys to thank for it.
I will be doing PF2e and it’s going to be centered around a grand festival: food, trade, merriment, and tournaments of strength, agility, cunning, and wizardry. The main goal will be for my players to collect festival points through either winning the tournaments, finding rare treasure, or as rewards for doing quests for certain characters. While it sounds all good, there is a hidden treasure the adventurers will find part way through that is of hidden interest by the festival organizer. There also seems to be a weird rule of the city where the festival is at: no one is allowed to leave the city past the walls during the festival on edict by the king.
I love how the video is titled as if it was the start of an intervention.
Was that Johnny dancing "the Dig"!? That's one of my favorite dances!!! At least it's one in which I've mastered!! 😂

Wow! I was just thinking about this yesterday! I have loved Oxventure so much & have enjoyed every minute of it! Im so glad the gang will get their triumphant finale and you'll all have the opportunity to enjoy something fresh and new! The guild has had a great run! Im excited to see what new adventures are in store.

Yes! YES! If this contains British folk horror shenanigans I'm EXTRA hyped, but I'm just glad y'all get to move on from decisions made for a "let's just try this once" game. Between multiple seasons of D&D, Blades, Deadlands, and all the one-shots you improved so much that... I'm excited to see what happens next!
I am extremely excited for what's coming next, but not gonna lie, that last shot of Johnny staring the camera down like a total badass did more to hype me up than the entire rest of the video. Cannot WAIT, this is gonna be awesome. :D
Bittersweet but still excited for this, as it was always inevitable. I hope you at least keep in mind possible one-shots with the returning OG oxventurers' guild, as those have always been fun when Critical Role returns to Vox Machina or the Mighty Nein. Also excited to find out what Johnny has planned as an alternative to Geth, and what kind of mad nonsense characters the players come up with now they know a lot more about what the options are! (insert classic Guns Akimbo "first character vs. Nth character" meme here)

I'm so looking forward to seeing how it ends with the oxventure's guild story it's definitely gonna be sad to see it end tho because I've been watching it and your other games since you started it's been such an amazing campaign but you're all such amazing storytellers and play your characters so well that I'm looking forward to whatever game you play next although no matter what world you go to in my head cannon it will always be a new part of geth

Well, that was an emotional rollercoaster in just over 2 minutes! I'll be sad to see the Oxventurer's Guild come to an end - I've enjoyed their Blades and Deadlands campaigns, and the One Shot Wonders, but the main campaign is what kept me coming back. That said, I'm excited to see what characters/ settings they can all come up with now that they have a lot more TTRPG experience under their belt. I just hope it keeps the slightly silly/ lighthearted tone rather than going more serious.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m very excited to see what their new characters will be like, but the original Oxventure gang have gotten me through so much in my life, it’ll be very sad to see them go. Hopefully with the way the story pans out, there’ll be opportunities for guest appearances with the new gang, like seeing an old friend for lunch!
With the other big changes happening in my normal UA-cam viewing (MatPat retiring, Aoife leaving Eurogamer), I was very worried about our beloved Oxboxtra and Oxventure gang. I’m sure that day will have to come eventually but I sincerely hope it lasts as long as possible (provided everyone is enjoying what they’re doing).
Anyway I’ll be sure to throw my Oxventurer memories in the lake for safekeeping while we explore this next chapter 🙂
My heart! The Oxventurers guild has been such a constant in my life for years, but god am I excited to see what happens next. (Sullivan is going to bring a level of hitherto undreamt of chaos to the table and I am so ready.)

When I heard this was the final season, I thought "Bummer, but fair. There's a limit to the number of stories you can tell with these characters, and the people involved probably have other stuff they want to work on." I'm really excited to hear y'all will still be playing, but with new characters. That's awesome!

I'm going to miss the guild, but i feel like seeing everyone try out new classes and personalities will be a lot of fun! You guys got me into D&D and inspired the worlds i try to build and the humor i add when I'm DMing. And i also kind of based my first player character or Corazón too. Haha! But maybe this will be a good chance to learn and be inspired even more from you guys!

This is exciting! Though I love the OG Guild, 6 years is a long time to play the same characters and it had to end sometime. Happy for the players to get to try something new, and especially happy for Johnny to create something new! A lot of Geth had to be made on the fly out of necessity, without knowing how big it would be. Glad they now have the chance to sit down and create something purpose-built for grand adventure! Can't wait :D

On the one hand, love the oxventurers guild. On the other hand, I fell off keeping up with their antics around their first time in Necropolis on Sea and never had the time to catch up - only got about as far as Rust I think - so I'm really looking forward to being able to get on at the ground floor with the new lot.
This is the best thing on UA-cam. This will go down as one of the all time great dnd series. I know dnd is niche even amongst the nerdiest of people, but it’s growing and growing. I’m glad you guys have created something to support its growth
