Wow a video where the person actually practically explains and get straight to the point. Great vid. Btw which racket was that? I dont know much about victor. Im more of a yonex boy 🤣
Excellent points. I know so many who frequently snap strings & really on other people to have scissors. The problem is they interrupt & expect the friend to stop in the middle of the match to go get scissors out of the racquet bag or get permission to go through friend's bag. It's annoying. Just as much when people just got off court & constantly ask what your score is so to rush you off the court so they can play. I get stares for ignoring them or telling them to wait. Haven't seen anyone leave strings on the floor. However when people finish their tube of shuttles they should be taking their empty tubes home for recycling; not in garbage. Otherwise save them for a trip to the recycling depot.
Hi Paul. I currently play on a high school team and have only been playing for 2 years. However, I have adapted quite quickly and am able to hit many desirable shots, yet have never had any type of formal training. I currently possess an astrox 77 4u yet am in search for a new racket. My smashes aren’t very good (that’s just a me thing I don’t blame the racket lol). Also, I’m looking for something that has a good stringing capacity up to at least 28 or something. Although, I may string 25 next time because I’ve been having slight trouble with 27, as I’m not very consistent with it. Sometimes my arm fatigued rather quickly. I’m not sure what racket would be most suitable between head light, head heavy, or even balanced. Right now, I’m targeting a z speed or a duora 10; both which are, respectively, very different. What would be your recommendation as for what racket(s) are best for someone like me? Also, my play style varies on who I play. Sometimes I’m able to hit good smashes sometimes I just have a bad day. Overall, I’m the type of player who likes to play safe and always be one step ahead of their opponent; particularly, through drops and punch clears, with a mixture of overwhelming them by forcing them to smash and switching to defense for a while. I’m somewhat rounded... Thanks
You need to test as many rackets as you can and note the specifications of the rackets you liked. This will guide you. Nobody can advise which racket you should use based on how you tell them you play.
Thanks for the video, Paul. I need some advice. I can see that the string on my racket is wearing off at the area on the frame via which I scoop the shuttle. ☹️ As a fix, I am thinking of applying a thin strip of sports tape on the area. Do you have a better suggestion or should this be okay? Thanks in advance!
This TKF’s cross string is close to the top-end of the frame, which is a very good design. Some racket has a large main-string-only area at top where has the highest possibility of string braking in my opinion.
Can you do a video on grommets in relation to this? E.g. when and how to change them as some can be quite tricky to remove & if you need to do anything with new grommets? I've heard the phrase "flaring the grommet" but not sure what that means. Thanks
Hi John - I don't flare grommets as I don't have the tools. Flaring is basically flattening the grommet from the inside of the frame, which you will see a lot with new rackets. I have shown me removing grommets before in another video.
Paul any suggestions please, mostly play doubles, at club level, nothing too fancy. Nylon shuttles are used. I am a defensive player, my strength lies in my returning game, I excel at returning fast plays and smashes, and I do a fair amount of drop shot plays and placement shots.
Great informative videos! I have several racquets I am no longer using & not willing to sell or trade. Should I cut the strings? Is it okay to leave the strings on?
If the string tension is already low then cutting the string won't make any difference. If high tension then cut the strings, just in case one breaks and you don't check it.
I've been having a problem with my racket internet strung my racket 3x already it will be 4 , every after the game my string snaps , I lowered the tension to 25 and changed the string bg 80 if I'm.not mistaken.. is it because of a simple mis hit ? Or I need to change the groomet ? My racket cost almost $200 and it's my favorite before now I'm hating it coz it cost me already $130 just for re strunging it for 3x
Thanks Cal. Sadly I won't receive the racket from Victor for a few months. I gather they will arrive in Europe around All Englands so I wont have one until late march
Don’t hit a shuttle. Strings are multiple pieces of elastic. Over time the elasticity reduces. In winter, strings are affected by changes in temperature. Some players rarely break strings, but they all will break over time
when my strings broke today, i felt as though my heart broke for a sec
Mine got broken today and idk if i will get another racket

Every player should carry scissors especially if they have rackets restrung at high tension.
My reason is that when two of my friends come over they throw it at the edge of a bench or they just try and dent it

This will protect your string but it will add a small amount of weight

the meteors were bad like that
Is there any trick to cut the strings ?

Can u please do a video on position for smash and drive defence position and pose?
I can't promise as I cannot accept requests from players. I have my online coaching club for that
Is there anything wrong if my crosses always snap first?
No, my crosses snap. I rarely break a main string.
What can you say about yoney nanoray 69 light?
I cannot comment on a racket I have not seen or tested
Hi Paul, can you make a video on how to string the badminton racket, please?
Sadly I cannot take requests. There are enough good videos on stringing badminton rackets
Can you do a review for the victor auraspeed 90s and 80x
Yes, I will be reviewing the entire Auraspeed range. I should receive them some time in March
Great informative videos! I have several racquets I am no longer using & not willing to sell or trade. Should I cut the strings? Is it okay to leave the strings on?
If the string tension is already low then cutting the string won't make any difference. If high tension then cut the strings, just in case one breaks and you don't check it.
@@TheBadmintonCoach Thanks for your informative answers. I could always play with those racquets & retire them after the strings snap.
@@TheHi-T yes you could

Paul Stewart Advanced Badminton Coach thanks for the reply. I’m interested to get one
@@calnorman5370 so am I. my friend allowed me to try his. I reckon its a cross between a Bravesword and a Jetspeed
Paul Stewart Advanced Badminton Coach did you like it? Can I ask where he got it from?
@@calnorman5370 No idea.I liked the racket, it is fast and will be a very good doubles racket.
How do you not break it?
Don’t hit a shuttle. Strings are multiple pieces of elastic. Over time the elasticity reduces. In winter, strings are affected by changes in temperature. Some players rarely break strings, but they all will break over time
after a long long time...
better late than never. I don't recall anybody asking for this video
I play every day in my court and I use 25 lbs and that is Yonex bg 65 titanium and it broke within a week
My string breaks at the center
Center main or cross strings?
Can u give review of Yonex astrox 68s
