As a trained graphic designer, I can tell you the techniques you learn for what path you take with the field can all be taught through UA-cam and/or other online courses. However, the insight I have based on the material I read, the varying projects I’ve been given, and all the fundamentals can only be taught through a mentor and experience. Anybody can use Adobe but not everybody can use Adobe efficiently. Props to this guy for teaching you how to make a hustle. If you’re truly passionate, you will crave the knowledge and inspiration to get better.
thats a fact bro. What i found when i got into the professional world of desgin is that youre absolutely correct. You'll learn more techniques, more everything along the way, and yes going back and getting sound fundamentally does help, which ive had the privilege of doing.

You have to find a niche of clients that are actually willing to pay you an uphold their agreements which is the literal hardest part
Same struggle with any service business, just gotta find what works for you and hammer it consistently. 💪

This was my main hustle in my late teens/early 20s. Myspace glory days. I made logos, t-shirts, profiles, everything for the bands in my local scene and then nationally.
Always a handy skill to have. Esp if you're starting business and marketing, social, yt, etc. That's one less bill you gotta pay to make moves.

Y'all listen to this G, the advice he gave about how to start learning Photoshop is top notch. that's how I started until I became a PRO even thou by the way Photoshop has got unlimited possibilities so which I don't think I have discovered all yet. I'm a designer myself but my parents won't wanna allow me pursue a degree in that... I'm currently the most depressed person on earth currently pursuing a degree I have no passion. I'm gonna rebel soon so I start teaching myself Adobe XD. Art is the passion
So, I’ll tell you this don’t look at it that way bro because ultimately everything that you will ever learn is going to be a plus at a certain point you’re gonna be able to get to a point where you don’t necessarily have to rebel because you’ll be able to do everything you need to do it want to do independently so just like your parents or mom my mom also never really took design series as a career however if you see that I’m making nice money doing it and then I actually get employed at a legit company doing this then what more could you say even as my parents are
its been an old dream that I put on the pack burner for a few years. now I am living alone and want to make extra money so I think I am going to give this another shot and maybe a few years fulltime!

I know some people who act as a middle man. So they'll get clients who want art for their project(s) and then they would go get the design made on Fiverr(a really cheap/affordable place for freelance designers). So they would charge the client 200+ yet pay the ACTUAL artist like $20-40 depending on who you go to. Some charge below 20 tbh. It's entrepreneurial lol

I’ve been using photoshop since 94. There are some viable contenders. I’ve used Gimp many times but I always find myself going back to photoshop for speed, ease of use and the raw power it has. Macros and plugins go such a long way and while basics are the same across apps Adobe is the one for image editing and illustrations. Video I have to say davinci resolve is taking over. It’s only a matter of time.

I always thought photoshop was intimidating. Lol don't laugh but I grew up on ms Publisher early 90s. That's where my love for basic design came from. I always dreamed of being a graphic designer... But I would see how amazing others were and I'd just dream about it and I also thought what's the use there are so many amazing talent out there who would I be. And now I'm old. I now just resort to canva. But it's quite limiting. I think I'd take your advice to heart as well. Thanks for the advice. Here's to a sub. I actually enjoyed your video too.

Adobe starts out good. As long as you don't need them, they're great. But, you tell the market to endure: the worse customer service and tech support, constant up dates (which take up space and ruin your CPU/GPU) oblivious pricing... monthly fees (how many subscriptions can one person afford?) Market manipulation...(does some update (software, OS, driver) always cause you to spend money that you can't afford?). There CEO is making 250 an hour and you're paying that a month to have a tech rep tell you..."they can't...'. Gotta be something better!

Yes it works on Mac’s and windows. And procreate is a strong design tool! I recommend something with at least a i5 processor

one thing i heard you say is that you would message 100 ppl in a day… how did you do that without getting temporarily blocked from sending messages on instagram?
I would space it out. I couldnt do it at a robotic rate. I would do 8, stop. Do 5 stop. Etc. And not even purposely.
